At the risk of getting slammed and banned I will say that DH and are off again for yet another try at the perfect adult vacation to DisneyWorld. Still wishing I could book into an adult only hotel or wing, still going to bring my earplugs so the little darlings don't wake me up at 6AM raring to go see "Meehee Mouse", etc. We will be at Wilderness Lodge for the 3rd year in a row, have asked again for a room facing the quiet pool on the main floor, and after last year asked to please not have a connecting door! lol

I have had 2 days off since last Christmas and I am so soo soooooo hoping to come back and tell you all it was perfect!

Now please, lets not start the flaming and slamming that got what was for the most part an excellent discussion thread shut down in July. Its okay to disagree, even passionately disagree, but be polite...okay?

We found Kidani to be a super quiet resort. We stayed 5 nights at POP and though we werent facing the pool we heard kids running by and screaming late at night and early in the AM and woke our 2 year old up. Then we moved to Kidani in a 1 bedroom savanna view for 4 nights, when in our villla we never heard another person. Never stayed at the Wilderness Lodge so cant comment. I mean we do like quiet and all, but would never go to WDW expecting it to be silent. And me and DH went together 3 times before we had our son but I just know what to expect.

Simple solution. Avoid all values. Go to a more business friendly resort. (CSR or CR).

no flames here, I so know what you mean. We can dream about the Kid free zone hotel can't we:confused3. I love my children and I have the most amazing time doing disney w/o them then when we bring them along. Have fun:yay:

No flames here.. but I am strangely compelled to tell you how wonderful my kids are:rotfl: Seriously, they are really nice, well behaved considerate people. I wouldn't want my vacation ruined by someone elses screaming or rude kids, so I don't let mine do it to someone else. Simple as that.:)

No flames from me either. After my wife and I had a connecting door on our last stay (our belated Honeymoon) and were subjected to just about CONSTANT screaming and crying from the small toddlers in the room adjoining us, I will be asking for a non-connecting room!

I guess we've been really lucky. Other than once or twice a passing teen at night (less, actually at Disney than most places), in the more than 12 times we've done Disney in the past 7 years I've not had any trouble with kids keeping us awake at all. Of course, we've stayed all values except CBR so maybe the sound is better or maybe it's because we request not facing the pool.

The time we accidentally ended up in the middle of Pop Warner was a totally different story simply because of the cheering until almost midnight outside our door and then again after 6 a.m.

We've been super lucky otherwise and I do insist that my own children do not disturb others.

I hope you get as lucky on this trip as I have in the past (not counting the Pop Warner one).

The worst hotel noise I've had was the $225 a night water park hotel in Minnesota this summer where they were doing MAJOR road construction starting at 5:30 a.m. Nothin' like waking up to a jack hammer at 5:30 every morning.

I know how you feel! I'm staying at a Value because that's all I can afford so I'm probably going to be hearing kids running around screaming their heads off. The first two days I'm there I will be hearing cheerleaders since the day I get there is part of the cheerleading competition.

Kids annoy me easily, which is why I wouldn't be a good parent. D': I plan on only being in my room for sleeping so I'm hoping I won't get screaming kids waking me up in the middle of the night. -crosses fingers-

I am all for adult trips! Enjoy! I took my mom and we stayed at POR - it was very spread out and very quiet - hardly heard a soul the whole week. We were in the mansions section. The food court was pretty active-lots of kids.

I would look into CSR for an adult trip this time around. The moderates are very spread out and I think that lends itself to a quieter atmosphere.:goodvibes

ITA with you about the connecting door thing. I think there's a rule that children must knock on those doors every.single.day. :confused3

I hope you have the vacation you are looking for! :wizard:

I hate connecting doors they aren't soundproof at all. I don't go anywhere without my custom made earplugs.
Loud kids bother me much less thanloud adults. They are kids, they are in WDW of course they are excited it's to be expected whereas loud adults are just inconsiderate.
They worst thing related to connecting doors that has ever happened to me was a Aeroflot crew celebrating their layover in the next room starting at midnight. I definitely would have prefered a bunch of excited kids over those drunk adult men singing Russian folk songs.

We've stayed three times at Port Orleans, once at Riverside and twice at FQ and it was very quiet. :thumbsup2 The only thing we heard at Riverside were toilets flushing! lol! :lmao: Even when we stayed at a value, we didn't experience loud kids running around. Here's hoping you get the best vacation ever...sounds like you really deserve it! pixiedust: Enjoy! :dance3:

I wish you a quiet and enjoyable trip! DH and I are also hoping for a quiet and enjoyable trip this weekend when we head to the world for the F&W festival. Although considering we have 5 children between us our child tolerance is much higher than most peoples.

Here's what I don't understand - if kids annoy you so easily why in the world would you put Disney World - probably the vacation site with the most children ever, during a cheerleading competition, at a value resort, for your vacation? Aren't you just setting yourself up for disappointment?

if it were me, and kids annoyed me...(funny, I have 5, and the teenagers kind of annoy me now..:rotfl2:)...I digress....I would wait and travel to WDW when I could afford a MOD....a nice sprawling one , like perhaps CSR...which many say is more adult like, and travel there when kids are usually in school....and the convention list looks liks there are no groups there with kids!

I have no advice for the parks though.......;)

I hope you have a nice time. I've had more problems w/ noisey ADULTS rather than kids.

That has been our experience as well. I don't know if it is because we get why kids can be so loud and excited or what?

OP, We stayed at the VWL this August and I must say that was the most quiet resort I have been in. With the deals out htere, the cost of a studio is comparible to a regular resort room. FWIW.

hope you enjoy your trip.....being a mom, I always make sure my DD is quiet in the hotel room/hallways....have had way more issues with the noisy adults too! have stayed at Pop century our last 2 trips and never had any noise issues....I do always travel with earplugs though!

OP, no flames here. :)

Hope you get your peace and quiet. In fact, I'm hoping to get some the next time I go too...with my 2 children in tow. They're a well-behaved pair, though....because they know if they aren't, they'll suffer mom's wrath. :lmao:
