In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Ok, ok, you can keep it up. But I am going to put up another one that I like so I can balance it out, k? :rotfl2:

Newbs....this is me. Taken last summer. I am happy to say, by the way, that I am now BACK to this size (all vacation and holiday weight is G.O.N.E.) :cool1:

Exactly which album did you steal that from? It is not on my FB. Oh no--I am going to have to change all of my passwords! :rotfl2:

Liz--who you callin' crazy, Mayor?

Stacey--I hear you on the gym thing and feeling like you are on display. Here's a blast from the past....do you guys remember a year ago when I first started running on the TM at the gym? I wore SPANX under my workout clothes!!! I was so stressed about being all jiggly and having bulges that I felt the need to have everything all held in! :rotfl:

Seriously, Stacey, I'll be honest. I am someone who notices weight (because it is such an issue for me). When I go to parent night at school or something like that, I am always looking around the room and checking other women out. BUT, I never do it at the gym. Never. I am just focused on my own workouts, etc. I have my iPod on and am in the zone. My point is that if someone like me who definitely notices weight doesn't notice it at the gym, then I don't think anyone does. And if they do? F*ck 'em. :thumbsup2

I suppose when I think about it that way.... I'll have to start looking. And when i think about it, i live so far from work, so it's not like i'm likely to see anyone that i know... so why do i care.... gotta shake it...

I DO!!! I DO!!! Spill!

Oh and Nance! I have a bunch of bike questions for you. Will e-mail you.

Noooo, don't change your passwords. I'll be good. Golden.

TOTALLY forgot about the spanx:lmao: .

Did I weigh....silly girl. :rotfl2:

No. And it wouldn't matter even if I had since I don't know what my weight was in that pic! I just know that I had that workout outfit on the other day and it looked just like that on! No bulges. No muffin tops. :cool1:

Erika, that is awesome!!!!!!!

Okay, just got the word. Friend's surgery at 7:30am Texas time tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Prayers will be said tonight and good thoughts are definitely on their way.

Paula ~ not getting the car worked on tonight, but I am chatting with him. I'm sorry to hear about your bad day. Hang in there!

Lyz & E ~ loved the pic:lmao:

I have completely lost track of thinking. That's what happens when I start my day with a 3 hour meeting.:rotfl:

Bummer about the no car work tonight, but chatting is good. Thanks for your concern. I am starting to come around. Erika's e-mail about perspective helped kick me in the bummocks. That and a good workout (bench pressing...) helped get me out of my funk. I am already starting to formulate my plan for how to move forward.

Really, I am off to bed now...

Goodnight!

Oh and Nance! I have a bunch of bike questions for you. Will e-mail you.

I live in CT. Here, UConn basketball is HUGE. The men's b-ball coach, Jim Calhoun, is also a cancer survior. He and his wife do tons for cancer research. One of the things they promote is a bike event that is literally in my own back yard. They have 10, 25 & 50 mile options. Well, DH & I wanted to participate this year, so I looked into it.

The minimum fundraising requirement was daunting. $400 per person minimum, plus your entry fee. Now, I *hate* asking people for money. I would totally put the word out there that I wanted to DO this, and *encourage* people to donate, but $400? Each? That's alot, especially in this economy.

Today at work, the owner & I were discussing the b-ball games last night (both the UConn men & women had games at the same time). She and her husband are season tix holders for both. I mention the bike event. And the fundraising requirement. She agrees. That's a lot of $$$ to raise per person.

Then....she offers up 1/2. Not half of MY fundraising requirement, but 1/2 of what DH and I have to raise. $400. She offered up $400 for me to ride the 50 miles.

But it gets better. Then one of our customers comes in. Asks if we had watched the b-ball games last night. Small talk about games, yada, yada, then...."btw - guess what Nancy is going to do".

He gives me $100. :woohoo:

So. Now we only have to raise a minimum of $300 more. MUCH more of a do-able amount, IMO. And. well. Now I *have* to ride the 50 miles. On my son's birthday! I'm so excited.

Um Nancy,

Need info on that bike race. I have one of my own coming up and have no idea what to expect.

Help me Obi Wan Nancy - your my only hope...

Start spilling...

Very cool!!!! When is the race?

What kind of info do you want Paula? I'm not sure how I'm going to "train" for it. Typically we ride 20-25 miles on the road. I'm going to see if the route is published - may "test ride" some of the route. Well - after the snow melts that is!

Today's check in:

And since I am in a picture-posting type of mood and since Lyz asked....

Here are two of Cam's pictures that won the photography contest this year. First and second place, respectively. The third picture didn't place. (You can enter up the 3 photos.) This was her third year entering and her third win. (This is my middle child, who is 7.)

Nancy--awesome! So excited for you! And as a fellow Husky, I would love to donate. Post the info. once you have it.

Dawn--sit down. Relax. Breathe. Inhale.....exhale....Inhale....ok. Good? :goodvibes

You do not have an allergy to gluten. You would KNOW it by now if you did. Granted, these past few weeks you have been doing GREAT and eating SO MUCH better (go ahead and pat yourself on the back....you deserve it!). But gluten and refined flour are in EVERYTHING that you eat. Since you post your food, we know this. ;) And you eat a lot of bread and bread products. All gluten, baby. And refined flour.

If you had an upset stomach the other night, it was just that...an upset stomach. Just something that didn't agree with you. It does not mean that you have a gluten allergy or a sensitivity to flour. You have also been eating a lot of fiber (which is GREAT :cool1: ), but just ask Liz and Lyz...it can create havoc with your tum.

Just because you had some stomach issues, do not rush to the assumption that you have a major illness. Sometimes, we just have reactions to something...and it is nothing more than that.

Now, say a quick prayer of gratitude that you do not have cancer and are not having chemo treatments, that you do not have heart disease and are not having a major bypass surgery this week, that you are not in kidney failure and not on dialysis multiple times a week. Many of us right here on this thread have friends and family dealing with these and other serious issues. They live it day in and day out.

An erratic heart beat doesn't mean heart problems and disease. UTIs and hemenuria does not mean kidney cancer. And and upset stomach one night does not mean a gluten allergy. I find that keeping Liz's mom and Lyz's sister and others in the forefront of my mind helps me keep everything in perspective.

Am I pissed that I can't run and train right now? Sure. Am I in a lot of pain and discomfort right now? Absolutely. But I just think to myself..."No matter how much this sucks, it beats the hell out of chemo." Words to live by, don't you think? :goodvibes

Well said... I couldn't agree more.

Liz ~ prayer list, consider it done

Kelly ~ so glad you are motivated by WW again.

Amy ~ awesome shoes, any idea when you will hear a decision from the interview??

Paula ~ you always make me laugh. Please add me to the Jesse fan club.

Sarah ~ great for you with the subs! I like the 100 cal packs for portion control, but I too find them extra easy to use.

Kat ~ are you still awake?? 7:30 is so early for you!

Ronda ~ Hello!! Welcome aboard! :welcome:

Lyz ~ yes, it was absent-minded hair playing. Still not expecting much though.

LisaZ ~ keep it up!

Agh, interupted by my kiddos, lol.

Be back with more comments.

Thanks! I had my one tonight and it was soooo good!

Hi gang,

I am not staying on long tonight as I have a bunch of things to do, but I wanted to let you all know that I am feeling a bit better about things. It is amazing what a little time in the gym can do. It also helps when your trainer throws something new at you to boost your confidence.

I freaking bench pressed for the first time ever today!!!!! Granted, it was all of about 50 pounds, but I bench pressed it!!! :goodvibes

OK - I am going to attempt to come down off of clound 9 now so that I can get a decent night's sleep. :cloud9:

Sounds like everyone is having a good night. That makes me happy. :thumbsup2

Congrats!

Checking in...

Track food. Check.
Exercise. no check today due to back ache but will be back on tomorrow and get my at least 4 days in.
Drink water. Check.

This stupid schedule is almost done! This time next week I will be getting 8 hours of consecutive sleep. :yay: :woohoo:
