Wearing makeup to the parks

Oh, yeah! What is THAT about??? I had just been saying I need an anti-aging, anti-zit skin care and then I found Olay has it! So that's the moisturizer that I now use.

I'm much more confused by the women who wear heels... but to each their own. MY feet would be screaming at me, though!

I always wear makeup... even to WDW :)

I always cringe when I see the heels at WDW. Even if I had to go to a dressy place on property, I would wear the lower shoes in a dressy style. It actually hurts to look at the ones with heels in the parks.

I wear makeup every day, even at Disney World, but I only wear the Bare Minerals cover up stuff. Its all minerals, it gives me great coverage to even out my skin tone, and it doesn't melt or sweat off. The best part is it has an spf 15 in it. I also wear some mascara (Loreal Panoramic curl or something like that lol) because my eyelashes are so light that if I don't define them somehow I look like I don't have any :scared1: I also wear Burts Bees chapstick but that doesn't really count as makeup lol. But thats all I wear on vacation. When I'm at home I wear more, but when I'm at WDW I don't like to take the time in the mornings to get all dolled up to ride Its a Small World or Winnie the Pooh :goodvibes: lol

Well, I wear makeup everyday anyway, so why wouldn't I wear it at WDW? Sometimes during the day, I do blot and do touch ups, but it's not much. I look the same wherever I am and it doesn't seem odd to be putting makeup on to go to the parks, it's just another day. (okay, not just another day, it's a magical day) :wizard: It would seem odd to not wear it when I'm going to be seeing or seen by tons of people in the parks. Plus, for pic I want to look the same as I always do, not like a stranger! ::yes::

I use drugstore stuff. I bought a revlon(or something) one like bare minerals once and it made my face look wierd and cakey/ powdery. I threw it away the other day, now wish I had it to try again! Anyway, I use loreal liquid foundation, a concealer, with a bit of powder to set it, then blush and mascara and a bit of pencil liner on the bottom. Always have used water proof mascara. I never want it to melt or run, my eyes tear up sometimes so it would be gone, or what if I cry or it's hot and humid? I've been using
Maybelline Lash Stylist Waterproof Comb Mascara. It has a comb instead of a brush which is great but it needs a light hand not to get too clumpy. DD17 uses it too and uses a loreal waterproof liner cause anything else always melted off really badly and she'd come home from school with black eyes. Now she never does. Oh yeah, I use Olay's Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging UV Moisturizer - Plus SPF 15 and my foundation has spf protection too. The mascara can be hard to get off but I use cloth like face cleaners for face and eyes and they work great. I just hold the wet facial cloth there a few seconds and start rubbing and it's pretty quick.

I don't understand my skin!! My nose gets soooo oily, no where else, just the nose (drives me bonkers) watch out flash photography!:lmao: but i to wear makeup. never foundation, only a little mineral powder to absorb some of the oil. so a lil waterproof mascara, eyeliner, mineral powder and burts bee and i'm off for fun!

I wear makeup every day no matter what, even at the parks. I've never had a problem with it sweating off and if I know I'm going to a water ride park (AK) I just put a top coat of waterproof mascara on. I'm too scary without makeup. :rotfl2:

.

I'm with you...I wear make up every day so of course I'd wear it to Disney I'll get lots of pictures taken!!

I don't wear alot, but I'd feel really naked heading off to a day in the parks with no make up.

I rarely wear makeup on vacation. Some of my photopass pics are pretty scary.:scared1:

I commend anyone who can get makup to stay on all day! I unfortunately am not one of those people so I stick with some eye color and tinted Burt's Bees gloss (love this stuff) while in the parks, but I do admit to taking some pressed powder and lipstick to freshen up before going to dinner.

I'm one of the makeup wearers! I use Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes eyeliner, and I put a coat of Benefit She-Lac over it :thumbsup2. Try getting THAT off at the end of the day :rotfl:.

I have the same problem - that's why I carry the Clean & Clear oil blotting sheets (available at Walmart, etc) that absorb the oil and a compact. They really work well to combat that oily shine that can signal aircraft!

That is so interesting because the same thing happened to me! Every time I was out in the heat long enough to get sweaty, my face would start to itch and burn. Last year, we were at Disney for a week in June, and by the 4th day, my face had broken out in a rash. I finally figured out it was the Bare Escentuals make-up. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who had that problem.

Now I wear Revlon Color-Stay mineral foundation with Cargo Melt-Proof bronzer. I like it a lot, and my make-up really stays put all day. I can't wait to see how it does at Disney in 2 weeks!

Apparently it's a common reaction to the bismuth oxychloride that it contains.

That's interesting. Thank you for telling me that, so now I can look for that ingredient in my new makeup. Evidently, my face doesn't tolerate that stuff well!

Yeah, that's it exactly! I'd feel naked and as if I'd left my room before I was ready! Would not want to be naked! :rotfl2:

My Aunt Barbara (a Southern lady through and through) told me about 15 yrs ago that "there was no excuse for a woman to go out bare-faced".

:)

Gee, the name alone is worth looking into! (She-Lac). So does it work in heat and humidity? Swimming?

I haven't read through the entire thread, but I have some pointers!

Mineral Powder Make- up or a Tinted Moisturizer
Waterproof Mascara
Lip Gloss

These are what I intend to wear. And a cream shadow (which is waterproof).

To be precise I will wear Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation, Mary Kay Eyesicles in Vanilla, MK Waterproof Mascara, and MK Gloss in either Beach Bronze, Melon Sorbet, or Pink Diamonds. I may also wear a bit of bronzer, as we have some great new mineral ones!!

This look provides coverage, subtle color, looks natural, and won't melt off!
I also wear MK Day Solution under my foundation, as it contains SPF 25.

For those of you with Oil issues, try MK Beauty Blotters! They remove oil, but not make-up and you get 75 for $5! They are very easy to fit in your park bag!

BTW, you can keep your face clean, fight acne, fight aging, and moisturize! PM me and ask me how!

Good luck girls!

I started teaching skincare with Mary Kay as a way to occupy my mind when I lost my son. It is a fabulous opportunity and I have made some amazing friends and learned a lot along the way. Thanks Mary Kay!

Apparently it's a common reaction to the bismuth oxychloride that it contains.

I, too, have an allergy to the bismuth oxychloride. I found two product lines that don't use it, both of which I LOVE.

I like their foundations and blushes, but not their eye shadows--they are weak pigments and fade very fast

Everyday Minerals

This is what I prefer now for all my mineral makeup needs. Great stuff, and very very affordable!! Love the packaging, too. ;)

It sure works in heat and humidity. My eye makeup tends to run. Doesn't matter what I do, but after a few hours I have raccoon eyes. When I put the She-Lac over it, I don't have that problem. Even at an outdoor music festival in the summer. I put it on over my eyeshadow too! I have a creasing problem with shadow. It does take a little getting used too though. Some people don't like the way it feels. I was never bothered by it though.
