We have just returned from our 7 night stay at CSR. I have to say that I was impressed! I have stayed in a value and a villa in the past, but I loved my stay here! The main reason we chose CSR was for the queen beds. I must say they were very comfortable. There was plenty of room for all of our stuff, but I did use the shoe organizer on the "closet" rail to keep the counter cleaned off. The grounds are breathtaking. We did use the pool once, and the kids loved it. The slide was fun for them. We also tried out the playground and the arcade, both of which were great hits! Pepper Market also scored great marks w/ us. We did dinner one night and breakfast on our departure day. The system can be a little confusing, but the food was an excellent use of counter service credits on the dining plan. We didn't try Maya Grill or Cafe Rix, so I can't comment on those. We had excellent service from mousekeeping. The room was made up and clean every day when we came back from the parks. I did leave a daily tip. No towel animals, though. Didn't mention the idea of them to the kids, so they didn't miss anything. The bus service was wonderful. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes for any bus any time of day. All of the staff was friendly and helpful upon check in, check out, and everything in between. I have to say this resort is definitely a winner in our book!!!!!!
Glad to hear you had such a positive experience...if you don't mind me asking, which section did you stay in?

Hi everyone!

We have only been to Disney once and stayed at POFQ
(loved it) but wanted to try someplace new for our next trip. We are really impressed by the CSR pics and wanted to book June 12-20 but the Disney website says it is not available those days.

is there some big convention we don't know about? I remember the last time I visited I was able to find a convention schedule but couldn't find it this time.
I know its going to be more crowded then last time I went (end of January, 2008) because June is more crowded, but I don't think it should be that bad.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I just want to say thank you to those of you who answered my questions about CSR. We were trying to decide between CBR and CSR.

We decided that CBR would be better suited for us.

Cheers! :thumbsup2

We were on the 2nd floor of Casitas 4. I requested this section because it's closest to Bus Stop #2. This is the first stop for all park buses except Downtown Disney. We were first on, first off. We actually had a view of Casitas quiet pool, but I did not pay for water view. Bonus! We were really close to the laundry room as well. This really all worked out well for us.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I found these dates on the first page (post #5):

June 8-11 - CMSA
June 13-16 - Pampered Chef
June 14-18 - Western CPE
June 17 - Community Leadership and System Change
June 17-20 - Annual Family Cafe Conference

I don't think any of these are "big" conventions, but they probably have some rooms blocked that will be released. The Western CPE conference has early bird registration until April 15 (I Googled it), so you might see some rooms released after that date. It's possible that only one of your dates is not available, but that's hard to tell from the Disney website unless you play with the dates a bit. I'd keep checking. Rooms get released all the time.

I just read on Mouseplanet that the Ranchos quiet pool will be closed for refurb from April 5-17, in case anyone is there during that time and this would impact your plans. :goodvibes

Does anyone know the cost of a one hour massage at CSR's fitness center? I want to surprise DH with one (and I'll get one, too of course :) ) the day we are staying at the resort to relax (and have dinner at California Grill that night). Any help would be great. I know I read not to book the massage until a month or 3 weeks before the trip.

Is there a microwave you can use somewhere in El Centro? The meals are so huge that in the past (POFQ) we have taken them to the room fridge and reheated in the micro at Floatworks.

50 minutes is $90; 80 minutes is $140

Yes, there is. In fact, you can request a microwave when you check in. However, they are very limited and are on a first come, first served basis.

Thanks, that was so fast!!! Do you happen to know how much the voucher they give in the Disney Travel Company packages is worth?

No, I don't. But I don't think it is good at the Coronado. I think it is only good at the GF and one or two others (Saratoga, maybe?). However, someone mentioned to me on another thread that if you go to the Disney website and click on Coronado there is something at the bottom that you can print off. I've not had a chance to go and look.

The coupon is $15 off a 50 minute swedish massage, which is the one DH and I would want and is good through December 2010! This makes the price $75 which I feel is a good deal b/c here in the suburbs it is about that much as well. I don't feel as though I am being charged an arm and a leg. :thumbsup2

Where is EL Centro is it located? Pepper Market? Are there microwaves available to rent for the room or are some rooms just equipped with microwaves?

Sorry...it is in the Pepper Market. When you check in, you can request a microwave. If there is one available, they will deliver it to your room for your use. It costs nothing. But like I said, they are very limited.

We just got back from our 1st stay @ a Disney resort. And I loved the CSR. It was layed out in a way that you get to enjoy the resort and not just rush past everything. I was a little worried b/c people said it was spread out and a walk to everything....But I have to say I liked it. I had time to enjoy all the details or the resort while walking to the main building and too the pool. We were in the Cabanas 8A (room 8106) it was a very short walk to everything we needed. No more than 10 min walk ( and that is with a 4 and 5 year old walking with me lol) We never made it over to the quiet pool b/c the kids loved the Dig site so much :)....I have to tell you that i am planning a girls only trip for me and my DD in 10yrs and we plan on staying there. (yeah i know 10 years lololol the reason for 10 yrs is bc she will be 16 then. So I want to do a sweet 16 mom/daughter trip. I plan on doing a spa day and all kinds of fun girlie grown up stuff)....... but we are going back a family in a few yrs lolol Come on did you think i could wait 10 yrs for my next trip lolol. Anyways i just wanted to tell everyone that YOU GUYS WERE RIGHT:worship: We did love it.

Thank you for reporting back and I am so glad you fell in love with the CSR. It always makes my day when another one falls in love with our "home."

What a lovely Sweet 16 plan--I like it. :)
