I made my ADRs on my 180+10 day. A lot of the reservations I couldn't really get the times I wanted but made them anyway. After making them I called the dining reservation number and she was able to get the times I wanted and modified my reservations.
Many resorts have varying percentages off. It's based on what Disney thinks people will pay.

I've never heard of one for North Americans in January. There is one for UK visitors that has many more dining windows throughout the year. Historically, a play stay and dine package has been offered at slower times of the year or a RO (room only) discount. January used to be known for incredible RO discounts (and I used them and loved them . . .) but the discounts have not been as deep the past year or two as DW has increased its occupancy across the board and throughout the year. A good starting point would be to search online/google for disney world resort discounts 2014 and 2015 to see what had been offered in recent history and to get a better idea of which months to focus upon. However, many of us on this thread believe that Fall Free Dining is on the wane because Disney has already filled a majority of its beds and may just not need to use such a strong promotion in the future. As we saw with this year's Free Dining, no deal stays the same and deep cuts to favourite promos have now happened. Best wishes & sorry for your October difficulties.

I've seen mentions of UOCs with 30% off plus free park hopper.
The PINS/UOC usually have the same discounts but less exclusions and more available dates.
I called yesterday and got through to WDW-Dine in 1 minute. Maybe I got lucky?
Definitely pushed out the new release of the software for the stupid modify button. I got it the day before FD went out and it still does not work on my account. Idiots!In addition to that, think about the credibility issue that many TAs have now...I have been working with my TA for 3+ years now, and wouldn't think of dropping her for another TA or doing it myself (yes, I know how, and have done it in the past, but I now prefer to have the TA do it since they have all the cool toys...at least they did!).
But how many other folks, thinking that their opportunity was slipping away, simply abandoned the reservation made by their TA, (who may have been sitting in the "hold" queue trying to change their clients' reservations....for hours!!) and just booked a new reservation?
Now the TAs are trying in vain to clean up the mess...and they definitely have received a huge black eye!
As a retired IT person myself, I know how hard it is to push out a new release of any software....I can only imagine the scope of this project! But yet, it was only a couple of months ago that Disney released many of their IT staff...good timing, eh?
I suppose I'll just be using my DV for the Chase F&W lounge and to get a couple of free pictures. Other than that it is useless to me.

For those paying OP for food, it does also give you 10 percent discounts at certain restaurants and shops.
