** Official ** March 2011!!!

Packing & picking up last minute essentials! We leave Wednesday evening for our first POR stay which we are ALL very excited about. Our first full day is St. Patrick's Day, the boys are going to attempt the Bayou Pirate Adventure (Aidan's participation will depend on group size/CM comfort with special needs), then to DD on the ferry boat, SHOPPING, dinner at FULTON's & finish up w/a horse-drawn carriage ride through POR & POFQ!

Can't wait! Next parks, parks, & more parks COMMANDO style (we know no other way LOL).

Safe Travels everyone!

If anyone is interested, have started my PTR....link is in my siggie!

I posted this on the facebook group too but my parents and sister arrived safely. My mom called from the Magical Express and for a while I couldn't even hear her because the bus driver was making an announcement and asking if everyone was ready to go to WDW. Everyone was cheering. Not fair!

Also just got this picture from my sister...

Looks like a beautiful day!

Only 2 weeks left for me and my other sister!

We are home as well. It was incredibly busy most days although since it was our first trip we wouldn't know what slow was. BUT, it was so crowded at MK on the Saturday we were there that it was shoulder to shoulder and front to back in most sections with 90 minute waits for things like TMRR, Splash, PP, IASW, etc. Wild crazy but we had a wonderful time!

Ok people, I am usually a lurker on every message board I've ever been on but tonight I HAVE. TO. POST!!! I am so excited!!!!!!! We're going to WDW from 3/26 to 4/3 and for some reason since we're now 14 days out my excitement level has skyrocketed! As in, I can't think about anything else! I can barely contain myself! AAAAAAAAHHHHHH! :) I knew you all can relate so I had to post. Wheeeee! I just spent two hours scrolling around Google Maps orienting myself between our resort (staying offsite at Orange Lake) and the parks, DTD, ESPN Wide World of Sports (DH and DFIL seeing a Braves game), etc. And now I'm bursting with excitement!! Deep breaths, still 14 days to go!

:banana::banana::yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2:
:yay::banana::banana::cheer2::cheer2:

Perhaps I should channel this energy into something productive...cleaning my house, packing, writing my first pre-trip report???? Yeah, that first option doesn't stand a chance! :)

Nikki

welcome Nikki!!!

we are staying at POP 3/29 - 4/6 and AKL 4/6 - 4/9 and are at 13 days until we leave :cool1:

have fun getting everything together, the next two weeks are going to fly by!!

We leave a week today!! Started packing, but still have to gather some stuff together, and I work all week so still have real life interfering with my DW trip plans! We're excited, but have also been battling colds here so just trying to get better before we leave. Not a cold all winter and then wham! two weeks before we go we get sick. Isn't that just the way? But better to get it over with is my motto! Hoping for good weather, as we're sick to death of cold and snow here in BC. We're driving to Spokane, staying over, and flying out from there so are trying to do the trip with just carry on luggage :scared1:

I know the crowds will be crazy but we're just going to have our must-do's and then wing it for the rest of the time. Not going to let myself get crazy pushing us, as I also want to come home somewhat relaxed if possible!:rotfl2:

So happy for everyone who is going......I got home this afternoon.

BEWARE.....it is more crowded than I have ever seen it, except for the height of summer time. Where did all these people come from?????????

We ran into the same thing. We booked this time of year purposely because the crowd level predictions were so low. Had hour or more wait times on a lot of rides. :confused3 It was still Disney, so I'm not complaining, but it was a little disappointing - mostly b/c I wasn't prepared for it. If I had expected big crowds, then I would have been in a totally diff't mindset. Oh well.

Just a heads up to everybody to be prepared. Fast passes work wonders, and its a beautiful time of year to be there! But, you might want to have a "plan" for the parks. We didn't bother figuring out what we most wanted to do or anything b/c we didn't think we'd be in any rush. As it turns out, we missed a few rides we normally do b/c we just ran out of time.

Thanks for the heads up. We have our 3-4 rides we really want to do planned out, and everything on top of that is gravy. We are also planning at least 1.5 days at MK and 2 full days at either HS or EP, one at AK. We have a 7 day pass. Hopefully we'll be able to see what we want to, ride the rides we really want to ride, and just enjoy ourselves, busy or not. Thanks.

We are leaving Tues night (3/15) til 3/21 . So excited! While we have been to WDW many times in the past 25 yrs this is the forst time we are staying on property (CBR) in about 7-8 yrs and we have the DDP! I hope I can concentrate at work on Tues because I'll be so excited to catch my flight right after work!

The more I research this trip the more I realize the importance of a plan when you go into a park - which ride you want to go to in which order and when it's smart to use a fastpass. Do you guys use any of the smartphone apps that tell you the wait times at each ride? I've downloaded a couple and it seems like they would be really helpful in cutting down the wait times!

DH used one this time. I never thought much of it, and I'm sorry, I don't know which one... but, they were actually quite helpful. Since the parks wound up being way busier than we thought, it helped us get most of the rides we wanted in. We didn't map everything out, but, for example: We were in tomorrowland, and trying to figure out whether to stay there or not... We knew we wanted to get DS2 on Winnie the Pooh before he fell asleep in the stroller. We checked wait times in Fantasyland and found they were really long. So, rather than grab a fastpass for Space Mtn, which we knew we could do later when he was sleeping, we went over to Fantasyland and got the Pooh fast pass instead.

Have fun!

Can't believe it's only 3 days until Disney!

DH and I will be at POP from 3/18-3/21 and making a surprise move to GF on 3/21-3/22 for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary/5th Together Anniversary.

Window decor for Pop is almost done... surprises for GF still in the works.

Looks like some beautiful weather for the upcoming weekend!

Just got into POR last night around 9:30pm! Can't wait to see the resort in daylight, it was lovely last night! Looks like good weather so far (knock on wood), so we're looking forward to jumping right in! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Doing the Single Digit :dance3: TODAY!!!

9 days until we leave for GA....12 days until we get to WDW :dance3::woohoo::banana::dance3::woohoo::banana:

Heading out tomorrow for our furst trip to WDW. I am so excited I can't stand it. I'm trying to get last minute stuff together with work, but it's hard to concentrate.

:)we just got back,,,and you are so right,,,we planned on going "before" the crowds and spring break,,,but Even Disney was surprised with the amount of early "breakers"..They didn't seem ready,,,and so many CM's were "Earning their Ears" that not many of them had answers to ANY Questions!!!
Example,,,I asked a CM standing in an intersection of Animal Kingdom..
"How do we find the Exit?"...He got out a map....and proceeded to try to
find out where we were standing first!!! OH Boy!!!
The Cheerleaders were everywhere,,,and Everyone who lives in South America were visiting!!! 2 Hour wait for Everything at MK on Sunday,,,in fact you could have lifted your feet and been pulled along in the tide, it was that crowded!!! Just a hint,,,Fast Passes were GONE for the day at each park by 11AM ...so send out an early scout if you have too!!!!
Good Luck,,,OH,,and it was 80 degrees and sunny every day:cool2:
