Coronado Springs Resort -- New Unofficial FAQ Thread -- November 2009

I thought I would try asking this question here since KatMark is a wealth of information! :woohoo: KatMark- thank you for posting so much information here. Back in October, we decided to change from POR to CSR mainly due to the information on your posts on this thread. :)

Anyways.... This trip I would like to surprise my husband with a small gift in the room. I know about the Disney Florist website but...

Can I order and pay for something in advance? I would like to order the cooler with snacks and wondered if it could be in our room when we check in? And since I do not know my room number today, will this work out? I am guessing it will, its Disney, they have it all worked out, but wanted to make sure.

I will be sure to post some pics (providing I figure out how) and a review when we return. I requested Casitas 3/4 and we have a standard room. We can't wait!!! :yay:

Unfortunately, even Disney cannot have something in the room prior to your arrival (the only way this can be done is if you stay deluxe with CL service. This is because until you actually register, your room could possibly change, etc.

We've used memoriesbybetsy and I've used Disney Florist. In fact, we ordered the cooler for a friend we met here on the DIS from Austria and had it sent while they were at the CSR. What they will do is, once you have registered and gotten your room, they will deliver it to you. If you are in the room when they knock, they will hand deliver it to you; if you aren't in the room when they knock, they will leave it on the desk (this is what they did for our friends). The only way they won't leave it is if it contains alcohol as an adult has to sign for it. They did have my 25th anniversary gift to my DH in the room when we arrive at the CSR, but this is ONLY because they had upgraded us to a suite and knew they weren't moving us.

I wish I could give you better news about it being in the room prior.

And thank you for the very kind words.

Does anyone know the cost of a one hour massage at CSR's fitness center? I want to surprise DH with one (and I'll get one, too of course :) ) the day we are staying at the resort to relax (and have dinner at California Grill that night). Any help would be great. I know I read not to book the massage until a month or 3 weeks before the trip.

Nevermind! I just found a coupon on the website you linked! YAY!

No, I don't. But I don't think it is good at the Coronado. I think it is only good at the GF and one or two others (Saratoga, maybe?). However, someone mentioned to me on another thread that if you go to the Disney website and click on Coronado there is something at the bottom that you can print off. I've not had a chance to go and look.

Kathy is right. That coupon in the first link can only be used at the Grand Floridian spa or Saratoga Springs spa. We had that same coupon and CSR would not honor it while we were there this past Dec. If you look closely at it, it does say it is for the GF or Saratoga Springs spas.

However, if you go to the WDW site, click on accomodations, then CSR, over to the left you will see a tab that says Amenities & Services. Click on that and then you will see something about the spa and below that is something that says 'Click here to print your complimentary gift to relax'. When you click on that, you can print a coupon for the CSR spa that is for $50.00 toward the cost of any of the following two services: 80 minute Swedish Massage, 80 minute facial, 50 minute Swedish massage, manicure/pedicure combination. I don't know if they'd allow you to book two 50 minute massages for two people and still be able to use the coupon though. To use the $50.00 coupon you have to book two services.

Thanks, Aubriee. :)

One more question about the spa. Will the spa accept a Disney gift card as a form of payment? We might swing for massages if we can pay using the $500 gift card we will be receiving.

Got my Magical Express info yesterday.

I would think so, but I would call (there is a phone number listed for the salon) to doublecheck.

Hi everyone !

We are heading to CS next month for our third stay :cool1: this will be the first time though we are renting a car, does anyone know of the best place/prices to stop on the way from MCO to CSR for some groceries and beer ?

TIA !

Now you'all got me thinking. So I called. Yes you can use the $50 off coupon for two services - using it for two 50-minute swedish massages. That's $65 per massage - to me, that's a great deal. We leave in two weeks. If I can get in, I just might treat my husband (he's running a 15K two days before we leave for vacation). Thanks for the idea.

You shouldn't have a problem getting in. I've called a month ahead of time and then I've changed my mind on the date and time while there on a couple of occasions and never had a problem moving my appointment to another time. What a nice treat for hubby -- and you! :)

Does anyone know when the earliest bus runs? We are doing several early morning park breakfasts and a few at other resorts beginning at 7:30-8:00. Just want to know if we are going to have to take a taxi, or if the resort bus will be able to get it done for us.

Buses will start running at least by 7:00 for people with early ADRs. If any parks open at 8:00, they will probably start before 7:00 to the EMH park. You shouldn't have any trouble getting to the parks for an 8:00 ADR. If you have a 7:30 (like at Chef Mickey's or GF), you can get on the MK bus and take the monorail over, but the bus driver also might be willing to drop you off at the Contemporary or GF if you ask. If your ADR is at Cape May, it is a little harder since the Epcot bus goes to the front of the park and the Beach Club is at the other end (and you can't walk through the park that early). Many people have reported Character Breakfast buses as early as 6:30 - you might ask the concierge when you check in or just take a taxi if you need to get to the Beach Club.

A taxi will always be faster and won't cost that much, but we have always taken the bus and gotten to park ADRs in plenty of time.

Just learned that Ranchos quiet pool will be closed April 5-17 just regular maintenance???

Yes, Mouse Planet reported that yesterday - it's back a page or two in this thread. It seems to just be regular maintenance. Someone else reported that it was supposed to happen in March, but it got pushed back.

Stitch Kingdom is reporting April 5-16, opening on the 17th.

In going through old pictures the other night, I came across this one and thought I would share with all of you. This was from our first stay at the CSR in 2000. Both those little boys are now men (age 24 and almost 22) and going out in the real world soon. Time flies, friends, so enjoy those special moments with your kids whether at Disney or a baseball game or a concert or whatever:

Aww - I love that picture! :lovestruc I get misty-eyed looking at our WDW pictures when DD10 was 2 - I can't imagine her and her sister being all grown up. At least I am pretty sure they will still want to go to WDW when they are grown! :goodvibes

The colorful furniture was the old decor. All the rooms have the dark mahogany furniture and white comforters now.
