A recent thread on when does your school get out for the year got me to thinking.....

For all us Phineas & Ferb fans, where on earth (in the tri-state area of course) has 104 days of summer vacation???

I always thought that was kinda long?:confused3

I used to have three full months when I was little, and that was growing up in Louisville, KY. These days the kids are lucky if they have two months and thanks goodness! Those are two long months!

Thats about 2-weeks longer than we ever have here (MN). When I was in college, that was about right.

our kids (not mine, but the schools, ha ha) here have that many.

the last day of school is Wednesday May 26 and they go back on Sept. 7, so maybe P&F are from Wisconsin...ha ha

Wow, I'm so glad you asked this b/c I have been wondering the same thing since I first heard the theme song. I'm a teacher, and I gotta tell ya... I am now seriously considering moving from Louisiana to Wisconsin!!:thumbsup2
(We only get a measly 10 weeks off.)

But, I guess all of you non-teacher folk think 10 weeks off isn't too shabby, so I guess I'll just shut up and be happy with what I have. :)

Mine get 93 and thats a stretch from most MA schools. They go to a private school and get out 06/11. They dont go back until 09/13. Most MA schools go back late August or the Tuesday after Labor Day.

We have right around 110 day off from college for summer....maybe the song was written with college kids in mind haha :)

I always think the same thing when I hear the theme song!!

Maybe they go to private school and don't have to follow the 180 days rule that we have in NJ.

My kids ask the same thing every time Phineas and Ferb comes on! We have 77 days of summer vacation this year.

Wow! My kids will want to move to Wisconsin! :goodvibes

My boys and I figured out that they have a whopping 79 days of summer vacation here in Arkansas. We get out May 28 and start back on August 16.

They're still trying to figure out where those other 25 days are!

I do have to add that we don't get "spring break" or anything like that, we get Good Friday off and that is all. Sometimes is it is longer as we do have to make up snow days but none this year.

I always sing the song...and wonder where and who has 104 days of summmmmmmer vacation....

My DS's wanted to know where P&F went to school too, because they only get 75 days in the summer. School here ends on June 10th and starts again August 25.

I have always wondered the same thing! I never had that many days as a kid, and my DD has nowhere close. She gets 77 days off.

104 days... that's a lot. Keep in mind, though, that most school districts summer vacation + winter + spring + all those other random breaks, it probably adds up to about 104. So Phineas and Ferb might not get all those other breaks.

It's especially odd since Disney Channel has a 65 episode rule, which is much closer to a normal summer vacation.

Mine only have about 10-11 weeks.

But, my DH went to high school with one of the writers for P&F. They went to the local private school which does have a longer summer vacation!! :rotfl:

Wow. Im jealous of all of you. I am in highschool and only have 66 days of summer. :sad2: Now after saying that, I have six weeks off in various places for spring break, winter break, and things like that. It is a little unfair that the summer is so short, but it is nice to have multiple weeks off durning school :cool1:
