Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

I posted the following on another thread:

Just returned from 10 days at the BWI Garden Suites. Our stay was from 09-10-2010 through 09-19-2010. We requested one of the three balcony suites when we made our reservations. However, when we arrived we were taken to a cottage suite with the gate and garden entrance; but stated that we had hoped for a balcony suite. The club level specially appointed bellman immediately got on the phone and hooked us up. We were taken to balcony suite 1207. For us, this was everything we had hoped for. This bellman treated us very special; and we appreciated him so much.

It was a really beautiful room with a separate upstairs bedroom, having king-size bed and full-size armoire; bath area, having an enormous walk-in marble shower plus garden whirl tub; full-size closet; and balcony. The two-sink vanity had drawers and cabinets instead of the shelving set-up in other rooms. I liked this because I thought it was roomier and I could keep all my cosmetics, etc. completely out of site. The balcony was deep and roomy.

The downstairs has quite a large bathroom in this suite, featuring toilet and full wall sink/vanity instead of a pedestal sink I had seen in pictures. In addition, there was another full-size closet next to the bathroom. I kept thinking if our two girls, ages 16 and 8, had been with us, there would have been ample room for us all, with them sleeping on the queen size pullout sofa downstairs.

Gwen:

We thank you for your information.
All the best. :thumbsup2

I saw some posts earlier where folks were having some disappointing experiences with the IPO. And I just wanted to share that I have been having a great experience with the Poly IPO - they have responded to my emails within hours and have been able to make multiple changes to my reservations. (I made some ressies myself early in our planning and now have changed my mind).

I hope you have an absolutely wonderful trip, and a fantastic stay at BWI. I hope it is as special for your family as it is for ours.

I hope you have a great time. :thumbsup2

Thank you both!

I've been fighting a cold this week, but I am starting to feel better, thankfully (and I'm rarely sick). My wife and I honeymooned at BWI, but this will be our daughter's first time there, and I know she'll love the walk to Epcot. A good friend and his family recently moved too the Tampa area; they will be joining us Sunday and Monday. I'm sure everything will go terrific.

I'll report back after the trip.

Finally, we leave in 7 hours for our first ever CL stay at BWI. Here's hoping for a great trip. :)

Have a great time! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back as we will be staying CL at the BWI in Feb.

Ooh! When? Us too! Feb 9 - 13, can't wait, already planning EVERYTHING. :cheer2:

Btw, I was sent a link to the Disney IPO survey form, but no matter when or how I open that link (browser, computer, everything changed), I can't make it past the first page of the form online. I did download it to print out, but is anyone else having this problem?

We will be there the 7th -13th. We arrive the 5th, but will do 2 nights at the Swan on Starwood points. So, we wil be there the same time! :goodvibes Did you make any room requests? I had posted on the BWI board asking about bedding configurations to know if I needed to specify a particular arrangement, but no takers...:confused3

I think most standard CL rooms at BWI have 2 queen beds and daybed. I don't know if king bed rooms have a daybed-they would have to have a daybed for them to put your family of 3 in the room. You could ask IPO-I'm sure they tell you.

Be sure to request a room away from the ESPN club-it is a long walk down the hall and you don't want a view of the satelite dishes.

Standard CL rooms could be either BW view or GV but most are GV. You can see Illuminations-well the higher parts-from the GV rooms not BW view rooms.

I'm sure you'll love BWI CL!

We are currently staying in one the the BWI Garden Suites. Simply superb in every way! Spacious, comfy, clean, elegant, great location, quiet, etc. Oh, yeah: The Innkeepers Club! :goodvibes

All the best. :thumbsup2

Can someone point me in the right direction. I thought I read somewhere on a board that the clown pool was closed for refurb sometime between Jan or Feb of next year. Does anybody have further info on this?

I totally forgot when it is scheduled, but the clown pool itself will be open, just the slide will be closed. What I read said that BWI people will be able to use Stormalong Bay during the refurb.

Thanks so much! Just the info I was wanting :thumbsup2

I had a king bed standard CL room at the BWI in May (boardwalk view) and it also had a daybed - the bed was soooo comfy :goodvibes

13 days till our first BWI stay!! IPO has been terrific thus far! Here's hoping we get our request for a room on the 4th floor :wizard: We are booked in a deluxe CL room.
