2012 rates will be released very shortly!

Ok, we sail this October 30th on our 5th cruise. I am hoping as another disboard member asked, that we can book as a CC Gold member while onboard. If the Fantasy booking does open up next week, would it not be for CC members first?

How long does the CC GOLD member registration last? Is it long enough to be during our Oct. 30th cruise?

If you are sailing on your 5th cruise on the 30th you will not be a CC Gold member untill you disembark after the cruise!:sad2: Sorry

However if cruises start booking on the 19th, bookings should be open to everyone before your 5th cruise or while you are on the 5th cruise!:thumbsup2

For some reason when I read that I could picture Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka watching Augustus Gloop getting stuck in the pipe that transports the chocolate and waiting for the presure to build up behind him and then Augustus goes swooosh.

Sorry, just having a moment.

Strangely, that is exactly how I feel. LOL.

I think I have been in denial that Disney could actually torture me until October 18th before releasing the 2012 itineraries! I was really holding out hope that it would be sooner. Alas, it's the 12th and no news today. I guess I'm waiting until the 18th, whether I like it or not. Hey, Disney, can you at least tell us when we will be able to start booking for 2012? Inquiring minds want to know! LOL!

Friends of ours have a 'dummy' cruise they booked using the Friends and Family Voucher we brought back from our June cruise. We are trying to coordinate a 2012 cruise together. My friend knows I frequent the Dis and continues to ask "What's the scoop? When are they realeasing the 2012 itineraries?" We both need to get on the phone with DCL and change our dates for the same cruise, preferably on the first day. It all the depends on work schedules and desired itineraries, etc. I check DCL's website and here almost every day. Between DCL and waiting on answers from the Disney Moms Panel Disney has become a full time job.

What is a Friends and Family voucher?

What is a Friends and Family voucher?

^^^ When you cruise with DCL an re-book onboard, you can bring one Friends & Family Voucher back with you. It allows the recipient, who is not on the cruise, to book the same cruise with the same offer extended to DCL costumers who re-book onboard. For example, for us it was 10% off the total cost of the cruise. My friend was able to receive the same discount using my reservation number. Hope that helps!

Do you have to ask for this voucher? I booked two cruises in the thinking of doing a back to back but wondered if I could let my friend have the cruise if I decided to do a 7 day. Do you HAVE to have this voucher?

I never knew you could do that!!! We have only rebooked once. Do they get an OBC also, or just the 10% off?

Thanks for the info!

Yes, if you wish to extend the 10% discount offer to a friend or family member, you have to ask for the Friends and Family Voucher when re-booking onboard. Come to think of it, my friend did receive both, the 10% and the OBC was applied to her reservation as well. So next time you cruise, bring one of those babies back for someone who would like to cruise with you in the future. :thumbsup2

I actually received the friends and family voucher in the mail once I got home from our Med cruise for rebooking our NYE cruise onboard. I didn't ask for it. Not sure why I got it, but we did end up using it.

I got it onboard. It was delivered to the stateroom after I booked a cruise for next year. The only downside is you have to book the same cruise. Do you want to come with her :lmao:

Wow, thats good to know

So how does the friends and family voucher work if you booked a cruise with a "dummy" date? I'm looking to book a 2012 cruise and we have friends who want to come. Is the voucher "tied" to the reservation number OR to the cruise (or both, I suppose)?

I would have to be the reservation number, we received our voucher in our stateroom the last night of our cruise and it says they have to book within 30 days of receiving the voucher and has our reservation number on it.

^^^^ The Friends & Family Voucher can be obtained at the time you book the "dummy" cruise onboard. I don't believe there is an automatic F&F Voucher attached to your reservation, though you may certainly call DCL to confirm. The F&F Voucher can be given to a friend or family member wishing to book the same cruise. He/she can call the number on the voucher and make a reservation for the same "dummy" cruise for which you are already booked. If you both want to switch reservations for a different cruise later on, you may. For instance my friend and I are both waiting for 2012 itineraries to be released to the general public. Once these itineraries are known, we'll pick the cruise to which we'll both be transferring our "dummy" reservations. In our case we actually want to cruise together. The savings obtained from booking onboard and from booking using the voucher will remain intact. Just make sure you transfer you reservation well before the penalty period so as to avoid incurring any fees.

Don't know if others rec'd the Friends & Family voucher when re-booking on the recent WBTA, but we did not. So, not sure if the program is still available or if it was an oversight.

I just called DCL and was told to call back the end of next week or the beginning of the following week to book. I have only sailed once before so I am assuming that those who have earlier booking access will be able to book next week.

We got a Friends and Family voucher, too. Unfortunately, my sister and my mother took six months to decide that they were going to go with us on our next cruise, so the voucher had expired by the time they booked. :sad2:
