NICE!!!!!! I am actually booked at BC and we are non-CL for the 1st time in a couple of trips. :faint:

But, our trip is completely paid for now...so I am just going to sit back and wait for August....:cool1:

Wishing for a nice discount for you!!! pixiedust:

Last summer was my first non CL trip in 6 years and we were upgraded to water view on the top floor and honestly I didn't miss club at all! this year DD is bringing a friend so I thought I would get more value from the lounge as a party of 4 and we would have some extra space to send the girls too while we got ready etc....So back to CL for us!!!!! Wish your trip was in June - feel like I know you!:goodvibes

One of these days our trips will cross!!!

It took a lot to give up the CL, but I think well be totally fine.

The price certainly doesn't hurt!! :goodvibes

hi everyone!!! great thread!!!! well, this September, dw and I are going to be staying at the beach club. we have been dvc members since 99 and are okw (retirement village :lmao:) people.
this past year we were down 5 times in eight months to visit our dd who was a cm on the college program.( just have to come down and watch your only child work in the mk.) we managed to use all of our 810 points available so we are going to be staying non dvc this trip.
my wife and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary on this trip and we are looking forward to it!!! (we were 19 when we got married :thumbsup2)
I also made a resi for Victoria and alberts for us and my wife has no idea. SUPRISE!!!! :rotfl:
we always stay in a one bedroom and have our laundry in our room.since we wont have the machine in our room this trip the question I have is what type of payment do the machines take anymore?
over the last few years we have also stayed at the contemporary and the poly. at the times we stayed in each one, they both had a different method of payment. one still used quarters and in 2012 at the poly. there were no coin slots and had to swipe your room card. now, the room card is going by the way side so did they go back to coins or do the machines read your wrist bands? :rotfl2: (life use to be simple :lmao:)
any help would be great and thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

which resort was renovated last, YC or BC? I'm reading resort reviews on other threads and they talk about YC rooms being run down.... not cool

I believe it was around 2009. We stayed at YC in April and our room was in perfect condition. :goodvibes

just counted back and it has been 8 years since we last stayed there. They still had the old boxy televisions ;) . Wondering if BC would be better for us since it's a little closer to EPCOT. The rooms look a lot nicer than the old decor too

Before I had kids I said I'd never bring a child under 5yo...too many memories of my first trip, with a rotten 5yo sister I guess lol. I took my oldest DD when she was 4 and I was pregnant with #2, deciding it was probably better to go earlier than I had planned than for her to miss a trip waiting until her new sister was 5. Then when DD 2 was 8 months old my mom offered to take us to WDW when other family visited, who was I to say no? :rotfl2: and we survived the trip. DD2 wasn't the easiest child, but she did well on WDW trips, I guess she just blended in with the other noise. We started getting APs when she was 2, and since we're local, we visit often, mostly day trips, but manage to spend a long weekend or three every year. And always hear "you're going AGAIN?!!". Enough so, I dont tell people I'm going, and save my excitement sharing for here where people get it. :lmao: We had our "unexpected blessing" when the big girls were 8 & 13...her first trip was when she was 3 weeks old, and she's pretty much grown up with WDW as her playground. For the people who say you're nuts for bringing little kids who don't remember, my standard reply is "but I remember, and enjoy every minute of watching her experience it however she may".

Thanks!! Wheezing is pretty much gone ... still have a cough though. I'm not too sad this time leaving. Jeanne arrives for her "adult" spring break on April 12th (Lily's Daddy and his family have plans for spring break and want Lily along so Jeanne gets to come to Florida alone and sleep in and have some adult fun and I invited her two best friends from PA and they are flying out for four of the days ... we have lots of Disney plans those days with adult attractions instead of Lily attractions ending with a fun night at Hoop Dee Doo ... definitely not a Lily thing yet). Jeanne will be here for 7 nights. Then I fly back out here to spend Mother's Day with the girls and Jeanne's birthday (5/14). I always come out for that!! Then the girls come for 2-1/2 weeks in the summer. So it's not too bad saying goodbye this time. And Lily and I Skype all the time ... greatest invention ever!!!

I really miss being in the BC Lobby and seeing all my guests!!!

Teena - how exciting.... so much Jeanne and Lily time. We are coming down the week before Easter when your girls are in town. Maybe we will run into you

:offtopic:

Love it when friends without children feel they can comment on the right age to bring a child to Disney World.
Pay them no mind:thumbsup2 We get harrassed because we go all the time (AP's) and we don't have kids... " why are you going back... you don't have kids"
I just ignore

Or people who tell you that you take your kids to Disney too much....

How is there ever "too much Disney???" :rotfl:

We get that too and laugh...

Your "adult" spring break sounds wonderful. I love when our adult daughter comes to visit without the kids. We have such a good time together. I love the grandkids but it is really nice when we can have some time without them. :)

Teena - we'll be looking for you in the lobby soon. I hope you'll be working Mar 23rd-24th so we can say hello. I know we have seen you on other trips, we just didn't know it was you. ;)

Just celebrating a little.....can August get here already?!? :cool1:

Doing the OFFICIAL PIF DANCE!!!!!!!!

:dancer:party:

Yeah!!!!! I will be joining you at the PIF dance VERY soon for both my upcoming trips :goodvibes

Fast passes for pool chairs! :hyper:

:thumbsup2

We returned late Friday after an awesome week at WDW and the BC. We had a spectacular room location although the room was oddly shaped and our first floor patio was basically non-existent. I'm sure it was because we had a corner room. But ... we were just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Marketplace and the door leading to the outside and "secret" door to Epcot was right outside our room. I know you shouldn't request a specific room number when making reservations, but I certainly wouldn't mind this room in the future (hopefully there IS a future visit).

Weather predictions called for rain almost every day, but it never really happened. One afternoon was about it. The sunshine and warmth were perfect for this Wisconsinite!

Was surprised at the crowd levels given it should be a slower time of the year, but I don't think any time is all that slow any more.

If I can convince DH, we should be heading back in January with the whole family. Sadly that won't involve a stay at BC (likely POFQ), but for the chance to go to WDW, I'd gladly stay almost anywhere.

Glad to hear you had an awesome trip!!

MOUSEMOMMY Well per your sage advice, I upgraded to CL at YC! You and Teena helped me remember how convenient those morning breakfasts are! Though I am sure a box of pop tarts in the room would suffice! :rotfl2:. At any rate, I made the switch the other day...now just praying for the June discount to roll out!

Woohoo!!!

No idea about the laundry just wanted to say congrats on 30 years and your upcoming BC stay. This is a great thread so ask away! :-)

We're making a quick getaway to BC this weekend...checking in Friday and out Sunday. We don't plan on leaving the resort at all and I'm so looking forward to it, it's been awhile! :cheer2:

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Have a great trip!

:cool1:

Dee -

We'll be at the BC in just two weeks from today and I can get pictures of the current tea selections if no one else gets them sooner.

Thank you!!!

Last I knew, the washers and dryers in the laundry room were coin operated, but I don't know if that has changed. Has anyone done laundry at the Y&B in the past month?

which resort was renovated last, YC or BC? I'm reading resort reviews on other threads and they talk about YC rooms being run down.... not cool

As others have mentioned, the Beach & Yacht Club rooms were last renovated in 2009. BC first, then YC.

I haven't seen widespread comments here on this thread about the condition of the rooms at either resort. Some of the hallways definitely need to be redone (BC CL floor, I'm looking at YOU!), but I have not witnessed or heard about the rooms being run-down.

Hi all!

Does anyone know what the online check in options (buttons) are for Beach Club Villas? My only point of reference was CBR and they had options for upper or lower floor, corner room, etc...

Thank you!

Thank you!

This is what I have in the FAQ, but I'm not sure if this info is current

Beach Club Villa 60 Day Check In:

Room Request Options-Choose 2 out of the four listed:

Near Elevator
Lower Floor
Woods View
Larger Balcony*

Can anyone who has stayed recently chime in and let us know if these are still the options given.

* As far as I know, all of the rooms at BCV have full balconies. Are there some balconies larger than others at BCV?

Off to youngest son's parent-teacher meeting! Wish me luck! Clever adorable child who sees no earthly reason to use 2 different colours to paint a picture when "1 is quicker and you get to go outside for play sooner" !Here's hoping his teacher is the understanding sort who "gets" my son
All good - no need for all that worry at all :lmao:

Ah yes. The "you're going back again" brigade :crazy2:

Or people who tell you that you take your kids to Disney too much....

How is there ever "too much Disney???" :rotfl:

Pay them no heed whatsoever sure they've not a clue what they're talking about these naysayers :lmao:
