**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

Quick tip: Wife and I just back from two great days at Food & Wine. Make sure you "shop" around for Beer and Wine Prices. For example, a 22 oz. Dos Equis was $8.25 at the Mexico Kiosk, but if walked 15 feet to the L'Hacienda Counter Serve Counter the same beer was $7.75. We found this to be true at a number of locations, and honestly a little disappointed that Disney would pull something like this.

I know it's only .50 cents but if you spend a couple days there is can add up

Is there anyway to get a recipe from a culinary demonstration? I lost my recipe page sometime in the moves between hotels this trip. Thanks!

Just got back from 7 days at walt disney world!! We had a fantastic trip. We attended the French Regional Lunch on 10/28. I forgot the name of the dessert but I would like to go on record by saying that the dessert they served was hands down the best dessert I ever had in my life!!!! It truly was amazing..We enjoyed the lunch and plan on attending similiar events in the future.

We didnt find the crowds to be to bad..However we did not go on a saturday but was there friday and sunday and found small lines, never waited more than a couple of minutes.

My favorite booth food was the shrimp tacos in mexico..you can also order this same dish at la hacienda but we found them to be better at the booth.

also the avocado lime margaritas in the tequila bar are worth the hype as well.

We fly in tomorrow, and will wrap the festival up (leaving 11/14). We have been doing a 9-10 day trip every year for the past 7 years, but we may be cutting back in the future since the deminars have gotten so expensive (we do 3-4 a day on a lot of days). Looking forward to PFTS on 11/5, and then on 11/13 we snagged the V&A Chef's Table.

Thanks for all the reviews! The tuna poke is where we're going first!!

TAMAR, You must go over to the Bull and Bear at the waldorf astoria. Same location as Bonnet Creek. This was by far one of the best dinners we have had in a long time.

Have you been there for closing day before? That is the only day we will be there and are a little nervous about crowds and the kiosks being sold out of popular dishes.

I was at F&W a few years back on closing day and it was like any other day.

I've sent out all requests for my F&WF lists. If you made a request and haven't gotten it (them) let me know.

If you would like one, send me your email by PM. Basically, I took the official brochure and copied and pasted the menu of each Kiosk. I did one in regular font with, and without, beverages and the same in a larger font. The regular font will fit on one sheet of paper, both sides, and is in a 3 column format (easy to fold) The larger font will need 2 sheets and is in a 2 column format.

Happy snacking!

BTW-reading what some of you are planning on spending makes me very happy we will have lots of SC to use. :cloud9:
I just wanted to publicly thank Dizneydaz for sharing her very handy F&W guide. Organizing it by physical location around the WS made it so easy to locate everything we wanted to try!

I customized it for our stay, removing things we weren't interested in and highlighting our "must try" food and wine items so we wouldn't overlook them. It was great having a custom F&W guide that fit on one sheet of paper!

It is not my experience that the booths run out of food on the last day but I have seen them run out of a couple of beers.

Aww shucks, thanks! Glad to do it.

Just returned from the F&W! Had a wonderful time eating and drinking our way around the world. :)

The seafood dish from Ireland was a knockout as were both of the dishes from Argentina. The Empanada from there was voted by all of us as the "best" of the "best". The crust was so delicate it melted in your mouth and the savory filling was to die for.....

We visited F&W on a Sunday and it was soooo crowded and very warm. We cooled and soothed ourselves with those extra yummy avocado margaritas from the cave. We took a nice rest on a bench next to the main fountain and watched all the people taking funny pictures of themselves in the sombreros. The avocado margaritas (I was a little skeptical) turned out to be as described: Delicious!!! One of the best drinks I've ever had.

It happened to be my birthday and someone was doing a live radio broadcast next to the China kiosk. We were eating our pot stickers and were joined by a lively group who insisted on singing "happy birthday" after seeing my birthday button. So, if you happened to be listening to the radio, you heard "my" song. It was just so much fun!!

I looove the Food and Wine show. We spent 2 days there this time, as the food was especially good. Thanks, Disney. :)

We got here Friday, and are having a wonderful time. Lines were long yesterday, but they kept moving. PFTS was so much fun we are thinking of going again next weekend. I only have one complaint: we shared our stand-up table with many visitors thorughout the night (including the lead singer of Night Ranger for about 10 minutes) and at the end of the night we had inherited one extra wine glass.

The castmembers at the front door would not let us keep this glass. They said we could only exit with one glass per person. What's up with that?? :confused3 We use our glasses from PFTS at home and occasionally break one, so we were happy to be able to bring home an extra from 2011.

I'm going to have to research this for a future trip! If it's the same caliber as V&A, we WILL want to try it as we enjoy mixing theme parks and fine dining during out vacations!!

Thanks for the tip!

As of yesterday, the Brewers Collection at Germany has run out of the Roog (smoked wheat beer) which is no longer available for the duration of the festival - but they said at the booth to look for it again next year as it has been so popular, maybe they will order a few extra kegs.

I left there Saturday with the wine glass and four beer glasses (the beer distributors were allowing guests to keep the beer glasses) and they put all five glasses into bags and said nothing. Maybe it is because I had only one wine glass.

is there a thread on these boards anywhere that keeps tally of food & wine festival offering's popular vote?

like to see what the top rated or favorite foods and drinks were as according to the people here... not the critics?

if anyone could link me to it, i'd appreciate it. i did a couple forum searches and came up empty.

There is nothing like that on the boards to my knowledge. I know there was a suggestion to have one thread for each booth, but the board can't handle 28 separate threads, and there's no way to do a poll with that many options.

I second that it was great.... good food and atmosphere we had a lot of fun :)

Please keep this thread to discussion of the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. If you'd like to discuss specific restaurants, please discuss them on the main board (as the restaurant being discussed is not a Disney restaurant, the place for that may be on the Orlando Attractions board.)

Check out the food survey at All Ears. They have a survey monkey set-up with all of the festival marketplace offerings. Great info!!

I just booked my package for next October, and told my agent that I was superexcited for the Food and Wine Festival. She told me that there was an admission fee to attend the festival. She thought it was like $150/day,but that it was worth it for the amenities.

Is this true?

If so, I've got to totally rethink my meal plan.

I thought you could just walk up to the booths if you're on the Epcot grounds, which we'll be doing with our Park Hopper pass.

I thought there were special events that cost extra, but I thought you could purchase food from the booths using your meal plan and other forms of payment.

Please give me the correct story!

Thanks!
