Official 2013 MVMCP Information

Where do I go to get updates, photos, news, etc. from tonight's (first) party??

From what I gather, the party is pretty much the exact same every year, though, right? Why don't they seem to change things up at all? Do they think they have it perfected? (I haven't been to the party yet, so for all I know they have.)

I posted photos and updates on my twitter if you want to check it out. We were at tonight's party and we will be at Mondays too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask or PM me here to at twitter and I'll see what I can let you know :)

We were at the party tonight. We arrived at 5:00pm and Main St was already packed with people starting to wait for the parade. We took some photos along Main St. At 5:30pm, we *got in line for Santa and we were third in line. Santa came right out at 7pm, just as it started to snow on Main St. By the time we finished visiting with Santa, the line was 45 minutes to meet him.*

We headed up Main St to the hub. The street was already full of people sitting on the gutter for the 8:15pm parade. We watched the 7:45pm Celebrate the Season Show. It wasn't that busy as people were lining up for the parade. Loved the show, it's the same show as last year.*

Afterwards, we headed into Tomorrowland. We stopped by the Dance Party inside Cosmic Rays, called Club Tinsel. When we visited, Santa Goofy and Pluto were there. It was very busy. Later in the night, we saw Chip and Dale. We stayed for a little while, danced and took some photos, then headed to Storybook Circus. Donald, Daisy and Scrooge were meeting together at the entrance. We waited about 20 minutes for them. Scrooge is *in his normal blue coat, Donald was dressed as a lumberjack. Daisy wore her pink and purple dress with a purple scarf.*

We went into Fantasyland afterwards. The Hundred Acre Wood Gang were meeting but their line was already cut. We passed by Minnie (line was about 15 minutes when we walked past) and found Wendy meeting by the Castle Wall behind the Carousel. She usually meets near Peter Pans ride but that section of Fantasyland was closed prior and during the fireworks as the wind had been fairly bad. We met Wendy in under 10 minutes. She was wearing her winter blue outfit with a scarf.*

Mary Poppins was meeting next to the Carousel so we jumped in their line. We waited 15 minutes and met Mary Poppins and Bert in their Jolly Holiday outfits and 2 penguins.*

We remained in Fantasyland to watch Holiday Wishes (amazing) Straight after the fireworks, we got in line for Rapunzel, Flynn, Snow White and her Prince. We waited 10 minutes for them after we got out, the line was back up to 45 minutes. The longest I noticed the lines for both sides of the Princesses was 50 minutes for Rapunzels side, 45 for Cinderella. *We skipped Cinderella and Auroras line and walked to Frontierland. We stopped for cookies and cocoa and found a spot for the parade. We managed to get a front row spot at 10:15pm in Frontierland. We didn't go inside but as usual, Woody, Jessie and Bullseye were having a dance party inside the Diamond Horseshoe.*

Absolutely loved the parade. It's the same as last year, Daisy and Donald have a float instead of the carriage this year. Rabbit wasn't there tonight.*

Afterwards, we bought some MVMCP pins from the location in Frontierland and then lined up for the Country Bears. Their line was small, we waited 5 minutes and there was a 10 minute wait when we left.*

We walked through Adventurelane, got more cocoa and cookies. Prince Ali was meeting with Abu but we would have gotten Genie and Jasmine if we had gotten in line so we skipped them. Tink and Periwinkle had a 15 minute wait at 11:15pm so we kept walking to Main Street.*

We took some more photos and Celebrate the Season had started so we watched the show again. Once it was finished, we headed back into Tomorrowland again. Stopped by Cosmic Rays at the Dance Party, Chip and Dale were there. The dance party was very quite this time, about 30 people were there. We took some photos and then left.*

We caught the end of the Tomorrowland Christmas show with Stitch, Mike and Buzz. Looked like a very cute show (will catch it on Monday) This show started at 11:45pm so the party was finished by the end of the show.*

Main St*was still very busy by the time we were walking out. Photo pass started packing up by 12:30am with only 2 photographers still out at 12:45am. One Balloon Seller was still out at 12:30am but she headed inside soon afterwards.*

Only the resort monorail was operational by the time we left at 12:45am,*which does stop at TTC.*

We had a wonderful time the party! We will be going back on Monday night too.

Thank you so very much for all of the information, Disney_Princess83! We can't wait to attend the party next month.

On twitter, @insidethemagic and @wdwmickeyhunter were doing updates.

Do you know if the party was sold out? Just curious because it was so crowded last night.
Yep- it had been sold out since earlier last week! I agree, last nights Xmas party felt much more crowded and congested than last weeks last Halloween party, which was also sold out.

How do you know if your party night is sold out?

It was crowded but only really around Main St which is normal. The other lands were fairly quite through the night. We got a front row spot for the 10:30pm parade 15 minutes prior to it starting in Frontierland.

You're welcome. We will be there again Monday so I'll post another review then too. :) Will be posting live updates on twitter too if you're interested too.

I agree. Main St was crowded, but everywhere else was great. And ride lines were outstanding! We walked on Pirates, Thunder Mountain, Small World, and Under the Sea, had a <5 min wait for Buzz and Haunted Mansion, and a 10 min wait for the Jingle Cruise, Enchanted Tales, and Ariel's Grotto. There was a 10 min wait for Space Mountain and Pooh, and no wait for Grand Prix or tea cups--although we didn't ride these this time. Not because we didn't have the time, though.

Lines were short for hot chocolate and cookies-- except in Adventureland. We saw the late parade, but just walked up and watched over people's heads near the castle. It was definitely crowded there!

It was my first hard-ticket party ever (we have APs, so never saw the benefit for the huge financial outlay--and even this time it was just me and some adult friends), so I don't know what's typical for one of those parties, but this one was a sell-out. But based on my experience, the fact that we are ride people, and the fact that we aren't planning to renew APs next year, we will definitely plan to attend the Halloween and Christmas parties instead! Even at a sold-out party I had a better ride experience than a low- to medium-crowd day. And those are getting harder and harder to find.

Do the party characters all meet until midnight, or does it depend on who it is? I'm wondering if we'll have more time to do characters after the 10:30 parade if we can't fit them all in before Wishes. I have 4 main character groups I'd like to see, and they are all in Fantasyland, but I don't know if I'll have time depending on how long waits are. I figure the best bet to cut down party time waiting would be to get in line early for the Dwarves, hopefully get to see them not long after 7, and then jump to Princess Fairytale Hall for the Princesses/Princes. But this year, unlike the last party I went to when they were in Town Square Theater, it'll be 2 separate lines/waits in order to see them all. Any advice? I want to see Celebrate the Magic at 9:15, so allowing time to get back to Main Street, that leaves probably a little less than 2 hours prior to the show to meet characters.

Oh yeah, and one more question. Is the Celebrate the Magic show during the Christmas Party the same one as before regular Wishes on non-party nights? Because if it is, I might be able to skip it, since I plan to be at the MK on an earlier night in order to see the Dream Lights lit. I don't want to do that on party night since I'd like to get in line for the Dwarves prior to that.
