2014 Beach & Yacht Club FAQ, Friends & Fun *DO NOT POST HERE- FIND NEW THREAD*

Thank you. As I've posted many times, this is our first trip, so ideas on what to do is based on what I've researched on these threads and on various sights. I like the idea of grabbing a breakfast snack and coffee (dining plan), then heading down to the BC/YC docks to eat and enjoy the scenery while waiting for the boat. The more I read about HS, the more I think waiting at HS for rope drop is not critical. We have a lunch ADR scheduled at the Sci-Fi one day, so we are planning on "doing" HS that morning and leaving HS after lunch. We schedule our lunch at 1:30 to avoid the lunch crowd.

If you hope to do Toy Story without a FP+ than rope drop at DHS is critical. The wait line for that builds immediately and stays long all day.
I would be at the boat dock no later than 8:00 if you want to do TSMM.
Have Fun

Great advice, thanks. TSMM & Star Tours are the only 2 attractions I'd schedule a FP+. We are 77 days out from our trip, and 17 days until I can book FP attractions. Being in our 50s, without any kids along, we do not want to go commando or rush from attraction to attraction. So, I am still planning before our FP window opens. I'm not even sure we will do TSMM; we loved TS the movie, but the TSMM experience is not really our style.

Just got my magic band yesterday for being an annual passholder. Not going to Disney until Nov staying at the YC. Not sure why I received the band so early.

Will I get another band before we go to the YC?

We are staying off property for 4 days before we get to the YC, so I know I will need the AP band but when I check in at the YC will they link my AP band to my YC reservation? I don't want to be walking around with 2 bands on my wrist!!!!

I don't know the answer to your question since my kids were older when we visited Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

I'm sure someone here must know the answer, but I do remember there was a Water Park FAQ thread on the Theme Park boards a number of years ago. Try searching Water Parks FAQ or "Typhoon Lagoon Life/Safety Vests" on that board to see what you get for hits.

Thanks Dee I'll try that

Thanks everyone for the boat to DHS info! :thumbsup2 We will plan to be at the dock at 8:00 that morning.

I recently read they are not opening 15 min early anymore. We have a thrill junkie who is now 48" and wants to ride RNRC over and over. So we are heading there first to see how many rides we can get in.

Perfect thanks!!! in all my times at Disney we have never done the water parks so I'm excited to hear this
Don't know what age your girls are but my ds was 5 last year and absolutely loved the ski patrol area at blizzard beach! It's on our list again this year assuming I can drag him away from SAB.

Yes, you will be able to customize a new band for
the YC trip. You will not have to wear two bands. The information from your MDE account is in a big database and not on each MB. So you'll be able to wear either the AP band or the YC band. We now have three sets of MBs from three different trips and we can wear anyone of them.

:)

Guys, I don't understand free dining? Rumors on other board that free dining will mirror last year, which means we would qualify.

We weren't really thinking about it, as we already paid for quick service dining. But free would mean we'd change to 1 table and 1 quick service?

If I'm already booked - package, Beach Club garden view, and free dining becomes available for my dates, I would need to call and re-book?

What if there are no garden rooms available (hotel is already showing no standard rooms for my dates)? Would I have to upgrade or switch hotels?

I'm not sure it would be worth it for us to do that, then I would have to pay for lagoon view! And I really want to be in Beach Club....

Thank you! Does anyone have the contact email for club level so I can contact them directly? I haven't heard anything from them :( Thanks!

Don't know if anyone is interested, but when the summer discount first came out I was unable to apply it to our YC CL LV rooms. Well, it is now available and it saved us an additional $2129.50!!!!! That brings the total summer discount savings for all of our reservations for 12 people to well over $7000!!!!

Just thought I would let everyone know in case anyone was interested in the YC CL LV discount rate. :)

Wow - what a great savings!

It doesn't get applied automatically. You'll need to call and see if they can apply the promo to your reservation. There are a limited amount of rooms available for the promo so you may or may not be able to. If there were none available for your type, then you'd have to change to one that was (different category or different resort) if you really wanted that promo.

Does this only apply to club level questions, or all yacht/beach club resort questions? If it's only club level, does any know the email for questions for the Beach club?

That is the club level email for both Beach/Yacht club. If you are looking for a general resort email, there is not one.

Awesome! I was torn between Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon but have been leaning towards Blizzard Beach so maybe that is the way to go. They will be 5 and 7 so sounds perfect.

Thanks!!!
