Good morning!!! Happy StPatricks day!!! The luck if the Irish helped me save $900 this morning!! Had to change to YC ...

NICE!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Please add me to the Be Our Guest List for May 10-17, Beach Club Club level. Thanks!

So fun!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Question? Do any of you follow EasyWDW or Touring Plans for crowd calendars? If so, who do you prefer?

We are coming for a short trip in April and so I am trying to plan the best attack for park time and relaxation time.:thumbsup2

Thanks!

Hi. I use Touring Plans and have for a few years. I find their information to be pretty accurate and very useful when planning my trip.

Does anyone know the pool hours (the big pool) for May? We were there in January and it closed at 9. I'm hoping its open later in May.

The exact thing just happened to me! I too was booked GV at BC and had my heart on staying there... And I also had to switch in order to save 1000. I've never been more disappointed to SAVE 1000, lol! As much as I wanted to stay there, I could not NOT make the change to save that amount of money.

Yep, me too! I even called back early this morning to see if they released any more rooms for the discounted rate. They hadn't.

They still have GV and WV rooms available for full rate. We'll see if they eventually change those to be applicable for the promotion...

The new promotion has a bigger discount for the Yacht Club than for the Beach Club, which is why so many people are saving more money by switching to the YC. The YC has a 35% discount if you stay 6 or more nights and the BC only has a 25% discount. The YC has a 30% discount if you stay 1 to 5 nights, and the BC has a 20% discount for that.

Ten percent is a huge difference when the rack rate is so high. ::yes::

I am so happy to be joining this thread! I was booked at the BWI for 10 days in August but couldn't get the new summer discount applied. Switched to YC and saved $1500 off my original BWI reservation. DS13 and DD11 are BEYOND thrilled that they'll be able to swim in Stormalong Bay. This is our first foray into the "Deluxe" category and we're looking forward to a great trip from August 2-12, especially now that we've got some extra money for dining and souvenirs :) Woo hoo!!

Is there a place to refill the refillable mugs inside the YC resort??? I can't seem to find a sure answer to this question?

I have followed EasyWDW for my last two trips (May 2013 & Nov 2013) and never had to wait more than 30 mins for a ride.

You can refill your mugs at the Ale and Compass in the YC until noon. After that time you'll have to go to Hurricane Hanna's by the pool or to the BC Marketplace.

Are you sure? I thought BC was 30%/35% off and the 20%/25% was only for BCV.

Definitely, YC is 35% for 6 nights or more, 30% for 5 nights or less.

BC & BCV are 25% for 6 nights or more, 20% for 5 nights or less.

I had priced out the discount at BC but ended up saving much more once I priced out at the YC due to the larger discount %.

Additionally, for some unknown reason, the rack rate for GV at YC is listed at $10 less than the BC ... so that added in some additional savings. I don't know why, but I'm not complaining.

Hi everyone!

We are arriving at YC on August 16 for five nights. This will be our first deluxe stay and are very excited, and have been gathering lots of information from this great thread. It would be myself, DH, DD16, and DD12. Because of the cost of flights, it was cheaper to book a late arrival flight into MCO on August 15th, arriving at 11:30 pm. The plan is for us to stay overnight at the airport Hyatt and take ME the next morning to YC. We do not have any park plans for our YC arrival day (also DD’s 12th birthday :cheer2:) – just explore the resort, spend the afternoon at SAB, and then head out for dinner.

However, I’m also considering whether we should just soldier on and go straight to YC instead of staying overnight at the airport. When I weigh the pros and cons, this is what I come up with:

Hyatt:
- PRO: Cost would be $50 cheaper.
- PRO: Can go straight to check in after arrival and pass out in bed.
- CON: Will have to schlep luggage and check in twice at two different hotels.
- CON: Room at YC may not be ready when we arrive, even if we come in first thing. But a PRO would be that we could still have a good choice of room locations.

YC:
- PRO: Only need to check in at one hotel.
- PRO: Can sleep in and start vacation right away at home resort.
- CON: More expensive.
- CON: Would arrive at YC in the dark. Not as fun as arriving at the hotel or driving under the Disney arches in broad daylight.
- CON: Very late check in so room location choices won’t be as good. We are booked for a standard view room, and so far my location preferences are a high floor and close to transportation.

I’m really on the fence on which way to go, but was leaning towards staying at the Hyatt since we are not in a hurry to be at a park for the first morning. What would you do?

Thank you, I was about to ask that same question.

Do you happen to know what can be refilled in the mug at the Ale and Compass? Such as coffee or cappuccino?

Question for U wonderful knowledgeable people. Where is a good place to get lobster and shrimp on disney property? We r on the regular dining plan if that helps.

Thanks amber

I've just checked on the Disney website and Captains Grille is back to its normal dinner menu. No sign of the buffet that was there earlier.
