I first want to say that we have been huge Disney fans for many, many years. We loved everything and anything Disney! Because we were such fans we choose to have our wedding at Disney World with DFTW.

That being said, we would like to explain how our Fairy Tale Wishes wedding became non-magical in a matter of hours.

Our DJ was terrible. The DJ didn’t play the songs that were requested. This DJ was hired by Disney to do our wedding.
The transportation was a disaster, hired by DFTW, got lost going to and from wedding locations.
The catering, again Disney’s end, screwed up the dinner so much that guests food came out cold and was not the meals that we had contracted for.
The list goes on and on and on and on. It is so disappointing to write about it.
On top of that, catering never considered anyone's food allergies, which led to further problems.

We probably wont be celebrating with Disney anytime soon. DFTW has taken away all the magic that we used to believe in.

Gah, I'm sorry you went through that! Are you planning on sending them letters/calling Disney to formally complain? Please let us know if you work out anything with them in the near future. Knowing Disney, they usually don't do the usual "Too bad/so sad" with these issues.

Wow..you need to post some details..Such a sweeping blanket statement obviously doesn't make much sense.

Feel free to message us in private for more info.
We have spoken to Disney numerous times and are still waiting for that "return phonecall" to figure out what went wrong on their end.
As of today, still no return phonecall.

Why would you post that and then tell people to PM you for more info? If you are going to complain about the wedding, you should post more details then that.

Sorry things didn't go as planned.

I'm very sorry things didn't go well. That's horrible. I hope you are compensated or get some kind of resolution to your problems.

However, I think you might be able to take solace in the fact that you can help other people not go through the same things you did. Many brides who post here do not have 100% perfect days and always post advice for future brides. I think giving some specific tips as to what people should avoid so they don't go through what you went through would be greatly helpful.

Requiring everyone to go through PMs defeats the entire purpose of public message board.

well said :thumbsup2

Sorry about your day. Any advice shared would be well appreciated.

It's totally understandable you don't want to be specific since anyone can see the boards, but can you shed a little more light on the details if you feel comfortable? I'm sorry you had such a bad day. :( Hopefully you were able to enjoy it somewhat!

I am puzzled why anyone would seemingly register to only post certain details about their disaster-wedding and then tell folks to send them a PM for *all* the details. I am not making any judgements here, but I do admit to being puzzled. OP, hope things work out.

agnes!

I agree!

so whats your point in posting??? I'm confused. Has anyone pm'd?

not to be defensive but... thats my disney your talking about!

you cant just post some outlandish statement like that with a few brief things and then not expect people question why. Everyone here is spending alot of time and money planning their disney world weddings so just posting something like that can really anger alot of people. Especially if they have had nothing but good feedback and care from the disney weddings staff.

It is horrible if your wedding really was ruined, but like another "ruined" wedding poster just made a big hoopla complaining about hers. Nothing goes perfectly to plan, some people are a bit to dramatic.

Seems to me that all of this should have been addressed during your planning session 4-5 months before the wedding. Did you advise disney of any possible food allergies? I can believe the DJ complaint as many have complained that their DJ went off his own list, but i find it difficult to believe that the transportation did not know where it was going. Which restaurant was it that you had your reception at that had such an issue with serving your meal?

Hmm.....i'm with Toni....TROLL!!

I am so sorry to hear that your wedding didn't go as planned. I'm sure you are very disappointed right now. It sounds as if you have every right to be upset and anyone in your situation would be. If you haven't done so already my advise would be to take a minute and write down everything that didn't go according to plan and make copies of your BEO and any correspondence with your planner and DFTW. I know you think that it would be impossible to forget everything that didn't go well but over time small things will slip from memory. Next, I would advise writing a letter to your planner and copy DFTW. Be as unemotional as possible and don't make threats. Just express your disappointment, list the issues, include copies of receipts, correspondence, and your BEO, and, finally, let them know what you feel fair compensation would be for the mistakes. While things didn't turn out to be a fairy tale on your special day I hope that your honeymoon and marriage did/do! I know it's hard to believe, but over time you may be able to find some humor in the mistakes (How does a bus driver hired by Disney get lost at WDW? And, yes, I've actually heard of this happening to other brides so I know it does happen), and if not then at least you can say your wedding was memorable. Hoping you can resolve this to your satisfaction!:goodvibes

I do not think Disney is some magical, infallible company that is above all criticism. My only point is that you should be specific to help other people in the future. I think your comments about the DJ will be very useful to future brides. You are not the first person to be critical. In fact, a lot of people have complained about the DJ's lately. I would be very hesitant to have a DJ if I were planning.

I don't know what to say about the food. That is just incompetence at the highest level, and I hope there is some resolution.

Did your pictures at least turn out nice?

Sorry to hear you had so many problems:sad2:. I apprecitate you posting a few more details but was wondering if once you get things resolved if you would still do a full TR? I understand you want to remain annonymous for now but think it would be really helpful for future brides such as myself to hear all the details- plus you know we love pics (i'm really hoping those turned out)!:grouphug:
