Favorite Songs that most people have probably never heard of

My favorite song -

Old Hat by Harvey Danger :lovestruc

Also;

New York City - by C.U.B (but I like the cover by They Might Be Giants best)

Love that song! It's actually very popular in my neck of the woods.

Blister in the Sun is popular here too! Comes on the radio fairly often, believe it or not. Reminds me of junior high...you were not cool unless you liked the Violet Femmes.

Mine are...

The Seventh Stranger by Duran Duran
&
the entire Stealing Home soundtrack

World Falls by Indigo Girls
Looking Out by Brandi Carlile
My Song by Brandi Carlile
The Llama by Rose Polenzani
Superball by Michelle Malone

Anything by the Tragically Hip, they are HUGE here but once you venture out fewer and fewer people know who they are.

Unless you lived in Pittsburgh or the Ohio Valley in the early 80s, you probably don't know the song Ah! Leah! by Donnie Iris. Excellent power pop/New Wave song that always takes me back to my high school days when I hear it.

ooooo I'm going to be good at this game haha :goodvibes

I'll keep it mello just in the unlikely event people actually want to check them out lol

- Watching Over Me (Alive in Athens, live version) by Iced Earth ...makes me cry every time
- An American Trilogy by Manowar .....Kings of Metal take on a classic
- Fantasmic by Nightwish ...tribute to Disney animation
- Ice Queen by Within Temptation
- Delilah by Bruce Dickinson...Greatest Metal vocalist of all time covers Tom Jones for charity
- Generation Wild by Crashdiet.. LA Glam from Sweden haha
- Center of the Universe by Kamelot
- Another Angel Down by Avantasia

That's a great song! Actually saw a Youtube video recently of a toddler singing it... he did a great job too!

No More Words--Yello

Probably NOT the "No More Words" most of you "heard" in your head when you read it.

Everything Touches Everything - These United States

Oh Babe What Would You Say - Hurricane Smith

Road to Hell - Chris Rea

Happy When it Rains - Jesus and Mary Chain (not that uncommon, but rarely run into people who've heard it).

Angel from Montgomery - John Prine and Bonnie Rait

Wishing the Days Away - Billy Bragg

You Dirty Rat - Scruffy the Cat

I'm a Man you don't Meet Everyday and Summer in Siam and Fiesta- The Pogues (actually love almost all Pogues songs and seems like no one ever
knows them).

And then there's all the Bob Dylan songs I love (Don't Think Twice, It's Alright, Desolation Row, Tangled up in Blue, I'll Remember You, Queen Jane Aproximately...). If you like Bob Dylan, you've heard them. If not, you probably haven't.

I know there are tons more, but I'll stop now. :)

So Alive.....by Love and Rockets

LOVE that song!

I was going to ask if you were from Buffalo and then saw your location :thumbsup2

I love that song, too!!!

My favorite song that nobody knows is P.A.S.S.I.O.N. by a band called Rythm Syndicate (yes, the misspelling is correct... that sounds weird. LOL.) It was hugely popular circa 1990 and NOBODY I know knows this song. I flippin' LOVE it and it's not available anywhere.
