EHHHH....................... The worst meal I EVER ate was at MK. The place was called El Pirate and Parrot. It was GROSS....... It was probably dog meat..... No kidding.

Uh, I hate to say this, but if you read every post so far it's not a list of every restaurant in WDW. It seems to center on just a few. That many people can't be so wrong. Seriously, I am glad I read this thread. There is a huge difference between inedible food and that which does not suit a particular taste. I think most of these posts are aimed at the inedible.:rolleyes1

I'm going to agree with PP - while certainly not a scientific sampling, and also not black and white results.. there does seem to be a trend forming as to which restaurants are more often cited as "never again". From what I can see, and yes, I know there is SOMEONE who does like it, but the trend seems to say:

San Angel Inn
The ABC Commissary
Sci Fi
Coral Reef
Hollywood & Vine

Whoever said it's just pathetic that they can't improve a Mexican restaurant was so right. It's beans and cheese! Come on!:confused3

The only place I refuse to eat again is the ABC Commisary. It was just so disgusting! I actually went hungry last year during a visit to the Disney Studios rather than eat there. No way would I eat there ever again.

We went to lunch at Hollywood and Vine and wont ever go back. It was the worst buffet I have ever seen.
We also didnt care for 50's prime time, but we will probably give it one more try.

I know everyone's likes are different - but we really had a terrible experience at Hollywood and Vine, and we did not care for 50's Prime Time after our first visit. Food wasn't good and the waitstaff was not into the theme.

Years ago we had a WONDERFUL meal at San Angel Inn - three years ago it was horrific.

First meal at Rose & Crown was terrible to me, but DD and DH enjoyed it, so I tried again last year and it was nice.:thumbsup2

My all time favorite is Chefs de France. I would NEVER eat Italian in Disney, but that's because I make it at home all the time and we have fabulous Italian restaurants in New Jersey.

Had my heart set on Kona Cafe last year, but was underwhelmed.

Spoodles was terrible the one time we ate there.

Capt Jack's lobster tail was waterlogged, but DD and DH had a good meal...

I think it boils down to that we have such wonderful restaurants in the NY/NJ area that we don't go to Disney for the food.

Does anyone think the service/quality of food has gone down due to all the "Disney Dining Plan" and "free dining" offers in the past few years? :confused3

Sci Fi: NEVER AGAIN!
It was just yucky and the hambuger got up and walked off the plate!

Yachstman Steakhouse: We had terrible service, was served cold food.
My daughters food came with a bug in it and we paid way to much for
food that lacked flavor!

Honestly I would just about put San Angel Inn on the list after their menu changed except they still have Sopa Azteca soup which we just fell in love with. I know it sounds crazy to go back for a ts meal just for the soup but it is sooooooo good! I do wish they would revamp the rest of the menu though!

Here's my list:

Tony's (used to be so much better)
San Angel
All of DHS with the single exception of 50's Prime Time (I usually am gone by lunch, so I just grab a cookie or pastry somewhere)
Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast

But other than those, I love my favorites!

We just went to Kona Cafe on our vacation last week. We ate there for 3 breakfasts and one dinner out of 10 days. The only time we experienced fruit flies was when we had the fruit platter. So as beautiful as that platter was, I'll stick to Tonga Toast and Macademia Pancakes!

Our biggest disappointments were Crystal Palace dinner and Tony's.

Pleasant surprise was 5o's Primetime. We did not think that would be for us at all but we enjoyed our waiter (not over the top but a riot) and we just ordered bowls of soup and milkshakes. The Peanut Butter and Jelly milkshake was sooo good that we got in another day for the same lunch!

Rose and Crown was also a pleasant surprise as was the counter service at Yak and Yeti.

I'll take dog meat or for that matter dog food any day of the week over the crap they slap on a tray at ABC Commissary. :lmao:

I'm looking at my proposed ADRs: Sci Fi, Boma, Coral Reef,,,,, aaaah:eek:
HAHA ME TOO!

OMG I LOVE Kona for Breakfast (yet only been there once but it worked for me Love both of those you mentioned too LOL

Absolutely. Giving it away for free has completely cheapened and homogenized the Disney dining experience. The menus are so similar (hey vegetarians! Check the bottom of the menu for our token Veggie Dish!) that none stand out anymore. The service is suffering because all of the restaurants are at total capacity. I am not a snob here. My family and I have taken advantage of the free dining promotion twice. It was awesome the first year, but two years later we were telling each other... "Well.. at least it's free." :sad2: Honestly, there used to be really good restaurants at WDW. I'm not so sure anymore.

Exception: Some of the resort restaurants are still kickin' it: Jiko, Artist Point,
California Grill. Please don't change!

We definitely found Boma to be a stinker...

We have done Boma like 3x now, for breakfast and dinner and each time, the pagers are "broken" and horrible, and I mean horrible service. Some of the worst service we ever experience is always at Boma. I know the place is huge, but having to buss one's own tables each and everytime we dine there, has grown old.

The food is interesting, but we are getting away from buffets for the simple fact that we don't stuff ourselves, hate seeing kids and adults stick their nasty fingers into food that is a community pot, and don't find much value in buffets as there are lots of repetitious dishes.

Amen, I could stay home and go to Olive Garden. No Italian or pizza for this Jersey girl in Florida.

Everytime someone revives this thread, or opens a new one regarding places to eat at WDW, I have to make a point. If you go to WDW once every couple of years, you can't really call a specific restaurant bad in general. It may have been bad when you visited {not talking to any one poster in particular here} but we go to WDW several times a month, and the food and service most definetly varies at the same restaurant from trip to trip. You have to try ALL of the restaurants, because they are not always bad, any more then your local home town eateries are always bad. So, just go out and mangia! ;)

:lmao::rotfl::lmao: I'm with ya, sister! ;)

The only restaurant we have decided not to return to is Pinocchios. The food was subpar for CS food and the selection was poor in our opinions. We will not return there unless there is a significant change in the menu.
While Disney dining tends to be expensive due to location, we have been satisfied with other options.

So far I haven't tried anything we are swearing off just yet. One that really disappointed, though, was Sci-Fi.

The only BAD thing about the food was that I had ordered my burger med-well, but it was burnt to a crisp. Yucky burnt taste. I didn't ask for another because it had already taken a while to get that one, and I was just over the whole place. Too, too dark for me, really, and sitting in the little cramped car really did nothing for me at all.

I know lots of others enjoy the atmosphere here, but it's not up my alley. A burnt burger could easily be overlooked, but I just wasn't comfortable there. Luckily DD didn't care for it particularly, either, so we don't have to return for a while. Maybe someday, though (the desserts and milkshakes were great, and I hear they have great onion rings!). We might be in the mood to try it again in a few years (after we've tried everything else)!
