Can you please add me to the list? We are AKV-Kidani November 22 - 27th. I have a 2BR but think I may invite my sisters to join. Off to peruse the rental board to see if I can get another studio for that week! This will be a really fun, family vacation for us - our first in a long time for this family that LOVES to travel together!! So excited about AKL and the holiday decor!

Not weird at all! We usually buy a new flavored coffee to try on our trips. Don't forget you have to bring your own filters, too!!

I know this is going to sound silly...but yet it is still what I am most looking forward to...
All the years I have dreamed about staying at AKL with a savannah view. I have had the picture of me in my mind, sitting on the balcony before everyone wakes up and having a cup of coffee looking at the animals

Thanks for posting about the coffee I am glad that I can bring my own coffee and filters.

I have a tip, I usually just fill one of our refillable mugs with cream for my coffee in the morning.

I noticed I am not on the August list of who is going and when. I am going to stay at POR 13-16

I think someone mentioned this earlier, but they are the basket-type filters, not the cone style. At least they were in January.

I have rented DVC Standard View Studio in Jambo house.

Now, when I booked, I checked with two CMs first, and BOTH assured me that Standard view studio villa at DVC only overlook the pool. That if I booked a Stardard view studio DVC at Jambo house, I would have a view of the pool.

I even have screen caps of one of the online conversations where the CM repeatedly confirms this, because I was quite nervous.

Then I just read someone replying to someone who booked a Standard View Studio DVC Jambo that they might end up with a partial Savanna view, not a pool view.

Can anyone confirm or deny this ? I really don't want this to ruin our vacation, but its going to be a massive disappointment and stress if this is the case, but I would rather know than not know.

I can confirm this. We booked a standard view studio in January 2011 as we were only there for one night and just needed somewhere to sleep before getting on the Disney Wonder. All that was available using my DVC points at relatively short notice was Jambo House. Not that I am complaining. I adore Jambo House. This was our view:











I was absolutely delighted.

I'm really confused. You booked a standard room and would be massively disappointed if you ended up with a Savannah view instead of a pool view?

Also, I thought there were a handful of standard view rooms that look over the parking lot, according the diagram posted on the first page of this thread.

...from what I understand, a std view studio IS a pool view and the dlx studio is the savannah view.....

I've heard as well that the DVC Standard Studio view could be a partial Savannah view(or maybe I dreamed it up when i did the long haul of reading through this thread 2-3 months ago). Not sure which rooms they would be though. I would consider it a bit of pixie dust to get...which I'm hoping for come October when we go as we're renting as well. But I'm going to be asking for close to the lobby so probably not. We'll see, anything can happen at Walt Disney World!
