DDA Chapter 11

Good luck with your call, Elin! :wizard:

I'm back off for the day. I've done NOTHING yet this morning, of any value!

Have a great day, DDA!

we are at citricos at 7:25...then going to spectro

Well, we will go out on the balcony and wave at you!

I have considered trying to do the 11:00 Spectro on our way back from dinner.

Jennifer...the school works with a music company who has a rental program.....when they first decide to play they have a 3 month rental special ...it covers the 1st 3 months of the rental the music & a stand (I think it was around $100...I think it's a good plan and gives them the opportunity to see if they like it and want to stick with it.

We did buy a flute for Jackie since she has been at it for years...I was ASTOUNDED at how expensive a good musical instrument is. I think I spent more than I did on Jonathan's car!

There's not much financial need in this district...so they have no programs set up for that...it is unfortunate...but if money is an issue you'd be SOL.

Leighanna just picked up a recorder at Wally World last week. She loves all instruments. She has already learned to play Mary had a little lamb all by herself!

She wants a guitar and a drum set for Christmas.

I *might* see if Santa can get her a guitar, but the drums, I don't think so!:goodvibes

Smart man!

But, maybe a drum pad? They are MUCH quieter!

Ahh, rentals! That makes sense! A few hundred dollars is fine.... I knew they couldn't require you to spend THOUSANDS of dollars on instruments, when your kid might not be interested for one second! They really are all quite expensive to purchase!

:yay: I was able to book the Wanyama Safari for our arrival day so I don't even need to add on a night. There is my Christmas present to Bob taken care of. Let's hope the two of us can stand eating at Jiko twice that week; we are taking the girls there for Christmas Dinner.

for the safari it is served family style with no choices...so maybe it would be things you wouldn't normally order....I LOVED this safari...

This is what a recorder looks like, Heidi! It is the perfect beginning instrument for a child.
Coming from you, this reassures me. When I first heard about it I was like, recorder?!?! :scared: Why on earth would they teach recorder? It's not even an instrument in today's age!

If anyone has any residual frivolous PD floating around in the next 15 minutes, send it winging my way, please. I am going to call AKL IPO and see about adding the Wanyama Safari to our December trip as a surprise for Bob. Of course, that means we would have to add on a day to our trip. The sacrifices....
I hope as I continue reading that you were able to get this.:wizard:

 :cool1: :woohoo: for the safari. :guilty: for no extra day. ;)

I have been glued to the tv for the past hour. MSNBC (I think) has been replaying the tape of 9-11. It is heart-wrenching to watch, but I think it needs to be seen to keep those feelings fresh. After time, we all get complacent.

I am on my soapbox here... it isn't that they don't know what it means. It is that they assume you don't mean THEM! Either that or they can't read... :confused3

just like the skateboarders we get here at work....I tell them "I know you boys (almost always boys) can read that sign right behind you so please leave" I think most of them have not heard the word no before.

Most children and their parents don't remember music teachers... :sad1:

However, tonight at rehearsal, the director of the BLS program at UMW came up to me to ask if I had been his music teacher in elementary school. That is second young man this month who remembered me from 30 or more years ago! I have to say, that made my decade! :goodvibes

I am sorry to admit I can't remember my music teachers (I will also say that I don't remember most of my "regular" teachers either) but they remember me:rotfl: . My choir teacher from Junior High came up to me about a year ago and asked if I had been in her class. I never thought I was that memorable.

Cassidy won't ever forget her music teachers...they are the ones who have inspired her. Abi won't either...because she's had the same teachers.:rotfl2:

Good luck!! :wizard:

What do you think our chances of connecting a CL room only reservation to an existing CL Dining Package reservation would be? If we are lucky enough to get the Safari then we certainly wouldn't need the additional meal credits! And I would hate to have to move rooms after one night if not absolutely necessary.

I don't understand the question. Oh, wait. You want to add a night without the plan to the other nights WITH the plan? Hmm. I don't know. I know on a DVC ressie that is a NIGHTMARE.

Smart man!

Who told you that? That's the pad DS has and it really isn't all that quiet! :rotfl2: BUT I haven't had the pleasure of hearing the actual snare drum he brought home yesterday. :scared:

YAY! Enjoy the safari!

Today is Patriot Day. Remember to wear your red, white and blue.

I love this one!!

I was so bummed I went to put our flag out and I couldn't reach the bracket (?) and I couldn't find anything to bring out to make me that little bit taller. :sad1:

I know you did and I finally decided it was the right time to do it! I was looking at adding 1 or 2 nights to our reservation just so we would be able to do the Sunrise Safari and I realized that the cost of that was a lot more than the cost of the two of us doing the Wanyama Safari. So... there you go!

Out of curiosity, are alcoholic beverages included in the meal or do we pay for those separately? If they are included, is it just wine or can Bob also get beer?
