I would really like to go to this…it is my birthday weekend (turning 36 on the 4th!) and I am trying to talk my husband into making this my birthday gift. We have never been to a DIS meet before, so we are a little nervous. Seems like most people know each other already…will we be totally out of place as newbies? We are a bit shy. Also we have 4 kids. Is it crazy to bring the kids to all of this? They are 12,11, 7, & 7. Sorry if these are weird questions!! I tend to get a bit nervous meeting a whole bunch of new people at once, but I want to help support GKTW and I have been saving up some money for a donation to them. Just don't know if I should bite the bullet and join the group or just donate. Thanks!!!

There are always new people coming to the meets...and a lot of us do know each other, but we are also FRIENDLY! In fact, right now a little less than 50% of the people signed up have not previously attended one of the NE DISmeets...so this is going to be a new experience for a lot of people!

I'm a little late but I hope you decided to come to the meet! We are almost exactly birthday buddies - I'm turning 36 on 10/5! I am totally making this event my birthday celebration weekend. Last year we went just for the podcast recording day and I am, like you - very shy and nervous around new people. Everyone was great and friendly and it was such a great experience to be around people that love Disney as much as I do.

It's really just around the corner now - I can't wait!
