Ooooo, can't wait for the major Dis meet!
Awesome update! Your room at Boardwalk looks amazing! I would love to stay there some day!
Kathy,
A little late in sending along my Christmas wishes to you and Mark. Hope you had a magical day filled with wonderful memories with your family.
I posted on our pickle thread, but wanted to tell you that our DS Paul was able to come home for a few days... the best gift to us this Christmas.
Kathy
Great photos of BWI.
Thanks, Janet.
Had to laugh when you mentioned that your view looking straight out blocked out the scary clown pool. Although creepy looking, I would love to try the coaster water slide some day.
Nope, you won't see me going down that slide and through that clown's mouth.
Love that Mark had to have stickers (I like getting them too! )
He has a Mickey Mouse sticker on the front bill of EVERY single hat he owns!
As we didn't get a chance to visit any of the Epcot resorts to see the decorations, it's a nice treat to see your BWI pix. (love the garland under the Dumbo figure.)
Hi Kathy - it looks like you had a wonderful Christmas on FB.
We did, and I am glad that you did too.
Loved the Boardwalk pictures - it looks like such a fun resort.
It really was; it's a great area.
I would be so disappointed with the view - but yes, the bright side is that you didn't have to see the clown.
The view didn't bother me this trip because I knew we wouldn't be in the room but to sleep. If I had been there longer and planned on some "resort" time I would not have been too pleased.
Am I the only one who thinks the Boardwalk rooms are in need of a serious update? You can tell they were once beautiful - but they just seem so tired now.
The kitchenette area was very nice as was the vanity for the bathroom (except the carpet). The rest of the room looked like it needed some TLC.
Can't wait to hear about MVMCP!
D~
The Boardwalk looks like a great place to stay if it wasn't for that freaky clown slide.
Yeah, I don't like that thing at all. I will have pictures later on as we walked over to the pool.
I can't think of a much better way to start a trip than going to the MK for a party.
Looks like a fun first day so far! I just love the Boardwalk.
I was so leery of staying there and am now very glad we did (as you'll see later in the recap).
Hope you and your family had a great Christmas!
Thats too bad you aren't coming to NYC this spring but I understand.
A lot os all up in the air with not knowing if Mark is going to be at his job at the end of the year or in six months. The good news is my girls trip is paid for except for meals and our September trip the resort is paid for.
Mark needed his Mickey stickers at checkin?
Just wait until you meet him. You'll think he's one of the kids!
Wow your room was ready? Awesome! We never have that kind of luck.
We've had good luck with our room being ready most of our trips with the exception of twice at OKW and once at the Coronado. Every other time our room has been ready.
Love the view from your room. You should post that pic on the worst room view thread.
It really was bad, wasn't it? And that was a garden or water view.
Heading to MVMCP? You guys waste no time.
Nope we don't. After I bought the tickets for the party I almost kicked myself in the A** in case we had troubles getting there with the weather. But it all worked out in the end.
I hope you and Mark had a wonderful Christmas!
Great pics!
Great update!! Can't wait to hear about the DisMeet!!!
Thanks, Linda. Soon we will get to the DISmeet.
I think I would have been a little sad about the view from your room. (like I was from our room at Beach Club). That always seems to set the tone for my vacation.
Like I said previously, if we had been there longer and had a lot of down time, I would have been sad. But this trip it really didn't matter.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!
Yeah for a great check in and a room that is already ready and waiting!
I love when the room is ready!
Love the photos of the room - guess we need to try and stay at the BW one of these days too!
I think you would like it Karin; and it is so convenient to so many things.
How fun that Mark needed some stickers too!
Oh… BTW, my first post on the DIS was in November 2008, and you responded to my thread about CSR.

I was such a NOOB.
YAY you are at the Boardwalk, I can't wait to hear what you thought of it but glad check in went so well! I hope you had a magical Christmas Kathy!
What a great start to your trip so far!
Thanks, Dee.
Your room is ready at a beautiful resort AND everyone got stickers!!!
I was so happy the room was ready so I could change into shorts. Yes, ALL of the kids were happy they got stickers.
Although my heart remains with the Beach Club, Boardwalk is also very tempting to me. The location is great and the theming is really nice. Such a gorgeous lobby!
I think I mentioned it before, but I didn't care for the Beach Club. I would probably stay again and give it another try, but we really liked the Boardwalk. The lobby is gorgeous there.
Looking forward to hearing about your evening plans! Party! Party! Party!
Wow... you really were.Oh BTW, my first post on the DIS was in November 2008, and you responded to my thread about CSR.

I was such a NOOB.
That's the good kind of busy though.Since I did such a short update yesterday, I thought I'd get in another short one today since we will be busy with Mark, Alisha and Rolo until late Sunday morning.
I understand that staffing is usually the issue, but nothing irritates me more than sitting around waiting when I see empty tables. We had about a 20 minute wait before we were taken to a table. And it really ticked us off as there were plenty of empty tables. I think they were very understaffed.
There's always room for ice cream. We all had room for dessert.
Yuck. I know you like the Plaza. It's disappointing that it didn't quite live up to the standards.Overall, it was an enjoyable meal. But for the first time in ALL of our meals here, the service was absolutely horrid. Slow, unfriendly and not cheerful at all. Mary and I have decided to skip it with the girls in May/June, but Mark and I will do it in September...it is a tradition for us after all.
