Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Does anyone know if we can catch a boat from the Polynesian resort to the Fort Wilderness campground? Or would we have to catch the monorail to the Contemporary and catch the boat to Fort Wilderness from there? I am thinking of planning an 'Ohana dinner followed by the Chip and Dale campfire sing along for our next trip.

Assuming the MK is still open you could do a boat from Poly to the MK and then transfer to a boat to FW. I think your plan of monorail to CR and then boat to FW might be a little faster though.
Another option is boat or monorail to MK and then get the bus to FW.

There is no bus from MK to FtW, just the boat.

Perhaps you were confusing it with the bus from MK to WL.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason I thought there was a boat to Ft Wilderness from the Poly?? Maybe I was confusing it with the boat that runs from the Contemporary to Ft. Wilderness. So I guess the quickest way would be monorail to Contemporary and boat to Ft. Wilderness? Or I wonder if it would be faster to catch the monorail to MK then boat to Ft. Wilderness from there?

On average, it should be faster catching the boat at MK:
  1. The monorail ride is 1 stop shorter;
  2. The walk from monorail to boat dock is shorter.
But it's probably only a 5 minute difference, so if you've never gotten on or off the monorail at CR, it's kind of a neat thing to do.

Thank you, that definitely makes sense and I will keep this in mind.

Let's play a game! Who can advise me of the best way to get places! Wooo hoo! lol. I apologize in advance that I'm so completely clueless.

Okay here are the trip parts I still need to figure out transportation on.

1. BLT to ESPN WWOS = Take a bus to All Star resort and then a bus to ESPN?? Then obvioulsly how to get back to BTL?

2. BLT to Animal Kingdom = Straight Bus from Contemp? and back.?

3. BLT to Downtown Disney = Straight Bus from Contemp? and back.

4. BLT to Hollywood Studios = Straight Bus from Contemp? and back.

5. BLT to Boardwalk = No clue on this one

6. BLT to Epcot = Monorail?

My last one, where is the Beach and Yacht club? That's an epcot resort right? Is that close to the Boardwalk? I was looking into going to the Beaches and Cream Rest but can't figure out where to fit it in. We can't do it on our Epcot day because we already have reservations.

In regards to the buses how far in advance should we get there to wait for the buses? Do they leave once an hour?

Thanks so much in advance for any advice you can provide.

BLT - MK: walk or monorail
BLT - Epcot: monorail, change trains at TTC
BLT - AK, DHS, DTD: bus from CR

There is no direct transportation between CR & other resorts, except those on the monorail and the Wilderness resorts by boat. Best route when MK is open is walk or monorail to MK, catch bus to resort from there. After MK closes, you'll generally need to use DTD as a transfer point.

BW & BC are both Epcot area resorts within walking distance of each other, BUT there is no transportation between them and the Epcot Monorail station. Get the bus at MK, or boat at DHS when that park is open.

For EWWS, get to MK, then bus to Pop or an All Star, then bus to EWWS. The buses to EWWS run only when events are scheduled, and only every 30 minutes.

All other buses run about every 20 minutes, usually more frequently around parks' opening & closing. Including wait times, you should allow 1 hour travel time between resort & park; 1 1/2 hours between 2 resorts when a transfer is required. Walking to the MK is about 10 minutes; monorail to MK about 20 minutes if no delays.

I'm staying at one of the partner hotels on the road by DTD the night of arrival, I need to get to the CR the next day...any idea the cost of a taxi?
Note= I was strongly advised against taking my luggage on the resort shuttle to the MK to catch the monorail over.

Somewhere between $20 to $30.

You were advised correctly. I'm not sure about the resort shuttle, but you absolutely cannot take your luggage on any WDW transportation.

Very good to know. I was wondering why i couldnt just drag it over to DTD and catch a bus. Now I know.
thanks!

hey everyone, I need to know the quickest/easiest way to get to these places. These are options I am playing around with at the moment, and I am at 180 days on Wednesday so I need help ::yes::
Also any ideas on how long these would take?

1. AoA to Poly to WL back to AoA

2. Poly to Epcot (I assume regular bus right?)

3. AoA to Contemp to BB to DHS to MK (no I probably won't try to get to all of those lol)

Thanks!

Well, the quickest and easiest is always going to be a taxi, but if you want to use Disney transportation:

1. Bus to from AoA to MK, then boat or monorail to Poly. Then boat or monorail back to MK, then boat to WL.

2. No, you walk to the TTC and take the monorail.

3. Bus to MK, walk to Contemporary. Bus to BB. I'm not sure about BB to DHS - I think you'd have to take a bus to an Epcot resort, then walk or take the boat to DHS. Then bus from DHS to MK (which stops at the TTC), then monorail or ferry boat to MK. But I would not try to do all that in one day.

My apologies if this has been covered...I don't have time to read through all the threads and the searches I did, didn't come up with an answer. I just realized that I might have an opportunity to try 4 parks in 1 day. I had already planned on getting 3 in, but realized AK has early hours on this day so can hit that park before the others are open. Question - what time will buses start running between AK and Epcot? Or is my best bet to get on a bus to AKL and then go from AKL to Epcot?

Buses run from park to park from early morning...exactly what time, I can't say. But if you're at AK for EMHs, you should be able to get a bus to Epcot around 9ish.

Thanks much! Was hoping In could leave maybe 8:45 or so but if it's 9 surely I can still get a FP for soarin and TT. Or just ride single rider line for TT. FP+ are used for HS rides. This is a case where the one park rule for FP+ kinda bites.

I will be staying at the Contemporary and need to drive to the Grand Floridian for a late night reservation. The map looks like I have to do a U turn somewhere. How do I get there and back?:confused3

Ok I am looking for the fastest way to get to Animal Kingdom in the morning from the Boardwalk Villas? It seems everytime I try to take the bus from the Boardwalk it takes FOREVER to get transportation.... Help!!:scared1:
