I'm certainly no expert as we just returned from our first stay at POP but I'll share our experience. We requested 50's section/building #3/lakeview. We got just what we requested and were placed on the "back" side of the Tramp building. We were on the second floor so not exactly "lakeview" except for thru the trees. It was a pretty view though. I more wanted a non pool view room than the actual lakeview.

I don't know that I would do it by requesting a specific room number. If that room is not available then they don't really know what you were looking for. As others on here have suggested, I would have your requests in the order of importance noted on your reservation. You can always ask for a different room if the one assigned is not what you want.

Thank you! That is what I was wondering. I was going to use a room number for reference. But didn't think about just saying lake view. That would be easier. Thanks again!

I was at POP this past Jan when some BTG were staying there (and they have been at POP even prior to that). I have found that POP's mgt tends not to allow excessive bad behavior. It has been my experience that they 'nip it in the bud' before it gets out of hand. They run the resort pretty tightly.
My last trip in June, I saw security paged and moving around at least four times. I was introduced to one of the main securiity gentlemen. He was VERY nice! I think they try very hard to keep POP peaceful, fun and safe for ALL of its guests. I don't get that vibe at the All Stars....the CMs aren't as friendly and don't seem as happy to be doing their jobs, but maybe that's just my interpretation!

Not true....they have been staying at POP for a few years now...just not in the large numbers as the All Stars...but they are there.
I have been there at the same time...this past January...they were fine and well behaved at POP. They just made the food court busy in the early A.M. and they had a bus specifically for them. So they had little impact.
And my POP CM friends told me this wasn't the first year for them.

that's gopod to hear. we have stayed at pop often and never noticed them. but we haven't been at pop in July.. we had trouble with them in July at all star sports.
I am happy to hear that the Pop staffe "reins" them in!
at Sports it was just the opposite. the Cms defended them! siad july "is Latin month" at WDW and they are OUR guests"

wish all the CMs would do as they apparently do at pop! thanks for the info!

Our magic bands were just delivered! We are so excited for our stay at Pop next month and can't wait to try the magic bands!

How did you get them?? On my MYW app, it doesn't show any magic bands at all for us. Our arrival date is 09/21/13. Are still too far out at 60 days to get them?

Same here I am going 9/8 and I would love to try magic bands but my Disney experience does not say I have any magic bands. When did you find out you were getting magic bands?

In August, Pop guests are included in a Magic Band test along with a few other resorts. It appears those going in September won't be included in this specific test.

We are travelling during this time and I am going to call tomorrow to make sure I'm NOT getting the magic band. Living in Canada, I can't access the MDE website so I wouldn't be able to book fp+ . I'd way rather have the ability to use regular fp on my trip!

Mine came as well.. I seriously can't wait for vacation. I'm only waiting for my photo pass plus stuff to show up and oh yeah pack to.

Mine came yesterday - 3 boxes of them!! One for our 2 night AKL stay, 1 for the first part of our Pop vacay, and one for the second part (2 reservations at Pop b/c of a code that came out).

So....guess I am bringing 12 bands with me and will let WDW figure it out..

If I'm not mistaking, 50's section, lake view top floors. I'm trying for the jukebox building myself.
