A Whole New World of Disney ~ Lia's Birthday Shore & Sea Dream Trip! UPDATED 6/24!!!!

Oh wow, I almost forgot the insanity that was last winter. Frozen indeed.

Wow, for some reason the Flowers out front look way more intense and colourful than I remember. Just beautiful. I do miss Flower and Garden.

Aww, nothing like getting extra attention for your wardrobe especially when you actually put work into it. Love it.

Oh yeah, I would love to have a whole house full of Disney ornaments. Of course I would also love to have the money to be able to have a whole house full of Disney ornaments too. :)

The Aladdin and Jasmine m&g looks so fun. You do look really happy. :) I love their signatures, especially the "loves" part. :lovestruc

Beautiful pictures of Epcot and the flower and garden festival. We were there in March and the flowers were just gorgeous. :flower1:

I love all of the merch. I'd spend so much money too if I had it to spend on merch. :)

Lady was one of my favorite topiarys.

The food looks awesome!!

Fun trip so far....looking forward to the cruise to see how you liked it. Been on 2 and planing another for next year.

I am so happy you started your new trip report. I absolutely love reading about your adventures with Jess. My family is going on our first Disney Cruise in May so I can't wait to read all about yours.

Yes! I am here for another Lia TR!! Love reading about your adventures every single time!! Can't wait to read about the cruise especially! :cheer2:

Here we goooooooooooo!!!

I totally meant to go in the festival center when I was at Flower and Garden...now I'm not that sad I missed it! Oh well. And I am OBSESSED with that shirt from Germany. omg. I need it. Love your dress!

Love you trip reviews! Excited to read this one. I need that Alice in Wonderland lawn flamingo in my life asap!!

Ohhhh, yay! A new Lia trip report!! I just love you! (In a totally non-weird way, of course!) Your "stuck in Disney" report is what got me stuck on the trip reports board and I love reading about your adventures!

Sadly, Disney magazine is no more :( Every now and then, when I'm craving a Disney fix, I'll buy one off Ebay!

I love that you made your dress! It's great!!

Joining in... I loved my Disney Cruise, until I got sick so I would love to hear about your trip. I would love to have a redo. :)

Flower and Garden festival looks fun! I would also love to go to it one year, but for now I will just read your TR. :rotfl2:

Awesome to see another trip report from you Lia. Both Jess and yourself seem to have the most incredible adventures. I can't wait to see your cruise section, I almost booked a cruise this year myself, but decided against it, so it will be nice to see.

I wonder what adventures Hula Timon got up to on the ship?

Can I just say that I love that you can go off by yourself at Disney and have amazing adventures on your own. :lovestruc

Day 1, Part 4 In Which I Grossly Overestimate My Stomach Capacity

My next stop was Jolly ol' England. Hi Alice!

14873058357_59497028d4_o.png

I tried the Blush Lemonade and it was SO refreshing and delicious.

14872936650_5697a4f786_o.png

Moving on from there, around Canada they had this intense Sand Art going on.

15036597586_5364a42ca3_o.png

For me, Sand Art is when you get a clear, oddly shaped bottle at the County Fair and fill it with different colors of sand. For this guy, it's sculpting bears in Disney World. He's probably happy with how his life turned out, I mean why I am not doing this job right now? I love it.

I really was in the mood for some Mexican food by then so I went to eat at the Jardin de Fiestas booth and ended up getting both a dish and dessert!

15098060666_82b78e3a0a_o.png

This was the Taco al Pastor: Corn torilla filled with Achiote-marinated pork garnished with Grilled Diced Pineapple, onions, and cilantro ~ 5.50 and the Flan de Chocolate Abuelita: Mexican Chocolate Custard ~ 3.95

Both were great. I'm not crazy about corn tortillas (whole wheat/flour all the way!) but besides that I really enjoyed this, and that's coming from someone who never gets onions on anything and usually asks for rice with no cilantro at Chipotle. The pork marinade was delicious and I just love Pineapple as an addition to a dish that isn't a dessert, especially after having the Hawaiian Pork Slider at Food & Wine.

15121052725_ec06c75886_o.png

The flan tasted amazing, but it was just VERY DENSE. I realize this looks like a small portion, but it felt like a lot of food. I ate it all cause it was so good even though my stomach was like "GURL!" I would come to regret that a little but hey, stuffing your face in Disney is fun.

P.S. Does anyone else remember the Full House episode where Joey is depressed because they discontinued his favorite cookies, Vanilla Weasels, and so the family goes out to dinner and Joey keeps stress eating flan over it?! Every time I eat flan, I think of this. "ANOTHER FLAN PLEASE!!!"

This was my view during this time. Ahh, life was good.

14934488938_7ea312cd36_o.png

Okay so, when I say that flan was dense... I meant it. I ate the entire thing because it was so delicious but I shouldn't have. I think the croissant was also very heavy and I just ate and drank too much in one time and I suddenly started to feel very sick. It's rare that I do something like that - I mean what am I, 5? I can't stop eating a dessert before I overstuff myself? Sheesh. Oh well, it's Disney and there are food booths and vacation is vacation, y'all. But I was paying for it.

We all know the best thing to do whilst trying desperately to digest food is to go on a ride, so I headed into the pavilion!

14947853210_3dc4c581b0_o.png

I sat down for awhile just enjoying the beautiful atmosphere inside and wishing I would feel better. When you eat too much you can really only wait it out. I knew that in 20 minutes or so I would feel okay again, but I hated just sitting there doing nothing on my first day at Disney so I went to see my Cabelleros!

Looking around after the ride, I saw this flawless shirt that I am really mad at myself for not buying:

15131526981_b1b1a74463_o.png

UGH I LOVE IT. I hope it's still there later this month!

At this point I headed back to Future World to go on some more slow moving, non-threatening rides. First I hit up my beloved Nemo, which was extremely calming and made me feel a lot better! As soon as I walk in that cool atmosphere out of the sun, I always feel so great.

Next I went to the Land where I breathed in the delicious smell and saw my main Mouse!

15111507016_864e2d505b_o.png

I was jealous of that kid tbh, but not to worry, I would be in Mickey's arms soon enough!

I headed downstairs to live with the land for awhile...

15111506856_a545e241b2_o.png

I was feeling good again, so I decided I would head over to Test Track and check out the single rider line. On the way I spotted this awesome display at Mouse Gear.

15098062236_0c50c16c95_o.png

So many little Disney references in there! I just love any time one of the Toy Story toys is sitting somewhere... I can always imagine them jumping up as soon as humans are out of sight!

15120683772_a6925c973d_o.png

Test Track's single rider line got me on the ride within just a few minutes, and I have to say I still am not crazy about the changes. I hung out in the drop off areas for a bit since I never really take that good of a look. Sat in some of the cars and stuff.

I liked the neon art, which I had never really looked at before.

15120683202_f4be1e1ac8_o.png

I am thinking that I tried to ride Figment's ride next, but they had already closed it for the day. That made sense cause it was past 7 and not an EMH night or a Friday. Oh well, I'll see ya next time, Figment.

Day 1, Part 5 In Which We Sway With Goofy

I hate to be a horrible trip reporter but I honestly can't remember what I did next! At some point Jess texted me to say she was almost back at Epcot and so I decided to just wait for her to do what I wanted, which was hit up the Character Spot!

Once we were reunited, we went right inside with no wait, so that was perfect timing! First we met the lovely Minnie Mouse, who seemed to like my dress a lot!

I am not crazy about some of the awkward poses Minnie and Daisy like us to do, but hey, when in Rome :rotfl:

14111343332_38db05123d_z.jpg

Next, we met Goofy! He was so impressed by my autograph book!

14091255656_1d79c10bd7_z.jpg

I let him know again that I think he was robbed of the Oscar for Best Actor in The Goofy Movie, and he thoroughly agreed. That whole award show is a sham!

14091255676_e03c3d4e89_z.jpg

We got a ton of blurry pics because when we posed with Goofy, he suddenly became very taken by the music playing, which happened to be a weird instrumental version of "Part of Your World". He did a bit of interpretive dancing before putting his arms around us and swaying back and forth.

14934488618_edd5cef2c0_o.png

It was soooo funny, we were cracking up!

15121056215_bc256ed692_o.png

Love ya, Goof!

13927745637_1412fd3f43_z.jpg

Finally we met the big man himself, MICKEY MOUSE! Oh, meeting Mickey will never not get to me. Always emotional to see my childhood standing before me.

Mickey loved my book too. He seemed happy to have two whole pages and pointed out all the photos in excitement. I am so happy to have impressed the boss!

14091255576_10ff933ef1_z.jpg

I helped him out a lot so he could sign nice and big! Thanks, Mickey!

14114775994_d5dc0c2a77_z.jpg

We love him.

13927759169_9771ff5c84_z.jpg

That was so much fun! I highly recommend going to the Character Spot toward closing time, there was almost no one around and the characters took a lot of time with each of us. It was great!

From there we headed back to World Showcase. Jess wanted to hear all about what I ate all day and I groaned. I have to say, everything was beyond delicious and it was totally worth me being a glutton over. I will always recommend focusing on the food booths and not making dining reservations during Flower & Garden and of course Food & Wine.

Jess wanted a treat so she asked if it was okay if we went to Kringla. OH OF COURSE! We didn't have a lot of parkgoing time this trip, but I was just going with the flow. I'd had such a full day at Epcot and I didn't feel the need to rush around and do anything. I was completely content and happy with whatever we did. Ahhhh, Disney.

Jess got this raspberry (strawberry...?) roll thing... *checks menu*
Okay so it was the Rullekake - Yellow Cake layered with fresh Raspberry filling and Powdered Sugar - $3.99

14934358699_26374e6d43_o.png

We went outside and sat at a table while she ate, and she really enjoyed it! I was still so full that I didn't even want to get a School Bread for later. For me to not get School Bread... my God. I knew I was not going to be hungry until like 2017 so there was no point in saving it for another time.

After she finished we went on Maelstrom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AKA: the wildest ride in the wilderness!!!!!!

Always such a thrill on the Maelstrom, but what's even more exciting is the Norwegian boys. One of them flirted with us a LOT and I enjoyed it so much! I wish I could remember what we talked about... I recall Laila being a big topic because I love it and have for like 15 years, but can't bring myself to buy it. It's just such a "Disney scent" to me, and using it in my every day life would normalize it. We all miss certain Disney smells, foods, etc and so we try and duplicate them in our home life, but really the reason they are so special is because they are experienced only in Disney.

We said goodbye to our hot Norwegian friend and looked around the shops some more. I was honestly surprised that they STILL had not caught up to the demand of guests for Frozen merchandise. They had some Rice Krispie Treats with the characters printed on some icing and a few books, but that was pretty much it. Haha, I remember before the film came out, there was Frozen merch all over the Norway pavilion and I loved so many things, but wanted to wait til I saw the movie to buy. Next time a new film comes out I won't make that mistake, you know, in case it becomes the biggest animated movie of all time like Frozen did!

I loved the Anna and Elsa art in the window.

14934488098_0aae423da1_o.png

At this point it was park closing time, and Jess was about to head out but I wanted to go on through the joy and through the tears, so we stayed for Illuminations.

This awesome thing happened where everyone who was seated waiting for the show just STAYED SEATED and so we were able to sit on the pavement a few rows back and have a fantastic view! I loved it!

After Illuminations, we went shopping, duh! I desperately needed a Pooh pillow pet, which I had wanted now for almost a year. I miss my puppy.

14755774169_a0aba7dfbf.jpg

He lives in my bed now. Sleeping without Pooh Bear is just not something I want to do! The next pillow pet I have my eye on is the new Sorcerer Mickey one... NEED.

I'm kind of a Disney Gift Card collector and so I was happy to see these new ones... Minnie surprising Mickey with a gift and then below that, the two of them on Dumbo!

14934358189_90a6592ce2_o.png

So very adorable.

'Twas time to head out. I took a picture of this Art of Disney display because anything with Donald's nephews is too cute.

14934402940_9032c1079f_o.png

See ya real soon, Epcot!

14934360819_c5a07f98e3_o.png

Out to the parking lot we went and this time found Brooke with minimal error, YAY! We're improving.

We headed back to Jess's apartment. I was excited to finally sleepover there! Jess is kind enough to offer the invitation any time I want to stay, but this was the first time I got to! YAY!

I again marveled at all of Jess's awesome Disney art and merchandise that makes up 99% of her apartment. We put on Friends, chatted, and got ready for bed. The episode of Friends on was the one where Monica's boyfriend Pete randomly decides to try and become the Ultimate Fighting Champion LOL.

Here are some of the pins I found that day!

14934485958_c09847d7c7_o.png

Jess was freaking out about Pluto in the teacup! This pin and the one next to it of Mickey & Donald in the train are two of my favorites I got the entire trip. They are apart of a series where characters are riding the rides, and Jess had never even seen them before so I knew they were brand new! I guess they had just unleashed them because it turns out tons of CMs had them on their lanyards, which was awesome.

After planning out the next day (MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!) even more than we already had, we called it a night. One of the craziest and most fun days I've ever had in Disney was about to begin!

Great updates! Ugh, I hate feeling over full. I'm glad it didn't spoil your afternoon. Meeting Mickey will always induce tears and warm, fuzzy feelings in general until I'm 90. Love the pillow pets; I have the Pluto one. Those pins! Love the Pluto teacup one! Can't wait to hear about your birthday day!

@babybritney: Listening to Let it Go right as your plane lands to Orlando is pretty epic and tear inducing. RECOMMENDED

Love it!
The last time we drove though those lovely Disneyworld Arches Good Life by One Republic came on the radio. You know, the one they used in the Disney commercials for a while. It was kind of perfect!

The first thing I desperately wanted was the Violent Lemonade from the Pineapple Promenade booth!

Was it really Violent? Did it hurt you?
Just teasing. We actually were planning on naming one of our children Violet and my husband always said that during the terrible twos with all the tantrums he would call her 'Violent Violet'.

That was a slightly disappointing experience, but worth seeing anyway. I think because I am so obsessed with all things Disney, even if something doesn't knock me off my socks, I feel like I needed to see it anyway... if that makes sense.

We thought the same thing when we made time to go in there a few years ago. The only bonus was it was the last day of the Flower and Garden Festival and nearly all the merchandise was 75% off!!

Edited to add: I have no idea why the quotes are so big and I have no idea how to fix them. I guess I just wanted you to pay attention!! Oopsie!

Alright, I'm signing onto this TR! You're looking fabulous, by the way, great dress!

I wish my stomach was double the size it is because I just really can't eat enough good food sometimes! But I'm better if I space it all out through the day, I'm a snacker popcorn:: And so help me god if I don't get a schoolbread in February!!! I don't know what's the matter with me :sad2:

I haven't started my pin collection yet and I love the Teacup-riding Pluto! <3 I hope I can find him in May!
