Animal Crossing is AMAZING (you know...)

Gears Of War 2 SE is doing the same to be, but less of the neglected, my Xbox 360 gets LOTS of attention

i love my 360, i like GW2's horde mode, and i play a deecent amount of Call of duty 4, i would play animal crossing for the wii if i had a wii but alas im stuck with the gamecube version, which isnt so bad

My dad is a film maker, and he was hired by Nintendo to make some promotional stuff. We got 2 free copies of the DS game!!!!!

Apparently, getting out of town is important in Animal Crossing. I don't have a "suitcase" and our game is not internet enabled. Is there a way to travel out of town??

and where the heck is the turnip guy?

I JUST got this game and I don't have wifi either :( I guess I'll have to get it ... or is it not that necessary?

I'm confused. If I'm playing this on Wii, would I need internet too?

You don't need internet to play it, it's just if you have internet and a friend with AC too, you can visit each other's towns.

This has been unwrapped, but DW is starting dinner and it would be too rude of me to open it and play it now considering it's her present :lmao:

Got Tomb Raider on the ps3 to play in the meantime i guess :)

:goodvibes

Well, I started playing my copy today, didn't play it much as my TV was giving me a stinking headache, or maybe because I'd played Gears Of War 2 a little bit too much...

Now, I'm just trying to plough through all the game sales to find any bargains online...

Even just watching DW playing makes me smile.
And repeatedly humming the title music :)

:goodvibes

XD.
Congratulations to all those who got it for christmas (MUAHAHAHA you fell into the trap of the most pointless game! - or so my dad keeps telling me).

I spent 2 hours yesterday trying to get a Jingle Wardrobe...darn reindeer.

6.5 hours for me yesterday.... With hubby and kids watching. We had fun. The oldest kept saying "Mommy - are you running? did you catch anything?" I managed to get out of indentured servitude and put over $3000 down on my mortgage from peaches and shells and stuff.

I do have a couple questions for all you buffs. Can you run 2 family members at the same time on the same console, or Do they have to be on separate consoles?

Also, do you guys have keyboards hooked up for the letter writing tasks? I need to suck up to some town members. :rotfl2:

This game is costing me money! I adore it and now I'm considering getting a wireless router so I can get online and visit some strangers :lmao:

I want to play it now but DBF is watching tv ... and I only have one tv :(

Yep, i started my own game today after DW started hers yesterday.
Unlike in the DS version (Wild World) you get your own house in the same town, rather than sharing a house (which made paying off Nook a bit easier).

Spent 3 hours playing this today, fishing and doing Nook's jobs, you just lose track of time!

Maybe we could start putting some "friend codes" in here for when people get online so we can visit each other's towns and get different fruit from each other to plant (they're worth 500 bells a pop when selling them, as opposed to the 100 that "native" ones get you).

I'll pop up my friend code later when i find out what it is, tho being in the UK may make the time difference difficult for me (Astrodrummergirl, I'm relying on you now ;) )

You can have up to 4 characters that you have created in your town. They will each have their own house. You do not need to have a seperate console for each, however, you can only play with 1 character at a time.

I have every fruit, minus coconuts. But i'd be more than willing to give anything away. :yay:

I just got home with my copy. The kids are on the Wii right now so I'm going to have to let them play for awhile since I monopolized the Wii this morning playing my brand new Wii Fit.

Well, that's not true. The whole family set up their profiles and played.

I'm excited to try AC.

Thanks Lily (BTW - that's my baby girl's name) What was the other thing I wanted to ask you guys.... This isn't the question I had in mind, but.... Do you play with both the nunchuk and the remote, as the guidebook says you can, or do you just use remote.

Also, my hubby found a website that lists all possible fish and bugs and their bell costs. Thought that was interesting. Haven't gotten to do much with it yet.

Boy, when I start my new job this is going to stink. I am going to have to learn moderation! I almost wish we had a DS!!!! I can actually play it at work in my spare time - the advantage to having a job where specific tasks that are completed in spurts and once they are done, unless an emergency patient comes along, that's it!

I know - what are those giant snowballs you can't pick up? What do you do with them?
Roll them around in the snow and make them big enough to make a snowman. Remember that the head must be a bit smaller than the body. At first your player will just kick the snowball around but after you start to get a little bit more snow on it, your player will use their hand to push it so you have more control of where it goes. Be careful not to push it into the rivers or lakes.

I use the nunchuk and the remote to play because it is more comfortable for me. I don't have to point the remote at the screen very much.

Did anyone else have trouble getting their part-time job bells from Nook? I finished the part-time gig this morning, and he said I earned my 1400 bells but he didn't give me anything, the cheapskate.

I was wondering if it was because I finished that part around 7 a.m. and his shop doesn't open until 8 (it was closed immediately after I finished...).
