The Port Report: Frumpin Around the World with the Bathrobe Princesses :) COMPLETE

Storm Along Bay looks so nice, I'm glad you guys were able to have the chance to swim at least once.

Mmmm I miss the red bean ice cream, one of my definite fave desserts at Disney.

Looking forward to more:goodvibes

Gorgeous pictures of YC! It feels like summer here today so a swim in Storm Along Bay would feel so nice right now!

Lotus Blossom Cafe looks yummy! Have you ever been to Nine Dragons? it's sort of a "sleeper" restaurant in Epcot; I wonder how their food is.

Nice update! I love the cs at china! We discovered it in dec and I fell in love! I loved the ginger ice cream which I've gotten at china ts and loved it there! The portions are good IMO. I'll be here till the end and I'm going to check out the videos this weekend!

Being at the Yacht Club really did make it perfect for you guys to head into Epcot to get some lunch before ME came. What a great plan!

Yay! I am glad you got to swim in Stormalong Bay! It is my new dream to stay at the Yacht or Beach Club. Glad you got to take advantage of the pool!

Of course you had to go back to Epcot. Great use of time. I saw that ice cream in your videos and was wondering where it came from. Sounds really interesting.

Looking forward to the last trip and real life updates!:)

I've really enjoyed your trip report and loved the videos! I even sent the video with 50's Prime Time to my husband to show him what some of the waiter antics can be like (it's been 11 years since we've been there). It looks like you all had such a good time - thank you for sharing your trip with us! :)

I love the gorgeous weather in the pics, which are great! :thumbsup2 We have had thunder, lightening and rain today so will just enjoy the sunshine on here instead!

Yay on finally getting to experience SAB and spending some more time at Epcot! Lotus Blossom Cafe food looks yummy! Looking forward to reading the last update :sad2: and the real life updates as well!

Phew, I did it! I finally got all caught up, and I have loved reading every last bit of it. It definitely brings back so many memories of going with friends. While we did not go "frumpin around the world," I think we were more all about matching/coordinating outfits.

And if my little girl continues to love Disney like she does now, I'm definitely going to try to take a girls trip with her! So fun!

Now I just have to catch up on some of the videos. Love the prom pics too. Gorgeous - love the hair!

I just watched all the videos for your trip. They are pretty awesome! I've had a little slideshow I put together for my first trip with pictures for awhile and I used the same version of "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" as in your last video. It always makes me sad since it reminds me of WDW so much. :') And what software or program did you use to make the videos? :-) I'm so sad this TR is over already, it was such fun to read. Luckily, I'm reading your other TR. :thumbsup2

Thank you! And aww, isn't that a great song? It's just so cute. And I used Windows Live Movie Maker! I am sad it's ending too! But don't worry, I will mostly likely have some type of trip report going ALLLLL the time :thumbsup2

Wow, you update just as I'm making a late comment on your TR. Win for you, fail for me... LOL Moving on, I can't believe how pretty it was. The sky was like that perfect sky you rarely ever see and the water at the pool looked gorgeous. This also looked good with the Yacht Club since the color tones are so similar. :thumbsup2 And lucky you to have a later Magical Express and go to EPCOT one last time! The French Bakery is always a great place to stop (I had to hold back on buying something from there last time, but everything looks SO GOOD!) But I've never really checked out China, but the food there looks awesome. I've heard many good things about the Strawberry Red Bean Ice Cream, so another must-do for my long list of foods to eat at Disney Haha Well... it seems this is only an update away from the bittersweet end :'( Well, as I said in my last post it has been great reading this TR, definitely one of the most enjoyable I've had the pleasure of reading. :)

Haha it's okay! I'm glad you caught it! It was beautiful!! I couldn't even believe it. And yeah, I agree it made the Yacht Club really show off it's full potential!
Yes, I always like to make late flights so i can enjoy my morning! I need to go to that French Bakery again and try something new! It all looks so delicious and is extremely overwhelming!
Mmm that ice cream is SO good! I would definitely add it to the list! And aww I am so glad you like it! Thank you so much for reading!

Yeah! I'm glad you got to go swimming for a little bit...Storm Along Bay looks so nice!

Me too! It was BEAUTIFUL!

Thank you! And I know, right? I love swimming when it's super hot out ahhh I can't wait for summer to be in full swing!
I have been to Nine Dragons and I really love it. I enjoyed it a lot. It gets a lot of mixed reviews however I enjoyed it both times I was there!

I'm in for the long haul honey!:thumbsup2

Thank you! And oh yes, it was Kristen's reccomendation and it did not disappoint! I love it too! I have never had the ginger flavor.. I don't know if I can part from my precious red bean flavor :lmao: Those portions are perfect, I completely agree! And aww I hope you enjoy the videos!

Great TR im really enjoying it!:thumbsup2 And great job on those videos! Cant wait to hear the last part!:goodvibes

I know... I have wanted to stay at the beach club since I was in middle school and it still hasn't happened yet! But I'm glad the Yacht Club gave us the opportunity to go over there and use SAB!

Girl, i ain't eaving now!! I have enjoyed it to much to do that.

Your welcome and yeah, it is a great song! :-) Ooooohhh.. that's what I have, I thought it was different since some of the effects were different, but I guess not. I must play with it more :thumbsup2 That's awesome to hear you are always writing TRs, I've definitely been enjoying this one and the other one you are writing, so with this reassurance, I won't have to wait too long :goodvibes

I usually don't post very much but I wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed following both of your trip reports. You are a very talented writer.ood luck with your future plans.

Yeah I like used to use regular Movie Maker, but now that I updated my computer it's LIVE Movie Maker so the effects are newer. I hated it at first because it's laid out differently than the old movie maker, but not I actually love it and think it works really well! It just gets slow sometimes.. that's why some of my clips are so short!
And aww thank you so much! Yeah once I finish up this one, I have the February Trip and I am going to start up my Mother Daughter trip report about the trip I took with my Mom in April! And then that'll probably take me till Christmas, and then I'll start up that one :thumbsup2 So lots of fun stories to come!

Real Life Update #3 - Our Cooking Success!
April 16th, 2011

Alright so, if anyone asked you what is deemed the best dessert in Disney, what do you think the most common answer would be?

I would have to say that I would expect to hear the Bread Pudding from O'hana at the Polynesian.

Guess what we decided to do one night?

That's right - we made our very own Bread Pudding with Banana Foster Sauce at home!

We did this back in April, and I've been meaning to post about it for so long now. But I guess better late than never, right?

Haha okay! So, the cooking crew consisted of Me, Kristen, our friend Nat, and my Mom! We just got home from a chorus concert and going out to dinner, and we really wanted a delicious dessert!

Th best place to look for a good recipe is my favorite cookbook ever - Delicious Disney!

DEER FACE!

If you're interested, here's the recipe for the bread pudding:

Delicious Disney said:
1) Preheat the oven to 350.
2) Mix together 5 large eggs, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and 3 cups of milk
3)Stir in enough bread cubes to fill about 10 cups. We used the recommended Challah bread and it was FANTASTIC! Also stir in 1 8-ounce can of pineapple, 1/4 cup of shredded coconut, and 1/4 cup of raisins.
4) Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes.
5) Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and bananas foster sauce.

Alright. So we mixed in all of the ingredients and here's how it looks in the bowl:

Kristen wore her monorail shirt just for this occasion. "Por Favor Mantanganse Alejado de las Puertas!"

dsc0147ze.jpg

Mmm we were so excited to eat it! The pineapple made it smell REALLY good!

dsc0157t.jpg

We spread the bread pudding in the pan

dsc0163ce.jpg

and put it in the oven!

dsc0166t.jpg

While we had to wait a little over an hour for the bread pudding to come out of the oven, we decided to make the bananas foster sauce!

dsc0173kw.jpg

However, it smelled like it was burning. And I think that it burned. But, we still kept going with it anyway!

dsc0180ed.jpg

Yay for Cooking!!

dsc0178z.jpg

We cut up all of the bananas!

dsc0189w.jpg

And put them in the sauce!

dsc0206ty.jpg

Ding! The bread pudding was ready! YAYY this was so exciting! We took it out of the oven so it could cool.

dsc0209l.jpg

And then, the best part - time to EAT!

We put on our scoop of ice cream and the banana fosters sauce!

dsc0211kt.jpg

Nat was especially excited to dig in!

dsc0215nm.jpg

Our friend Alicia came over to sleepover that night after work, and once she arrived we just finished making our dessert! What a nice treat for her to stumble upon! YUM!

dsc0218ac.jpg

I have to say that it was absolutely delicious and very similar to the dessert at the restaurant! Unfortunately, I was so overwhelmed by my whole first experience at O'hana when I ate there, so I can't exactly remember how the real one tasted. But I know it was good. And I know this was good! And I really want to make it again!

Great Success!

I can't believe that Alicia went over to your house to eat this wonderful looking dessert and she didn't tell me about it!! I think we need to have another Disney party this summer and make it again ;)

Cooking Bread Pudding from O'hana is a great way to spend the evening! :thumbsup2 Looks like you had a lot of fun making it and it looks delish! Makes me want to have a cake or something sweet now!

mmmm... that looks SO yummy. Great idea to get a taste of Disney at home. I'll definitely have to check out that cookbook on my next trip:thumbsup2 Do you live at the beach? I thought I spied water behind Kristen in one of the pictures. looks pretty!
