Okay, more help needed. My mind just isn't working on these overalls. Here is the top and I need to figure out wha to put on the leg or legs. I was hoping to just rip open one leg and leave the other undone, but they are size 4T and the legs are SUPER long and that is why I think everything looks weird I have thought of!

th_100_8514.jpg

First...very cute!!! What if you put Ho Ho on one leg and just one Ho on the other?

Opps! I should clarify - the 3pk. socks are $6. The red and white stripe (with fur) are sold by hemself for $5. I need to check out Walmart for some cute ones too.

Okay, I'm such a terrible visualizer...........I love the idea of the leg warmers, would someone show me what you are doing with them? I mean an outfit with them. I am having such a hard time picturing what to do with them and I'm certain I'm going to want them after I see what to pair them with!

Oh I just remebered that I never shared Timmy's birthday pics...I know you were all on the edge of your seat waiting!:lmao:

So here we go...

the birthday boy

His cake...Agent P....this is the ONLY fondant cake I have ever made, so don't laugh!
PB050139.jpg

Just because he is cute...we hid his presents while he was eating cake because he kept peaking in the bags...this was his reaction!:lmao:

PB050143.jpg

Love the cake! You did a great job on Perry!

That is really cool! Did you get the nifty free night deal? I found out the $200 gift card can go towards any Disney Merchandise or Restaurants. I asked if the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and Pirate and Princess Party was included. Yeppers!!!!!

I sure did! And I'm sure I'll have no problem spending that $200! :rotfl2:

Here is the list I am working on...

My Granny...the one that sews and has been pretty ill lately...I am making her a bag and a lap quilt. She gets cold at church and she complained to me about it. This will be my first quilt...little nervous!

My Grandma...she sew too....just not as much and when she does...she LOVES polyester!:scared1: Kills me! But anyway, I am making her a walker bag (on the bookmarks!) and a lap quilt.

My BFF's kids...one a Hannah Montana outfit with the famous guitar! and for her boy a bowling shirt...not sure but maybe transformers?

My aunt and uncle that I NEVER see except at Christmas...the cute little coasters.

Mom...really stumped on her....thinking maybe a quilt but not sure?

My cousin, a bag.

My kids...Jedi robes.

There is more...I can't remeber and my list is downstairs and I am entirely too lazy to go get it now!:lmao: But, as I complete stuff I'll take pictures...with my broke camera! It still takes pics, you just kinda have to hope you are facing in the right direction and hope it is clear! LOL!:sad2:

And yes...LOVE LOVE LOVE my new washer and dryer!!!

That sounds like a lot of work! What pattern are you using for your Jedi robes? My boys would love some, I just haven't managed to get around to them. It seems like a lot of boring brown. :rotfl:

I think maybe a saying on one leg and was thinking a tree on the other, but all suggestions welcome. But I need a saying, I like 5 letters max usually. I have thought of Ho Ho Ho or Mickey, Joy, Noel, but the last two seem girly (these are for a boy). So thoughts! Merry Christmas is TOO long!

And because Mickey looks weird (I need to fix his mouth) but I decided he looks cuter on a t, here is a cute non weird looking picture.

Those look great Jessica! And I was thinking Ho Ho Ho before I finished reading your post. I also think you could just put buttons in the middle of the o's as well. I think it would look fine with only 1 leg done.

Hi Friends,

Seems the little boy shared the joy of his sinus infection with me:eek: I am ok and it will go away soon.

My sewing machine is making big loops on the bottom of the fabric. I have read it is the tension but what do I do? Increase of decrease? When sewing on the thicker fabrics what should I be doing with the tension?

Urg, I hate having to learn all over again.

This happens to me a lot and usually corrects itself if I rethread both the upper and lower.

Oh I just remebered that I never shared Timmy's birthday pics...I know you were all on the edge of your seat waiting!:lmao:

He is a cutie! Love the grumpy face and great job on the cake!

I have been making baby legs out of those 3pks. from Target! They also have a pack with black and white striped. Walmart has knee socks 2 pair for 5 dollars in their little gift section--in a big green cardboard display. They color coordinate and are cute. I thought it would look cute with one pair on the arms and one on the legs. I'll have to get some made up and modeled.

That sounds like a lot of work! What pattern are you using for your Jedi robes? My boys would love some, I just haven't managed to get around to them. It seems like a lot of boring brown. :rotfl:

I have a very ancient sewing book that has a pattern for a hooded robe in it...it looks like a Jedi robe to me so I think that is what I will be using. There are some in the bookmarks, but they are for adults. You can probably get the idea from there and just size down. Yep...boring basic brown! YUCK!

I like them because they are cheaper than tights, can be worn with or without tights, are easier for potty training (and diapers) and don't bulk up in a shoe like socks would. They are warm and add a fun touch to an outfit. I need to take a picture of Jayden modeling some on her arms. In Disneyland I had black and white striped tights for Lily to wear with her Jack outfit but it was too hot, so the leg warmers added the look without making her too hot and uncomfortable.

Jeanne- Did you get the green/white at Walmart? I did not see anything like those at all. They are in the gift section? I am a little confused.

Hmm, so the pressure is mounting about February! I cannot count on DH though. He is so wishy washy when it comes to vacations and doesn't ever give me an answer until a week or so before (if that long). SO, they have availability at POP (our favorite) .

I think I would pull Dallas out of school for 4 days (he has 2 off but I think atleast 1 day he has Lin wouldn't be able to be gone for sure. MEN!

SO, who is going and would be my friend if I took Dallas by myself? I put in the dates 7-14 but I am sure we would stay through the weekend. I preferred the 13-20th, but I think most are going sooner.

I am still waiting on Jeanne to make them so I can order one for Dallas, but looks like I might have new option now!!

Dallas would LOVE a jedi robe!

Why have I been on hold with walmart for 10 minutes (waiting for DH)!

They are from Walmart, with the Christmas socks in the sock dept. (unlike the 2 packs that are not christmasy but are packaged for Christmas gifts.) :confused3 The thing I don't like is they have those dang light up plasticy things on them. The green ones have candy canes I think and the red ones have Christmas trees. WHY is Walmart putting stupid light-up plastic globs on everything? :confused3 Lily likes to twist them around so they are on her knees.

pressure...pressure...pressure...DO IT! :dance3: I will be your friend! We can baby swap together. Or force Luke and Dallas to go on all the rides...

I like to pretend I have dozens of friends flying in from around the country to help me celebrate my big 40, sounds like a bigger celebration, dontcha think? :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Okay, I caved and clicked the button. I have to cancel by friday if we don't go. Lin gave me NO answer (not a no, just didn't answer) and just annoyed me so I just booked. I swear it makes is like $32 a night! My math must be really bad today but I have done it several times!

Oh Tim was the same way about booking our vacation...I finally just booked it and sent him an email telling him to put his vacation on the calander at work before anyone else took that week. He better do it or I'm taking three kids to WDW alone!:scared1:

Add me to the list of disboutiquers looking for prayers and good thoughts.

I had a follow-up appointment today with my reproductive endocrinologist. It looks like the reason we are having fertility troubles is male factor infertility. We are devastated and my husband is just a mess. He feels so guilty and ashamed and embarrassed. The doctor says that IVF is our best chance now but I need to have more testing done next cycle in order for insurance to cover any of the IVF costs. And i not really sure I want to do IVF. It is a lot of stress for me to undergo all the shots and the procedures while taking care of my daughter. We have no local family so Lauren has to go to all the appointments with me (DH can't take all that time off). Please keep us in your prayers - I really want to "complete" my family and am having trouble staying positive.

ETA: We conceived DD naturally all on our own.

Don't give up hope. I work with a woman that was told she'd have children on her own (and you know what I mean). She had to have her daughter invitro. While on the pill, she found out unexpected, that she was pregnant. She and her husband were so happy with the unexpected surprise! A little boy.

Actually, check around for repair costs. If you can find someone locally who does machine repairs you might get it done for as low as $80.00. We have a place near here called "Tension Relief" (cute name, huh?)
Both mine and my mother-in-law's sergers are going there tomorrow:)

So I'd advise that you make a few phone calls. See what you can find out.

There hasn't been anyone around here in sometime. Most of the shops have to send them out. We used to have 1 man that worked for Singer and he worked on machines for us for years. But sadly, he passed on. But your right, it is time to check around again.

Thanks! That nightgown was SUPER easy!!!

Are you the one who made the quilted jackets? How do you do that? Do you use a sweatshirt as a base?

Yes!! Just a sweatshirt, cut down the front. You can take it apart (which I prefer) or just open it up. Don't wash either the shirt or the fabric before you start. Sew patches down anyway you want. Zig zag them down. Then do a quilted stiple stitch all over. Just random stitching. Sew it back together. Wash and dry it. It should shrink up some. The raw edges of your fabric should ravel some making it look like an old quilt.

Mom and I have been working on a new version. I'll have to take a picture and post it. We got the directions from a sewing mag, but they were lousy, so we had to kind of figure it out as we went along.

Oh Tim was the same way about booking our vacation...I finally just booked it and sent him an email telling him to put his vacation on the calander at work before anyone else took that week. He better do it or I'm taking three kids to WDW alone!:scared1:

I will be there with two by myself if my DH does not take off already! He has known about this since August!!!!

OK so those of you have made the coffee cozies, how long do you think it would take to make 20 of them? Do I need the pattern or an I do without? (though a coffee to get the sleeve and the pattern will cost me the same amount...)
I have about a week to make 20 cozies, 4 crayon roll ups, a twirl skirt and 25 christmas cards, and maybe something for a baby that is small and will be cheap to ship. Its a good thing my school is on strike and i have nothing to do all day...
I am a very slow sewer because DS interrupts me a lot but I think all of that can be done in a week.

Ouch:headache: Hope you aren't in a lot of pain. I hate sinus infections.

Happy Birthday! I love the pictures and the cake. Did you use a coloring page to make Agent P? I want to make an Agent P applique on a shirt for my Nephew. I couldn't find a coloring page though.

here are my bandana pants.
novembre2008010.jpg

they took me like 20 minutes to do, they aren't perfect but I made them and my DS wore them proudly in the house this morning since outside we are freezing!
These are adorable!
I'm keeping all those who've asked (and one who said she didn't think they'd help) in my thoughts.

Here's my latest creation I made for a little boy's birthday.

wonder_pets1.jpg
That is adorable. THose appliques are so cute!
Do it! Mike isn't really too hard. He's one of the first things I ever appliqued. Actually, I'm working on another Monsters, Inc set right now, too! Here's the set I did last year:

boo4.jpg

boo3.jpg

I'm trying to make this one different, but I'm stuck - I still have some of the same fabrics that I want to use, so I gotta do some brainstorming. . .
Did you use machine appliques? I love these outfits. DD would love a monster on her shirt.
I just...um...rebooked my trip!   We are now staying on-site! We will be at the POR February 7-16! My sister decided to come along and we were able to put 1 kid in her room so we didn't have to get 2 rooms! Now I just need to get someone to rent this 2 bedroom condo (sleeps 8) from me...it's going cheap! :rolleyes1
   Hurray! I will dance with you because our January trip is paid for. So now I need to get sewing. . .
'
Don't you love staying on site!!:cloud9:

I get their emails but I probably missed this......what is it?
It's a challenge to make gifts under $50. It doesn't have to be the whole list just some of it. They picked 50 people to participate and those 50 people are competing for $100.

I have purchased two pairs of striped knee socks to make Jen some leg warmers. She is very excited about this.

I :love::love: the agent P cake. That cake is just too darn cute and it looks professional. So great job!!

I love the Rescue Pets outfit. It turned out so cute.
