Just checked on our documents, again. They're slowly making their way here... Orlando => Louisville => Nashville => Memphis => ??? They're due to arrive (via scenic route) on Friday. I guess they make the most of the "3 Day Select" service. :rotfl2:

Scenic route indeed. Mine shows arrival earlier this evening in San Jose (where I live). And arrival an hour later in Oakland (which is an hour north of hear).

So no early delivery - unless by some magic they get it back to San Jose in time to get loaded on the trucks tomorrow.

Woot is selling an Apple Video capable 30GB Ipod for $129. If I did not already have a 30GB Zune I might have jumped on this. Of course, what do I know? The apple is thinner and more elegant than the Zune - but my Zune was cheaper - or rather it was "free" since I got it as a gift from my dear spouse. Well... I sort of paid for it INDIRECTLY. At any rate.... this unit was sold at Costco for $189 as I vaguely recall... so even though this is a refurb ... its' still a worthy deal. Or so I suspect...

FINALLY!!

My package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 7-28.
Left Orlando Florida on 7-23

I GUESS WE'RE CRUISING AFTERALL!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Well, what a surprise just a few moments ago Fedex arrived with the little package containing our documents here in the UK.

Just wonder, why do we get so excited about it and we all do. Just luggage labels and usual little brown/orange book but it is here.

See lifeboat drill is at 3.p.m and we sail at 4.15 but no information on pick up time from Disney Hotels.

:cheer2: :dance3: :woohoo:

Laurie, are you doing something else?
Hi Lisa, Yeah we're going to walk to the Fort in Acapulco with PDarrah and Cheryl and company instead of the DCL tour. Between the poor reviews and my family's indifference it seemed the most practical thing to do. With the short time in port I don't want to risk doing the cliff divers on my own and not getting back to the ship in time.

Ya, well I was at work on a work computer, so I only had one shot. Cherie says that I can't get one anyway. Unless Tom gets another one and then he would only be one behind.

Yeah I was on the work computer too:rolleyes1 Glad to know the wench is keeping you in line:thumbsup2 ;)
Wait...doesn't everybody only have one shot at the pirate:confused:
What are you doing that gives you an extra shot ?....hmmmm

Evening Crew! Just pokin' my head in the door to say ARGH!

Sorry I haven't been around - been busy getting here, and meetin' with Caropooh, and Disfreaks. Boy, did we have a good time.

I got sick as a dog though. Well, actually, my dog's pretty gosh darn healthy - so I was sicker than a dog. We think something at the "Bite of Seattle" bit back. Landed at the Emergency Room that night, and the local urgent care clinic the next night. Morphine was my friend. Then, after two days of misery - it left as quick at it came. Go figure.:confused3 In any case it was alarming enough that DH postponed his trip home till Thursday, but went home today when it magically disappeared. (My next stop was a hospital in Bellevue if the pain reocurred.)

Looks like planning is well underway for everyone. There's no hope of catching up - so I'll just read the last 10 or so pages.

Poke at me if I've missed anything important.

Disappearing back into The Woods now....

.

Glad you're feeling better:thumbsup2

I know, Paula . . . we were hoping to stay in ours, too, but got our 5 night assignment on Monday for a cabin down the hall a bit from 6050 . . .still, it's a lot better than getting off the ship, right?:goodvibes

I'm trying to convince them to keep me in the same room for both cruises, but they are not willing to upgrade me to the Roy Suite for this cruise :lmao:

BTW, not to scare anyone but Andrew came back from Mazatlan excursin - Tequila, Hauraches and saddles or something like that. Seems he couldn't get off the toilet. DH made the goof of going to Medical Center for Immodium (mom forgot ) and they don't give out immodium w/o being seen. They wanted Andrew to come down - the problem here is that it might be related to a condition he has or the food not sure but when we left for dinner, he was still on there. The other night when the engines went off - he was stranded for over an hour so it may be flaring up again. Either way, he has an appt with the Medical Center tommorrow.

Seems someone let it slip that several guests got sick last week and they are not playing around. Andrew swears he only had one shot and the food he ate was at the restaurant - El Pacifico or something like that. Will keep you all posted when I get more details, right now - the Medical Center relented when we related that he could not get off the toilet so they gave us some pepto-bismal, Immodium and 2 bottles of gaterade. As I said, will let you know what happens. Got some immodium from my tablemates and he's in the bar - so with that folks, gotta go - have some embarrassing moments to do - oh and for those interested, made an appt and had my hair and crown placed by Alex who is aware of the Princess and Tiara party we are having - he says - bring it on! :rotfl: He's ready - he made me really feel like a princess! Post pictures later. Even Andrew said - wow - you look like. Can you imagine?

Ok - Later all! :wave2:

This cruise seems doomed:eek: ;)
Glad you're managing to have some fun though:hug:

See the DIS-ease is spreading :thumbsup2

:headache: Wish i would have waited.... I got them at 2/$5 last week. I like the quality. They are a 50/50 blend though so not much shrinkage. Desiree description of the fabric is pretty accurate.

I need to get more transfer paper though...DD "lifted" my pack and now has a bunch of Jonas Brothers tees...:headache:

:rotfl: :rotfl: gotta love the jonas brothers...

Did anyone see that you could order the MMC shirts on zazzle? Someone posted a few pages ago.

Evening all. See some have gotten the docs. :dance3:

Spoke to Cheryl and they just literally made the 3pm train to Michigan and they will be at the hospital very early. Seems he is allergic to the contrast and he broke out in a rash from the contrast dye so they have to give him some meds to prevent it from happening again. She is without internet and I told her I would keep her updated.

Tomorrow am off to the airport to drop off DS around 7 and then 2 medical appts and then pick up the dgks. Busy day. Nite all

Arlene, good luck with your appts & please give Cheryl our best.

Yes. i was just waiting for Samantha to get home so, I could find out if she had any plans. She is still asleep right now -- we all went to bed around 3am. She got in the shower then -- they had been travelling for 30 something hours.....
Ah, I see. I understand. :)
Let me know soon as you can though- I really hope that I have enough advance notice to let my niece know what day we're going to Six Flags so she can ask that day off from work. I was waiting to hear from you and work the HF day around your schedule before I worked it around hers for Six Flags. :lmao:
I bet you're glad to have your baby home! :)

Nope...still nothing. We are going to be the last to get them once again...but who cares as long as we are on the ship...right? :thumbsup2
Right!

We are officially members of the MMC! I did the shirts  You can tell the transfer didnt peel real well for me..some damage on the side but I figured..close enough!

Then I was adventurous and used the last transfer sheet for my DD on a shirt to have the characters sign. It says: Cruising With My Friends in Dis-Green of course!

100_3382.jpg
Wow those really look great!
i'd love to have the pm of that disney group photo too if you don't mind. I can't make a shirt out of it- I have no idea how you do that! Now watch I'll get adventurous one day and realize how easy it is and kick myself for not making our shirts for this cruise. But I'm afraid I have really run out of time fo extra stuff- we have 2 weeks from next Monday before we leave and a ton (and a half) of things to get done before then!

your shirts look really awesome!

Wow! Hope BIP does not see this.
They look great!
Why don't you want me to see this? I already saw them and I'm glad they came out so great- my order said shipped today (by email) and hope mine come out that great (although obviously mine are not that design...)

Okay, thanks. I'll have to go check them out. I can't stand those real thin, almost see-through, shirts.

What is everyone else wearing with their MMC shirts? Can we wear blue jeans in the dining room?

Kim
I'm wearing black capris.
listen people- if you see me every single day in black or gray or navy capris... just ignore it. Just remind yourself that's all that fits poor ole BiP. LOL

They are now okayed by DCL if you want to.
Really... I didn't know that!
Which brings up a subject I've been meaning to ask about.
Those with teens.... do most of the teens wear jeans the majority of the time or shorts or what? Just curious.
Last time we went my daughter was 12 and was totally fine with wearing shorts everyday. But now she's in this phase that she just doesn't LIKE shorts much at all. (she looks fine in them- she just prefers jeans) I mean even here in the Texas heat and outside playing or riding her bike- etc- she wants to just wear jeans. I keep telling her she wouldn't be so hot- as she complains she is- if she'd wear her shorts! But she says she likes jeans better. I have made comments to her she better get used to shorts because I'm packing her shorts- but now I wonder...... would she be looking all that different from everyone else if I let her wear her jeans every day? She is not eating dinner with us- this is not a question about dinner attire... this is a question of every day/evening wear like around the ship, in the teen shack, etc.
What say you, parents of teens?

Families not getting excited about the cruise.....

I think all of our kids will tell you that DCL is their favorite vacation spot -- WDW is a close second! :thumbsup2
Our kids are beyond excited! LOL! I let 17dd (Samantha) & 10ds (Elvis)look at the excursions for a couple of weeks before we could book them. They got to pick out which excursions were the ones they wanted to do the most.

Most of the ports dh & I split up for the excursions -- I HATE the beach. I like doing tours. :) And I don't think any of us should have to have youngest dd (7dd, Claire) on every excursion! :rotfl:
We usually do a *family* excursion at one of the ports & CC. This time I think we are doing more family excursion then not...... Cabo may be the only Port that we are splitting up this time! LOL! :yay:

Now DH doesn't seem to be as excited as he normally is.... Last summer he was the one reading this thread (not me!) and emailing info he would find out about the cruise, etc.... I'm hoping that once he is away from work he will enjoy himself more. :goodvibes
Ditto that. My kids are driving me nuts asking every day HOW MANY MORE DAYS... I'm getting to the point I'm telling them please stop asking me- you're freaking me out with how little time we have! (and I have so much to get done still!) and besides, we have one less day than the day before, 6hrs less time since the last time you asked...... etc. LOL

DH doesn't really get excited about things beforehand. for anything. When i ask him why he's not excited yet (about anything coming up- not just this crusie) he says he's not going YET so he's not excited YET. I think he was a bit more excited last time because of all the diving he was gonna do... and this time we're doing so many excursions that it's just not working out to a lot of scuba diving. But he IS doing the BOB and the seatrek.... it's under the water! For crying out loud it's still down there. :lmao: Guess it's not the same for him. I hope it does work out that he can scuba dive in Aruba though.. but really he just doesn't get excited about things in advance. Honestly even when it's time he doesn't really SHOW excitement. That's not how he rolls. LOL

OMG! I posted before I skimmed back at all - I can't just get off this thread! :rotfl: Anyway, we were told the computers were down but the decon sounds more like it - the buffets were "served" only on the first day. Thereafter, we could serve ourselves, yet, see my post above, will let you know if any of us get sick. BTW, NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE TELL DH ABOUT CABO WABO! He ate there the other day! OMG! I better watch him. Maybe that's why he fell asleep today - he mentioned he wasn't feeling well. The girls and I ate at teh Giggling Marlin and even though I had a critter in my beans, I was fine. DH only had one carne asada taco. Will keep you all post on this also.
I loved all your posts about your cruise- thanks for keeping in touch with us!
but ewwwwwww critter in you beans? gross!

:rotfl: :rotfl: gotta love the jonas brothers...

Did anyone see that you could order the MMC shirts on zazzle? Someone posted a few pages ago.

We ordered ours from zazzle.. just not crafty enough to do them ourselves. LOL We got the ones with red trim on the sleeves/neck though. :)

Ya, well I was at work on a work computer, so I only had one shot. Cherie says that I can't get one anyway. Unless Tom gets another one and then he would only be one behind.

I can hear her... you boys better share those pirates if you know what's good for you.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Lisa, Yeah we're going to walk to the Fort in Acapulco with PDarrah and Cheryl and company instead of the DCL tour. Between the poor reviews and my family's indifference it seemed the most practical thing to do. With the short time in port I don't want to risk doing the cliff divers on my own and not getting back to the ship in time.

I'm thinking about cancelling too. The cliff divers are the one thing that makes me go "meh". Hearing the WBers reports hasn't helped.

G'mornin' pirate:s

Okay, thanks. I'll have to go check them out. I can't stand those real thin, almost see-through, shirts.

Kim

Jeans? Jeans???
Forget the dining room debate. It is going to be approximately 400 degrees in the tropics in August. I wouldn't be caught dead in jeans. Way too hot!

Lisa mine did not show up in the system until tonight and that was that the billing information had be received. No arrival date yet but I expect Monday.

M are you sure that there isn't a family in Alaska right now thinking that the UPS guy that just delivered them cruise tickets was Ed Mcmahon. OK, that was not funny. They are saving the best for last. :thumbsup2

THAT is why I've checked my address with DCL about 800 times! We have lovely tenants, but I'm not sending them on a cruise!

FINALLY!!

My package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 7-28.

Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 07/28/2008.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:
Roger, Stace and me - they did save the best for last!

Yeah . . . I saw that! :)

We priests sure do confuse people, don't we?! :rotfl2:

Yeah, well wait until they see the Speedo-collar ensamble that I know you've been planning.

Evening all. See some have gotten the docs. :dance3:

Spoke to Cheryl and they just literally made the 3pm train to Michigan and they will be at the hospital very early. Ick!
Was Cabo Wabo participating in the Taste of Seattle???
I'm glad you are feeling better.

I have totally lucked out on my DDs fancy outfits. DD6 seems to fit in all the same outfits DD9 and their cousin wore on the last cruise we went on. Now I'm thinking I should get her a new dress so that she doesn't grow up thinking "oh look, even for the TOAL, I had to wear hand-me-downs" All her pictures she will be wearing what they wore. Do you think she will suffer any long term affects?:guilty:

Heck I'm excited to have new clothes on this trip. I have worn the same shorts and sundresses on vacation for the last 4 years. Living in Alaska, it was just about the only time I wore those clothes, so not worth buying new. But looking back at the photos it is a little sad.

Oh yeah, Joey lied - he lives on the ship. :lmao: He got up last night and did a rip-roaring impression of Jesse's Girl and Sweet Child O'Mine which I let loose at myself. He hasn't performed yet and its getting close to end of cruise so I wonder if he's just vacationing or what.

HA! I KNEW IT!
He didn't perform on the 7 night I was on with him in 2006.

We ordered ours from zazzle.. just not crafty enough to do them ourselves. LOL We got the ones with red trim on the sleeves/neck though. :)

did you get you names on them? I didn't like how they looked with the names, but thought that people were putting names on them :confused3

*finished door magnets (I think hehe) - check
*paid all bills for August- check
*started packing, just STARTED packing - um... not check yet?
*rec'd DL tickets from Michelle (thanks so much!) -check
*paid for pirate bus- check

uh....... tons more to get done! I better get off here and get a few hours shut eye before working on my list again. I need to work harder! I still have so much to do!
like.....
*trip to six flags one day next week
*trip to Hawaiian Falls one day next week
*Sister's baby shower Saturday (and while I'm at it- say a little prayer for her please... she got bit by something, apparently in bed and it's turned into a huge swollen mass on the front of her thigh and the doctor almost kept her in the hospital because of fever/etc. causing the baby's heartrate to be extremely fast. He only let her go home because she has a home doppler and promised to come in if the softball sized swollen mas on her leg got worse, her fever got higher or the baby's heartrate got even faster! They seem to be having problems- they live in the country way way way out in the country- with some kind of bug or spider bites... with the kids and DH and now her but the dr said the reason hers is getting so big/worse than everyone else's reaction is that she's pregnant and immune system is weaker? I hope she doesn't have to go in the hospital, miss her baby shower.... um she has 3 other kids, youngest 3yrs old.... just hope she's okay and doesn't have to go to the hospital!)
*my birthday next thursday but nothing really planned- usually isn't. LOL
*finish packing
*we all need haircuts and I need my hair highlighted again right before the cruise because this is a LONG vacation for us and our hair grows really fast! I have a feeling we're gonna look a mess by the end of this cruise- since our hair grows so fast and doesn't grow EVENLY everywhere yanno? LOL And I just got my hair cut a few weeks ago to a much shorter do- so it's gonna be a mess by the end of the cruise. And you watch- I'll have atleast an inch of dark roots by then too. Stupid hair is sure growing in dark now! I used to have blonde hair but alas, no more. LOL Definitely need sons haircut like the last day possible- that boy's hair grows like mine used to... like a weed. LOL All our hair grows fast but his is unbelievable... even the hairdresser is amazed at the speed at which his hair grows. LOL
*uh... work out the details on the dog's kennel/home he'll be staying at
*parakeet to mom's house/figure out who's feeding my fish every few days
*finish school supplies and school clothes buying since they are already missing a week of school for this trip so they have to go the 2nd of Sept for sure
*Ruby 3 a day practices (band camp) starting Aug 4th, then uniforms/etc. all day Sat Aug 9th
*evening vacation bible school next week
*STILL need to figure out our transportation from airport to Hojo's (on the 11th for us, on the 15th for Jeff)
*still need to call DCL to see if we can switch "people" within our family around on the excursions we have booked.... can't risk cancelling and booking it properly because it might not be available anymore if we just cancel it!
*need to print out docs from online

Oh a ton more stuff- I can't even remember it all.
and it seems the more I get done- the more I think needs to get done or the more things aren't COOPERATING with me. Things like my battery on my vehicle decides NOW is the time to go kaput. But I guess I should be feeling blessed that it didn't happen while our vehicle sat at the airport for weeks during our vacation and leaving us stranded there when we arrived back in the evening! But that cost $$ -stupid battery. We're trying to save money for our cruise, dude!
Then the very next day DH goes to mow the lawn and the gas weed eater/trimmer decides now would be the best time for it to go kaput. And I don't mean in a way that Mr. Fixit (aka Jeff aka DH) can fix- but in so many ways that it's not fixable. (dh would have to explain what all happened to it) Lovely....... decisions decisions- more $$ for a new one cause we gotta have it or let our lawn look like dog doo-doo while we're gone. I guess that might be more noticable to strangers that we're not home if our lawn looks bad huh? ugh more $$ out the door.
THAT'S IT- nothing else is allowed to break. I mean it.

I need to figure out how I"m gonna pack this stuff. I like packing one suitcase for each person- it's just easier. But I get anxiety that one suitcase will get lost and that would be disastrous for whatever person that was. ESPECIALLY if it was me because I'm just tooooooooooooo hard to buy clothes for. Now I have the double "worry" because I don't know- should I put door magnets, FE gifts, etc. in one suitcase? If that was the one lost I would sit down on the ground and cry. Seriously. LOL
so how is everyone packing their stuff? A little of each person's clothes and a little of the magnets and a little of the FE gifts and a little of the toiletries, etc in each suitcase? If so, let me know- but that seems like a lot more work.
Oh I forgot- I also used to always put toiletries and "must have" items in my carryon..... now I have to worry that my "need to have" toiletries and personal items might be in the one checked luggage that gets lost! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
