May 2011 Annual DISmeet. . .May 12th through 16th

Okay folks, here is a new thread for discussing the DIS annual Adult and Singles May DISmeet. Happens the weekend after Mother's Day. . .base dates are posted in the title. . .things that move this discussion forward. . .

1. Accommodation choices. . .what hotel to you prefer to stay in? BWI and Villas was the choice this year and it worked perfectly. Feel free to submit ideas.

2. Dining Choices. . .we usually do a group dinner or two during the trip. Any favorites or ones you think perfect for a group?

3. Any other suggestions. . .we like to do a group "blue bus" picture, though it has been problematic at times. . .just suggest some simple group activity like a pool day.

Its all up to you. . .the plans we make depend on your desires. We can decide stuff to do and meets to have based on your personal desires. Just let us know if you are even interested.

Hi Darcy!!!

I'm the first one to post in the new thread. I hope that is a good sign that I will be able to partake in next year's festivities

First of all - I love the dates! That is my birthday weekend (Friday the 13th ). I would love to celebrate my birthday @ WDW with my DISer peeps

Secondly, the things I loved most about the 2009 DIS trip were the group activities - the group dinner @ Kona, the Monorail Crawl and Drinking Around the World/Kim Possible Adventure @ EPCOT. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and hanging out together.

For 2011, I would like to stay at the same resort where the majority are staying. In 2009 I was the only one who stayed @ POFQ. I felt like I missed out on some things because I was away from the group.

Well, that's my two cents!

Epcot resorts are awesome because we are close to the night time activities and no cabs.
I think most just want to stay somewhat close together to enjoy seeing everyone.

This year was fun but not as much s 09. Why??
Because I think not enough group activities were planned.
I know they can be hard but also so much fun!!

How many times can we ride EE or TOT??
The Dessert Party. We could have the whole place to ourselves.
Like the idea of pool party

Am sure there will be lots of ideas over the months. We cant do everything together,
well maybe some can...

Really want to have as many come that want to be there to enjoy
WDW and each other's company.

I didn't even get to meet him till October and I was the one to convince him to go in the first place. . .lol. Well, me and about a dozen other DISfriends. . .ROFLMAO.

Exactly my dear sweet Louise. . .Next year is all about awesome over the top fun. Please remember people that we love "being together". We plan fun and dinners and bar hopping and pool hanging. EVERYONE here on the DIS who is funloving is welcome. I would say "only single folks" but some are not and we love them just as much as the single folk. We may try to do BWI/BWV again for 2011. Its a deluxe and pricey, I know, but the advantages of the location cannot be beat. If its a financial burden to attend, consider sharing with someone else who feels the pinch. I shared with a complete stranger my first trip and it was AWESOME. Met my best peeps that trip. Just remember that even if you choose to stay elsewhere than where the majority stay, you are still welcome to all events and fun.

Darc I voted POP...because it's cheap and money is what is really driving my decision about whether or not I attend next year

For convenience I would prefer an Epcot hotel, just not gonna happen.

In answer to your question, YES, we do sleep at times. . .AND, Ken and I only hosted the party one night. After that we were in bed fairly early for this group. . .lol.
