Good morning everyone! Could it be that Dee has slept in and I, Buzzy the fly, am the first to give the wake up call and make the morning coffee for everybody?

Signed, Buzzy the fly, your Beach Club Resort morning guy!

Please do not leave your valuables unattended while at Walt Disney World!

This includes the:
Pools
Parks
parking lots
restaurants

On another thread a poster is reporting that people at the Boardwalk Resort pool area had their belongings stolen (Phones, cash, backpacks) while they were in the water.

This is just another timely reminder that thieves, including guests who may be compelled to steal, can gain access to your valuables if you are not careful. This can happen anywhere, including the "always in lock down" Storm Along Bay pool.

Another way of saying it is to be careful, keep your stuff safe and not unattended, have a great trip and give your neighbor the hairy eyeball so they think you are a bit touched in the head (like Ninja Mom) and they will tend to give you a lot more space.

~NM
PS. Though I've not heard of it, perhaps there are people who are looking to upgrade their underwear and go shopping in the laundry facilities at Disney Resorts. Just to be safe keep those tighty whities within eyeball range, especially if you are drinking and laundering as we are wont to do at the Beach Club.
Every so often I read someone got stuff stollen from pool or water park too. I guess that's where we are most prone to leaving un attended bags. So only thing I have in our pool bag is paper pack, sun screen, and comb/brush, and cover ups. And we borrow hotel pool towels for water park. I've even heard of people's beach towels being stollen. Especially the Disney ones. :sad2: leave cell phone back in room safe, or rent a locker, if I'm going to bring camera. Also have waterproof case on lanyard, but now with the MBs, really don't have to carry cash or cards
I don't however sit in the laundry room, I'm usually in the quiet pool waiting while laundry is in. Ugh, I really hope that's not going to become a problem!!! I haven't read anything about laundry theft yet either.

Love the packing list!! Oops, guess I forgot to pack the husband :upsidedow he's home pet sitting!!

We had a bit of a hiccup today.

It seems that if you make a plan and laminate it, you really should consult it. 8.30 this morning we are heading out to Ponderosa for breakfast before catching the IRide to Premium outlets for some shopping when I take a moment to glance at the plan. We were supposed to be at Seaworld.:scared1::laughing:

Grace update..thanks for thinking of her.

All her bodily functions are currently working. At the last minute, we said, "Do an X-ray while you've got her." They did....and she's got "stuff" in her belly. Vet doesn't know what. He wants us to watch her for 48 hours and do one final evaluation on Thursday morning...also known as 24 hours before departure for BC. The fear is that whatever is in her belly needs to be surgically removed. :worried: He stressed that he's pulled buttons and bottle caps out of cats and dogs, where the owners have said, "I haven't seen that in 3 years!," meaning that whatever is in her, may have been there for a while, and can stay there at least for the next two weeks or so. Here's hoping there isn't any sickness, or turning away of food in the next 2 days!

We don't sound like bad cat parent's do we? We'd loose a fortune if we canceled at this point, and truly, she's eating, drinking, using her box in all ways, and was chasing a fly about 20 minutes ago. If we hadn't asked for the X-ray, we'd have never known!

As Charlie Brown would say, "Aaaaaaaarrrrgh!"

I want Grace well, and I want my BC and YC!
I'm sure all will be well. Leave vet phone # with person watching Grace just in case.

Wheeee!

We got clearance from the vet today! She had gotten sick right after her x-ray...and the vet asked us how much. DP is a scientist and is better at estimating amounts. The vet says, "Oh! Well that's probably what I saw in her stomach on the Xray!"

:furious:

2 days of worrying for that? Almost canceled the first 2 days of our trip?

Charlie Brown time again.... Arrrrrrrgh!

Now I'll be happy. :woohoo:

She got a clean bill of health. Is behaving normally, and I'm off to run a million errands! We don't even need to pay a cat-sitter now. Between my family and a neighbor, I think the pets are going to be ok.
Whew!

Thanks for your kind words.

We have errands to run all morning, then maybe watch "Cinderella" this afternoon (a little pre-gaming), and dinner at our favorite restaurant with a friend we always have dinner with before a WDW trip. We fly out of Boston tomorrow at 6:05 A.M. and should be checking into BC by about 10:30 tomorrow morning!

I will try to post here sporadically while I'm there. Can't wait to meet so many of you on Monday! I already know that Teena is delightful and Dee is just a doll, and now there are so many others I get to know!

BTW...one of the ways we knew Grace was getting better, was that she was chasing a fly with a vengeance yesterday. No threats here, just saying Buzzy...watch your step. Or is about 20 min north of Boston too cold of a climate for you? :rolleyes2

Question about the temporary club level lounge. I am a coffee nut. I was wondering since the machines are gone (I can suffer through fancy coffee drinks ;) ) what kind of coffee is in the lounge now. Wondering if I need to bring my mini keurig

OK so... I put on a pot of coffee to brew then sat down to disboards This one is the first post I read! Having forgotten that I put the coffee on..... for just a split second I thought I was in one of those WDW attractions where you SMELL what is on the screen before you! :rotfl2:

Anyone else staying at the BCR in September but not planning to participate in F&W Festival at all? I actually wish we were going to be missing it but it's starting early this year. It's fine - just not our thing. And it can get so crowded at Epcot! :(

:wave2: that's us too! We'll be there opening weekend. We have two teeny tiny little people, so F&W just isn't for us right now. We're avoiding Epcot on the weekend and hoping it's not too crazy other than that.

Post 15: Be Our Guest list

:goodvibes

We extended our stay by one day, so we are now at YC from Aug 28 - Sept 2 instead of the first. Decided to stay and go to the first MNSSHP of the year.

Well...AP rate dropped yesterday and I moved from AKL back to YC..it was $9 more for a garden view vs the AKL Pool view...

It will be such a different trip than last month...LoL I don't know how I will survived non-CL and no Commodore Suite! LOL

Fudgsicles.

We were there during Isaac and it cleared out the parks.

No, no, no, no no..... There are no Hurricane threats currently forecast!

Tropical Weather Outlook Text

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
800 PM EDT THU AUG 14 2014

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days.

Forecaster Brennan
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note that this says FORMATION. So for the next 5 days no formation is expected. A hurricane would have to Form, grow in strength and travel which will take many days. The person who started this discussion may have been confused by all the hurricane activity in the Pacific ocean, as in Hawaii...
