I don't know how it works either. I don't think I got UOCs before but might have and just didn't know what they were so never paid attention. The past 3 years I don't recall seeing them, but have used GP offers. This year I got a UOC for Summer and then today in snail mail one for Fall.

I'm shocked two in a row and why I don't know but I'm happy.
Oh and I'll note I don't believe I have ever got an email code. These were snail mail.
I wish I had a magic wand to give others a code but......pout.....I don't.

Hang in there. Wishing you pixie dust. I still can't believe I got it today. I was starting to feel disappointed.

That happened to me just a couple days ago.....Hang in there maybe your UOC will come in a couple days!!!!

Just had an idea...maybe you have all thought of this already....perhaps because I have been to WDW several times over the last few years, I don't fit the criteria of folks they send the UOC to....maybe they only send to folks who haven't been there for awhile, or never...

Have any of you that received the UOC lately been to Disney within the last year?

Our last visit was Oct 2013 and we already have a trip planned for this Oct and also next march but I've never gotten a UOC or PIN code. Like others, I got excited on Tuesday when I saw a blue piece of mail in the mailbox with Disney on the corner but it was just the Disney visa newsletter and then today I see another off white piece of mail in the box with Disney on the front and once again I got excited until I pulled it out and saw it was the Disney cruise lines DVD I ordered in hopes of getting my name "on the radar" for a possible UOC or PIN. I don't even have a desire to go on a Disney cruise but ordered the DVD anyway, LOL. I have no idea how Disney determines when or whom they send offers to but I sure wish they would send one my way and to everyone else that hasn't received one before.

I'm with you! One person on another forum says they get one every year for the October time frame, and they go almost every year....drat.....that shoots my theory that they only send to new people, or those who haven't been for awhile...but the good news is that we could all still get one!!!! Keep thinking those happy thoughts, everyone!!!

Sorry no rhyme or reason for it. I got a UOC in the Spring and then again this week. We have had a few "opportunities" put before us so I have been a few times recently. Wasn't planning to go this year, but each year there seems to be a surprise that makes the "pull" stronger.
For us also we use our Disney Visa card to pay for everything, so the points are exciting and make me want to book a vacation. How manipulating is this? I was able to save enough to pay for this trip so I was thinking of holding onto my rewards until the original planned 2016 or 2017 trip. I'm hoping to try another resort and possibly deluxe next time.

So I hope the UOC keeps coming my way.
And hope you see one too.

Wow. I just cannot believe there is not a discount for the week of October 12th. I guess on the upside maybe less people will go and parks will be less crowded.

The reason there is no discount is it is Canadian Thanksgiving, so people will travel to take advantage of the extra day. Isn't it also a holiday (Columbus Day?) in the US?

yes and that is why the parks are more crowded as locals have the long weekend and will go to the parks. At least that is what I read.

Yes, it is Colombus day. However, historically there has always been room only discounts during this week. We have been going this week for the past 5 years. This is the first time we havent been able to get a room only discount. Not even the Orbitz Promo code is valid for Disney hotels during this week. Last year we stacked the fall room only discount with an Orbitz promo code. Just really surprised and disappointed.

FWIW, I called yesterday to see if there was a code associated with my husband's or my name....nope. But the CM was very pleasant, and he said "Don't give up...there may be some general ones released over the summer"....yes, I know, they all say that, but I'm putting my hopes on those words...

Yes but UOC is offering August 28-November 24 and November 28-December 23, 2015 (book through August 7)
I was able to get 20% off POR last week of October going into first week November. Could have switched to another moderate but we wanted to stay at POR for specific reasons or our "to do list" this vacation.

Not sure how the pixie dust landed on me. I was just glad I didn't have to wait to finalize.
Well the room part. I still haven't got tickets yet.
