No magic bands - anyone I can contact

I'm hoping someone knows someone I can contact at Disney about our Magic Band situation. I've called IT support and talked to a supervisor, and she just lied to me.

Here's the situation. Our trip starts on December 6. Our magic band customization deadline was on the 5th. We have a split stay, so our second set of bands customization deadline was November 7.

On the 10ish, the second set shipped 2 day delivery and arrived on the 12th, Our first set was still in "check soon for shipping details". I called and on two separate calls, the cast members told me they would expedite the first set. (calls were a couple of days apart when the bands didn't ship after the first).

On Friday, night I got the ship notice. On Saturday night (15) the tracking info at USPS said an arrival of the 25th (yes 10 days). On Sunday the status went to shipment accepted. Where it now sits. And sits.

I called yesterday and talked to a supervisor. She told me they don't expedite, so I couldn't have been told that, and that they only ship regular mail, not 2 day.

Does anyone have a contact at Disney that might help? I'm traveling for Thanksgiving and the week after, leaving tomorrow, and my concern is that by the time I find out we don't have the bands, it will be too late to get a replacement.

Honestly, this has been the very worst experience with Disney I have ever had. Doing the DVC hotel reservation and the dining was great. This has been awful. Why is it some people get their bands within a week of customization deadline, and I'm going to be lucky if get them at all?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

If you miss getting them at home, you can get MB's at check-in at the resort.

Doesn't the OP only need the one set of Magic Bands?

We had a split stay during my last visit and I only ever used one set of Magic Bands for the whole trip even though I received 2 sets.

True, but I wanted two colors. And I don't understand why some people get theirs within a week of customization, and mine just sit.

Yes, they only need one set. It doesn't matter whether OP receives the other bands or not.

My same thought. Last trip I even brought my Limited Editions from a previous trip and never used the ones they sent me.

You don't need both sets. You can get by on both reservations with just the one set. If what you really wanted was the two different colors and no gray, there isn't much you can do about that except call and ask them to expedite. Or try telling them when you arrive that they owe you colored bands which did not arrive in time for your trip and should provide them at no extra cost.

tracking info does not always update as quickly as we'd like it to.
if it was accepted on sunday it would not have actually moved until yesterday.
so its only been a day since it shipped out.
its probably not updating yet because it has not been scanned at a new sorting facility yet.
so in my opinion you need to just chill.
the magic bands will most likely arrive with plenty of time left before you depart.
if for whatever reason you don't receive them you will get magic bands at check in.
they will not have your name printed on the back but you will still get magic bands.

I too have a split stay and received my magic bands for the 2nd part 2 weeks ago. I am 9 days out and I finally got an email with a tracking number for the magic band for the first part this morning..

They'll also be gray and she's made it clear she does not want gray bands.

That's an idea. Thanks.

they may or may not be gray.
all gift shops now offer all colors so the hotel may give them their preferred colors.

in july my sister's magic band stopped working completely and when we went to customer service they gave her a new one which was the same color as her old one which was blue.

I wouldn't give up yet. My arrival date is December 4th and I just got my MBs last night on 11/17.

I'm in the same situation and going at about the same time, only neither of my sets have shipped yet. I've talked to someone in the on-line chat 3 times, and made a phone call once.

The weird thing is, the set for the second half of our trip has been ahead of the other set in the process. Two of the times I talked to them, the next day one of the sets were moved to the next step in the process and now both of them are stuck on "check back soon for shipping details."

We leave in 22 days so it's not urgent yet, but I'd hate to be relying on the USPS 2 weeks out and have something go wrong. Also, I was really hoping to have them before Thanksgiving since we will all be together and I thought some of us might like to decorate them. They told me yesterday to call back in 5 days if they haven't shipped so naturally I'll be calling tomorrow. :lmao:

I don't know why some people get their's immediately or why it's so hard to ship them 30 days out. There really should be an option for you to mark your bands as "ready" even before the final customization date so they can have them ready to ship then to remove this hassle.

My son lost his at MK and he was able to get the same color he lost at the hotel too. This was back last May at the Contemporary.

Good luck and have a wonderful vacation!!

We were hoping to decorate over thanksgiving. Naturally the delayed set is the one that needs the most decoration.

And I totally agree on the last point - ours were ready from our perspective months ago. And yeah, why do some people get them immediately?

For whatever reason, based on the info I've been reading, of late the bands are not shipping till about 20 days out. When we went in August it was closer to 30 days but right now it's consistently 20 days

I do like the idea of marking them ready to ship when you are done rather than waiting. Though in my case, the longer I had them at home the better chance I have of putting them somewhere and forgetting. At least now they arrived yesterday and I only need to keep track of them for 3 weeks.
