front desk employees typically are not aware of dining plan rules, and not sure what happened with the Epcot places, but it has been the rule since 2011, I believe. There are emailed responses floating around her somewhere. Lol

I believe ya We had nothing but trouble with POR desk CMs. I asked if they could get me the number to Portobello because my son thought he left his lanyard full of pins there, the CM said something to the affect of, "Well, what do you want me to do about it? I can't just give out their number or call and ask someone to look for something your kid lost." It stuck out in my mind still to this day. Poor kid was 5. It's not like I wanted to call the cops and have a search party. Tangent...but they aren't my favorite CMs I've dealt with

I probably should not be telling you this because I don't want to start anything in your household but....I am a stay at home mom and they gave me one. Should I start running from your hubby now?

I also got one as a SAHM (okay I actually work per diem but so little that I make virtually nothing ) and I got one just today. On the application it states to include all income, if you're over 21 and someone helps you pay your bills, you can include that income also. I took that as to include DH's income, as he helps pay my bills.

I can not speak to what any CMC told you but we used my boyfriends Visa Card to book a reservation that his name was not on last year for our trip we ended up getting a pin code so that we could go to Port Orleans and never needed the visa offer after that but it works for us just fine we do not have the same last names we are not married and it was no problem at all. to be on the safe side it is certainly best to verify this with Disney before depending on it to be true

Yes. This happened to me last fall (I checked in after 11 pm) and I ended up using the extra QS for a breakfast on my day off, the extra TS for a nice lunch at Coral Reef and the extra snack credit, well, it just got gobbled up at Food & Wine. The best use of snack credits IMHO to max the value of your DP. Enjoy!

So correct me if I am wrong but, are you saying that you can use your snack credits at the kiosks at F&W? I have had free dining before but, have never been to F&W.

Heck . . . I'm worried that I'm sidetracking this thread . . . should be about fall free dining not snakes. However, you'll be fine at CBR. Just use common sense. When Pete says "stay out of the damn lakes, he means the amoeba . . . but there are also gators & snakes in all water in Florida. A few years ago, a young boy was bitten by a cottonmouth at CBR when the toy he was playing with fell into the vegetation near the walkway and when he reached in after it, he was bitten. Florida is Florida and its important not to shove your hands into the veg or put your body into water other than a pool or ocean. Disney resorts are very well maintained & sightings (much less encounters are very rare). I haven't heard anything about in a room. CBR is a great resort. A little common sense goes a long way & you'll be good to go.

Um SNAKES!!! geesh. Walking is one thing and I know it's all nature but ya I'm such a wimp even thinking about a snake is giving me the creeps.
You should see me at any zoo or caged snack places. I just about crawl up my husbands back creeped out and that's caged. ewwwwwww

Ya 3am at any resort is not a long walk desire for me either.
Because of the work issues we are challenged by and my potential day or two solo.......I am going to rethink CBR. Walking a distance alone anytime of day even at Disney......critters everywhere, it's nature!
RO might be the way to go if I can get POR or POFQ, since I know them and feel confident there.
We'll see. So many details I have to look at to come to a firm decision....and then availability impacts too.

Oh and our airline just adjusted flight times from our airport of choice. It was a 5am check out for flight, but now they moved it to an afternoon flight so we won't have to leave until later in the morning. Much better!!!!

I consider that my first for this trip. Now to just be able to book before prices go up again.

Related to snakes - DH has a picture - yes after he called the front desk - WL Courtyard view - 5th floor looking down at BIG snake sitting behind a bush near the entrance to the food area.. Prior to our marriage so glad I was NOT there! Anyway he said two guys with trash can and grabber things (??) came out walked from both sides, snatched him up, threw him in it and departed.

Hey props to Raul (who 1st posted about the south American discount), it was a random person who saw something posed about south America discounts that gave the best rumor within the last couple of years also. Also to smitch and dirty Steve who are great at deciphering and explaining everything to us. So fun to watch this all unravel!

Yep. Use them for the higher priced ones. eg the filet mignon in Canada. The lamb chop in Australia. If over $5.50 or use, a great use for the snack credit. Avoid bottles of water & less $ snacks.

From the sound of the information provided Viajeromagico is either a TA or has TA contacts that have received information from Disney. That being said it is still only a RUMOR from a source that nobody really knows where they got their information. The info does look very credible as it is very close to last year (particularly Oct-Dec), but until it shows up on the South American Disney site, http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/pt-br/special-offers/ , it's still just a rumor.

Smitch, any reason you can think of that they would not release to South America (GP) and Disney Visa on the same day (i.e. 4/27)?

November 12-18th hoping to stay at all star sports. If free dining is available for our dates and hotel I will up grade from the quick to the regular if not I will just take the room discount. This will be our 1st trip in the fall/winter months we have always gone in the summer.
