Just popping in to say HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY my friends ::yes::
Don't forget to wear your green and have fun "drowning your shamrock"-in a most responsible adult fashion of course :thumbsup2

Wow! NM, make sure you tell your friend those pics are outstanding. The colors really pop! :thumbsup2

Totally agree! I love nighttime shots, and these are excellent. I don't think I've ever seen the loungers arranged so neatly, and I'm tempted to go save mine for this weekend...anyone got a spare towel? :rotfl:

Here are some pictures a friend sent me of the resort. I asked and was told that Dee could use them for the information page if she wanted.

The Crews Cup Lounge I think??

~NM

Those are great pictures, NM. Your friend did a really nice job.
But I'm pretty sure that is Martha's Vineyard. We were there just this last January.

I am getting very excited - we will be at the BC in only 2 days! :woohoo: And the weather forecast right now is for temperatures in the low to mid 80's. My husband has been packed since yesterday. :upsidedow

Good morning!!! Happy StPatricks day!!! The luck if the Irish helped me save $900 this morning!! Had to change to YC ...

Congrats on savings! Yeah! Why did you have to change to yc? Were you previously booked at BC already?

page 133-135

Wow only a 50% chance?!? I'm going to try to amend our YC reservation if the summer discounts go live this week. I was afraid that we might have to switch to BC but the balcony is a MUST for us so that stat you mentioned is good to know. The main reason we choose a deluxe is for the balconies. We also like to sit out there and have some down time while my son naps. I've read out there before, and at night we love having some wine out on the patio. We learned that if we relax on the bed while waiting for our son to sleep we get sleepy too which is not always ideal. We need adult time too! ;)

If the balcony is too important to leave to chance, then you are better off at YC

:thumbsup2

I have had so much fun reading this thread. Thank you to all of you.:worship:
I cannot remember if this has been asked :confused3 (probably has:rolleyes1) but there has been so much other fun stuff to enjoy & learn.

So does anyone know.... (of course someone does, :wave2: ya'll know everything :wizard:)
How many Club Level rooms have full balconies?
How many CL rooms are there?

Can't wait for June to get here! :woohoo:

Have a great day!

Thanks for the kind words.

According to my notes, there are 73 BC CL (regular) rooms. Not sure how many have full balconies, but it is the majority of them. Maybe a dozen or so have the smaller, Juliet balconies.

All of the rooms in the BC CL Garden View category DO have full balconies, but not many of these rooms have daybeds, so this category is not able to be booked for parties with more than 4 members.

Hope that helps!

:)

We took this route several times (usually from MK to BC) and it's about 45 mins. We definitely didn't do it as a time saver, more a sanity saver. We weren't often in a rush to get back to the resort and rather liked avoiding the bus via a stroll through EPCOT. It's an enjoyable adventure and we plan to partake again this summer.

So what's this chatter about Captain's Grille being a buffet for dinner? When did (or will) that go into affect? We liked grabbing a sit down dinner there but would not want to go if it becomes a buffet.

Saw a post about it on the restaurant board: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3249833

Has anyone heard about this?

:welcome: and thanks for the this interesting link!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

This was the first I have heard of the possibility of a dinner buffet at Captain's Grille.

I don't like that idea at all. CG is a low-key, quiet, uncrowded place to dine, and I have been impressed with the menu.

It will be interesting to hear what happens.

:scratchin

Saying hello...we'll be back at our favorite Disney resort this July! We arrive on the 17th. Can't wait to show it all to my mom for the first time.

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

:woohoo:

What time should I plan on leaving the room (garden view) so I will be certain to get to MK for rope drop on June 2?

This will be my first time staying onsite, first trip as an adult and first trip ever for my kids (ds12, ds8, and dd6).

We want to spend our first full day in the MK!

Thanks!

:welcome: to this thread and to the DIS!

I'll add you the Be Our Guest list that we keep on Page 1. BC?

:cheer2:

The responses you received about the time to make rope drop were good. I am assuming this is not an early opening since it is a Monday, so I would agree that being at the stop at about 8 would work.

:thumbsup2

Staying at BC in early August in a GV room. Does anyone have any preference for location/room #'s. We would like an upper floor with a full balcony on lagoon side of building. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

Just in case I haven't given you an official howdy,

:welcome:

I don't have you on the Be Our Guest list for August, so I will add you.

:cool1:

Your best bet would be to put in your request in words(by calling Disney's Central Reservation Office), listing your most important priorities first

For example-

"Full balcony, please. Upper floor, lagoon side (or courtyard view), if possible"

:)

:welcome:

I saw in another thread that your trip is in a few weeks. I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for April.

:)

Wow!!! These are great! Please extend my sincere gratitude to your friend.

Congrats on savings! Yeah! Why did you have to change to yc? Were you previously booked at BC already?

Yes I was already booked at BC GV but they had no availability for discounted rooms for my dates... At all .. So we now are at YC w lagoon /WV....I feel like I should be happier.. Had my heart set on BC but just couldn't pass up the savings ... I made the right choice right?

The exact thing just happened to me! I too was booked GV at BC and had my heart on staying there... And I also had to switch in order to save 1000. I've never been more disappointed to SAVE 1000, lol! As much as I wanted to stay there, I could not NOT make the change to save that amount of money.

Absolutely!

I bleed Beach Club Blue but I would not hesitate or be disappointed to stay at the Yacht Club either. Especially if it came with a $900 savings and Water View to boot!

It also takes the anguish out of whether you will get a full balcony.

I love the YC way more than BC...and was THRILLED the discount was higher at YC!!!! I would have felt such disappointement if it were the other way around but for that big of a savings I would have dealt with it. And the balcony issue is GONE at YC....

Thanks for the reassurance!! I feel slightly happier now lol!!And the full balcony was important to us so I'm feeling better about my decision .. YC here we come!!

Yes the balcony was a huge thing for us too so that is a benefit for having to switch. With 5 ppl in the room that extra place is a huge commodity - also will be lovely retreat for me and my husband in the evenings!

Just got off the phone with our TA. She called with great news about the discount for our 6 night stay in June at the BCV! Doing the happy dance. (Ok, not dancing, but still very happy) :-)

For the be our guest list:

bea1776 June 1-8 BC GV (First Trip!)

There will be five of us in the room (2 adults, 3 kids ages 12,8,6). Is there anything I should put as a special request, or am I better off leaving it blank?

And today is the second most painful day of any trip. With the first being the day the trip ends, the second most painful day is the day you have to pay for the trip.

Still, I am so happy to be able to provide magic for my family. Thank you all for your advice, opinions, and responses. Here's to the 7 week mark! pixiedust:

Another one who jumped ship last week. Saving over $1,000 off the AAA rate we had at BC even going from standard view to garden view. Originally, I was just going to modify existing reservation and that was a savings of $300+, but then asked about YC and got the much bigger discount.

We often sit at the tables at SAB over by the YC side so that will be a shorter walk. We will be the first ones on the bus going to the parks and the first ones off on the way back. We always walk over to check out the extensive merchandise in Fittings and Fairings so now can peek in there some more. Closer to Crews Cup which we eat at as well as Captains Grille (but won't be doing dinner if it changes to a buffet). Love the bar right in the lobby.

At least those are some of the things I am looking forward to staying at YC after staying at BC the last 6 years.

Congrats on the savings!

We too booked the YC instead of BC because of discount. It was a close 2nd so we don't feel like we are sacrificing anything .

I am also interested in the whole captains grill saga. I booked an ADR for our may trip based on the regular menu . The only research I have done so far is check the MDE app on my phone and it had the regular menu. Of course , I think it would take time to convert if this is true . Fingers crossed this is just a rumor or it happens after my trip

Perhaps if there was nudity involved. That's always a big draw on this thread...

I think we need to confirm if this is actually true before we strip down for the protest. If it is true we will have to make like one of those shrimp at the Cape May buffet and peel it all off!

~NM

Sign me up for the protestation peel off. At 4'11", I truly am a shrimp but not as tasty as Disney would require for their buffet line.

I'm really bummed about this potential sit down loss. DH and I enjoy grabbing light bites at CG (splitting an app and entree kind of thing when the kids ditch us for greener pastures in the evenings) and there is no way we'd get the value out of a buffet. The menu on MDE is the original sit down dinner menu but the dinner menu on the actual WDW site is showing a buffet menu. Maybe it's just a temporary thing??

Thank you Wood Nymph for offering to get to the bottom of this. Hope you have a fabulous trip!
