"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

So glad I found this thread! I am new here. My name is Ashley and I just had a baby boy ( our first) on July 15! I am a Disney Nut and cant wait to take DS for the first time in a couple years! Hope to get to know you guys better!

Not to be an enabler or anything, but we just got back from WDW with our 1 year old and we had a fantastic time. There's a trip report in my signature.

SO maybe you don't HAVE to wait "a couple of years" :thumbsup2

I took Katie in June, at 13 mos, and she loved everything! She goes crazy when she sees the characters on anything now, and loves to wear her disney themed clothes (points them out to everybody). I'm taking her and dd10 (shhhhhhhh......they don't know!) for 2 nights next month to do MNSSHP, and to get Katie's hair cut at the barbershop. I can't wait!

Since Lucas and Katie are about the same age, this baffles me. Lucas has absolutely no idea who the characters are. Did Katie see them on TV or anything before you went?

The only things he gives a crap about are his ball toys and his balloons. The kid LOVES balloons (and calls them balls!)... I tape them to containers of Mentos Gum to keep them from floating and to add the "rattle" effect and he goes crazy. He's in heaven right now, there were 2 balloons attached to flowers I got in the hospital and they are both his now. :)

I just don't know how he'll respond in December, when we go. :confused3
I hope he likes the characters!

She watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It is on right now so I can clean (needed a break after 2 bathrooms):) She also has a ton of Disney themed books ($1 at Dollar Tree or Target's dollar bins). I got her some Disney coloring books that she colors at, and she loves them. I'm on the Y&R thread, and when she sees Honnydip's bouncing donald in her signature, she goes crazy! There are character cutouts on the wall at daycare, and she points them out to me every morning and every afternoon:goodvibes. Remember, she didn't want the characters close to her until the end of our trip, but she loved seeing them at a distance. I hope next month is better on that.

She is also very into her baby dolls. She wipes their noses (I guess hers gets wiped too much:rotfl:), and cuddles and kisses them. And loves toy cell phones (she has whole conversations on them).

Boys are different. Nicholas only ever wanted a ball or a toy gun. He never played with cars, action figures, or other boy stuff though. He did love his Barney stuff, but at 13 he doesn't want you to mention that! He still loves his balls (playing 7th grade football, basketball, and baseball this year), and his guns (although he doesn't like the toy kind anymore).

Natalie is 14 months and she LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!!!! Her favorite is Minnie (just like her Mom) and Pluto (she loves doggies). She will dance when the opening song comes on and the "hotdog" song is on. We have some of the stuffed animals and she will walk around holding them saying hi Minnie and hi doggie. So cute. We also have some of the books to that she really loves. I don't know what she would do if she saw them in person. My DH and I are going to Disneyland in 10 days :yay: and I am going to get Natalie a Minnie outfit.

Hmmmm... I might have to start letting him watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I don't even typically turn on the TV during the day, but the pediatrician actually suggested I start to help Owen get his days and nights figured out.

Maybe Lucas will take an interest. :) He has a stuffed Mickey, which is all soft, so it's one of the few things I let him have in his crib with him. He prefers this little fat stuffed sheep, though... it's in the laundry after our first blowout yesterday, so he was stuck with Mickey for the nap today. :rotfl:

I've not tried coloring with him, but he is such a go-go-go little guy I doubt he'd go for it. He loves his blocks- that is what we took to the hospital and he played happily with them while I was in the OR. Oh, well. Typical little boy. :)

Four days and no posts?? Hope everyone is just busy, and everything is good!

Elliott just got his second tooth. And man, I forgot how sharp those buggers are!! We are so buys right now, we are closing on our current house on Tuesday, and on our new house next Friday. The appraisal on the current house isn't until this Friday afternoon, and I am totally stressing about it!! Augh! I just want all this to be done and over with!!!

I was going to post the same sort of thing on Monday, then I though ehhhh holiday weekend, probably all busy.....

Anyways ODS started school on Tuesday -- I officially have a second grader. How and when did he turn into such a big kid!?!?!?!? :lmao: I look at pics from our 2007 trip, the first time we stayed at the Poly & he was such a peanut, at not quite 4 years old!

Hi everyone. Things are great over here at camp Natalie. We had fun at our Kindermusik class today. Natalie had on a Minnie top and this cutie little boy had on a Mickey t-shirt.

Not much to report. :teeth:

We also did Kindermusik, but it was just a demo. I prefer storytime, because it's free and more fun (at least the one I do is! ;))

My trip report is almost done. Now I have to start the December pretrip report, in which I worry about crowds a lot. lol

My DSis had her baby!!:goodvibes Rose Ganya born 9/8/10 7lbs 6ozs and 20.25 long. Im so excited I am now an auntie for the 5th time.:woohoo: It was her first baby tho and she is my oldest sister so it was a long time coming.

In other news Annabelle is waking up in the middle of the night now.:confused3 I think she is going thru a growth spurt because if I feed her she goes right back down and back to sleep. Any suggestions... She was sleeping 9:30-9 and now she wakes up at like 12-1 am and then again at 8:30. Oh and she will be 4 months on the 16th.

Sarah is ten months old (in a few days) and loves MM Clubhouse. She always crawl dances to the hotdog song. In fact, her first (and favorite) word was 'hotdog'.

We took her on a long Disney cruise and to Paris Disneyland when she was about seven months old. She loved the characters on the boat, but Paris and DLP were super hot, so we only hit the highlights.

Natalie did that as well around that time. It was just a phase, I think it lasted around 2-3 weeks or so. When she started eating more during the day, she stopped waking up so much. I could just give her a binki and she would fall back asleep.

baby socks are my arch nemisis! :lmao: I can't find any that will stay on Carys's feet! ok, vent over

We are having some work done in our house today and it is noisy! New windows and doors in our family room - yay!

Carys slept until 8am this morning! latest she has ever slept. crazy! not that I'm complaining, but I just have to modify her schedule for the rest of the day.

Had her 6 month checkup on Tuesday and she is 28 inches long which puts her at the 97th percentile for height. I knew she felt super long!

Glad everyone is doing well!!! :goodvibes

Yep socks suck...the only thing that keeps them on are shoes...which is a whole discussion itself!

My two lose (or eat -- lol) the socks & shoes ASAP. They seem to tolerate the very soft shoes, either Robeez (or similar) or some super soft soled sneakers that we picked up at WalMart, a little better. I'm trying to get them to wear sock & shoes when we go out, not really bothering around the house. I figure soon enough it will be cold enough that sock & shoes will be needed when we leave the house, so try & get them used to them.

Elliott is not a huge fan of socks, either. I keep telling DH that I am going to find baby garters for him, like DH has for his dress military uniform!

No socks or shoes here either.. Jazz LOVES shoes, but only wears them long enough to get strapped into her car seat. Then.. POOF! Gone. I cant get either of them to wear them. On another note.. School has started here, and I cant handle how quiet my house is with only the twins here. I have had five kids all summer.. Now its just me and the babies. I hate it! Im ready to pull the three big kids out of school and homeschool them! :lmao: Not really... But I hate having them all gone!
