Hi!

Im looking to book for the 3rd week in April and I was shocked to see beach club villas (suite) at slightly cheaper than a regular standard beach club room. Now admittedly, I've never stayed at the villas, and I've only stayed once at the beach club. Is there a downside to the villas versus a standard room? Why would the price be less for the villa?

The nice thing about staying at the villas which someone mentioned is having the kitchen area. In the studio you get a kitchenette which is good enough to prepare a breakfast or lunch/snacks. That alone is worth it IMO.

We won't be arriving until the 25th. :( It would have been fun to tour together.
FW would be a good place to mend. Does Jeanne enjoy being in the woods after all that time spent in the dessert? Our daughter in Colorado misses the beautiful fall colors here and especially the apple orchard with its apple cider donuts. :goodvibes

She likes the cabins but her favorite is the Grand Floridian. But since I'm paying, I picked my favorite which is the cabins!!

We arrive at the Cabins 1/10 for six nights. I think we'll be eating at Whispering Canyon on 1/10 ... take the boat over for dinner.

Jeanne and Lily are arriving 1/6 and will be staying with us for about 3 weeks. She will be having surgery on 12/19 and will be out of school for about 6-8 weeks so she will "mend" here with us. I'll be doing most of the parks with Lily.

How nice for you to have your girls with you for 3 weeks, with a good dose of Disney thrown in.

And, how nice for Jeanne to be able to spend some of her mending time in your wonderful care.

It's a win-win visit!

Yep, hope her doctor goes along with it ... flying that soon but according to what the airlines recommend, she should be fine. She just has to walk around (to avoid blood clots). She said she's coming whether or not the doctor agrees. I'll be there for the surgery but am flying back on Christmas Eve. Can't leave Bob alone on Christmas and she has her best friends from PA flying out a day or two after I leave.

Pencil me in for the BC for August 16-23 next year. I'll be there with my oldest (otherwise known as the drama llama) and youngest (code name Bionic Baby). I'm going to try to convince my sister to come along. She keeps the thermostat in her office set at 85, so August in Orlando should be a piece of cake. My middle two kids have said no way to that heat and I'm not even asking my husband because I know the answer.

So, we'll meet again!
Wheeee!

I can't remember!! If Magic Kingdom opens at 8 am (early entry), what time do buses start running? We are at Beach Club and planned to be at stop by 6:45 am.

Two weeks from today!!!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

after a week or so of stalking, the disney website, i was finally able to get something in the boardwalk area to open up for my entire stay! when i switched over to BCV, it was for a saturday check in (we are doing friday-tuesday). I guess with all of the people moving their stuff around for the visa discounts, a standard view room opened up and I was able to switch. Now just to hope that when the GP offer goes live on thursday, i'll be able to apply it.:cool1: i'm excited to see YC this time around! i loved BC this year but am looking forward to the "darker" color schemes. :)

I know ... it's not the Y&B ... but I'm so excited. I just booked six nights at the Cabins for Jeanne, Lily and me (Bob doesn't want to go) for January when they are here for our late Christmas holiday celebration. Now I'm making our dining reservations!!!

Teena --- sounds like so much fun

We're here now and after a day in Animal Kingdom, I'm sitting on our balcony watching the fireworks from EPCOT (I think). We have a great view from room 474.

I'm not sure which resort wins the battle of longest hallway, but our room is near the end of the hallway and it feels as long as the Boardwalk. I don't mind, I'm enjoying the view. We overlook the canal and the quiet pool.

Our Marathon crew (6 of us) :jumping1: will be arriving at BCV's on Jan 8th and checking out on the the 12th. We are all doing the 10k on Friday then I'm doing the full marathon on Sunday.....:smokin:

Then Lee Ann's cousins are coming down (a couple of older Disney nuts like us) and we will be at VGF from the 12th to the 16th. So maybe Lee and I can sneak over to the cabin and meet a real princess. We'll talk when Lee and I are down in Nov. (SSR 2nd - 6th).

You get all that Dee?

Hey, nothing wrong with Grandma picking when Grandma is paying! Glad to hear she's coming to visit with you for the R&R. I'm sure Bob won't mind watching Princess Lilly for the time she is there. By the way, did Jeanne feel the effects of last week's tremors there in Vegas? All the more reason to come back to Florida where all you have to worry about is hurricanes and love bugs.

See you soon.

I love following along on your adventures. Your late Christmas holiday celebration plans sound lovely! Nanny, with just a touch of fairy godmother. Magical! pixiedust:

Question. In reading the directions on page one on how to find the path to EPCOT from BCV, the one thing it didn't give you is a reference point to your starting point. What door are you assumed to be leaving through when you leave BCV? From my room, overlooking the canal and the quiet pool, I can see where BCV ends and the blue boffins of the Beach Club. I can see people walking along the canal in that direction. Is that the path I want to follow? Thanks.

That would be wonderful. Obviously I will not be working 1/11 and 1/12. On 1/12 we have lunch reservations at the Tusker House at Noon but with Jeanne "healing" we'll probably only be over at Animal Kingdom for about four hours or so. On 1/13 we have lunch with Jake the Pirate and the gang at 12:30 in Hollywood Studios and again won't be there the full day. On 1/14 we have dinner at Teppan Edo at 4:50 which means we'll be at the cabins all morning and will head over to Epcot via bus around Noon and do a few rides (she loves Nemo and Turtle Talk and Figment) before dinner. Then 1/15 is Magic Kingdom and dinner at 1900 Park Fare at 4:30. Again, probably will head over to MK for a few hours before dinner. Then 1/16 is check-out and we will have breakfast at the best breakfast buffet at WDW (in our opinion) at Trail's End at 9:10 AM before packing up.

You're welcome to join us for any of our meals although why someone would want to eat with a 3.5 year old Princess is beyond me ... although she is pretty good, especially when characters are around!!

Jeanne lives in the land of buffets and loves breakfast buffets and claims Trail's End has a better breakfast buffet than anywhere in Las Vegas!!

She slept right thru it but said she saw a few plastic lawn chairs knocked over in yards the next day. About an hour after the earthquake, Lily woke up throwing up all over the place and that went on for about 12 hours. She probably ate something the day before that wasn't meant for human consumption. You know toddlers. Yep, Bob is absolutely thrilled the princess is coming in January and he gets six days off while we are at the cabins. He just can't get around anymore so the parks are out of the question and during the winter he doesn't want to go to the resorts. If it is hot enough to swim, I'm sure he'll end up coming over for a few days to hit the pool with his favorite girl!

Are you packing yet for your trip coming up?

You go out the door where Ariel stands guard and head straight towards the Marketplace. But when the BCV building ends, instead of going straight to the door into the Marketplace, make a left and then a right and follow the BC building around until you hit the lake. Then make a left and you'll be in Epcot in a few minutes.

We are here at the BC now and were wonderfully surprised to get a beautiful view towards stormalong bay and the Swan/Dolphin! However, we are late night people and two morning in a row now we have woken up to drilling starting about 8:30. Probably not a problem for most but it wasn't expected. I guess we will just stick it out though since I really don't want to pack up everything to move so I don't think anything could be done. Plus, I do really love the room, and the BC otherwise so hate to complain but just a note to others...I think the construction has started.

Off to enjoy Epcot later today and Fantasmic tonight! Beautiful weather the last couple days at Disney. :goodvibes

Thanks, Teena! That is absolutely what I was looking for.

I couldn't believe how easy check in was. We hardly stepped out of our car before Adrianna was there with tablet in hand ready to check us in. I'm not even sure how we knew who we were! Disney Magic, i guess (or security calling ahead :) She escorted us to the concierge desk in BCV beige handing us off. What a nice way to start our vacation.

I do miss the Admiral though. It's been eight years since we last stayed at BCV, and being greeted by this stately gentleman was something that we always looked forward to. Hope he's enjoying his retirement.

I see that the FAQ says we have access to Storm Along Bay on our check-out date, but it does not specify if this is all day or just up until the official checkout time. If we go to Epcot or HS the morning of our checkout day, will we be able to use the pool in the early-mid afternoon?
