Matching Family Outfits - Post Pictures!

Does your family dress alike at DW?

  • Yes - it puts us in the Disney spirit!

  • No way! That's not how we roll.

  • We don't -- but I would if my spouse would let me.

  • Kids only -- I have to act my age, you know!

My girls love to dress alike, they do it when ever they can. If one puts something on, the other wonders where her's is.

We do have tie dyed mickey head shirts we all wear at WDW. It is fun (and in my signature.)

It is fun at WDW and surprisingly DH does go along with it. While he isn't a cute macthy outfit type of guy, he just loves all Disney fun and really is like a kid when there.

Here is one of the girls in their Cheer leading Minnie outfits on TTA. I have a few of them in the same clothes in my photo bucket account, but not as many at WDW for some reason.

Wait turns out I had more. This is Epcot.

This one wasn't at WDW. We wore them there a few times. DD insisted on wearing this day at home because it was our wedding anniversary and that is when we wore them for the 1st time.

We just went for our first trip a few weeks ago. DH let me make him one polo for AK. Before the trip, he gave me a hard time about telling him what to wear on what day, so I only made him the 1 shirt!! After the trip he told me he would have worn them every day.

My kids had coordinating sets each day though!!

Sorry so many pictures, but you asked...

We all dressed alike on almost every day of our weeklong trip last week. (Thank you DISigners!) We all LOVED the tie-dye Mickey shirts we made. And the nice thing is, my kids didn't want a single shirt during our whole trip because they had helped me make ours! They liked ours better! (Sorry these are so big, but Photobucket is being obstinate at the moment about re-sizing them.)

I love it! I always dress the boys in matching outfit, but not the whole family. However, we will doing so this year.

How do you make the tie-dye mickey shirts????

I love this thread! My teenagers are too old (or too young?) to do this at this point. Now hats are a different story, we always wear our santa hats at Christmas! My pix aren't as cute as the rest but here they are anyway LOL

I love the tie-dyed mickey shirts, did you make them or buy them?

Everyone looks great!

We do a fair amount of dressing the kids alike or at least in matching color schemes. But dh and I haven't really gotten on board with it, and here's why -

My DSis & BIL went to WDW on their honeymoon many years ago. We call BIL Eeyore, because of his speech & mannerisms. Well, he got the funniest video clip that's a classic in our family. There was this large group all dressed alike in yellow & black striped polo shirts. The camera followed them on their way for a bit, and then BIL intoned in his Eeyore voice, "There goes the Bumble Bee Family...."

So of course when we started planning this trip for the whole extended family, including Sis & bil, we never even thought of doing matching shirts for everyone. Figured there's no way we'd ever get away with it! But we did plan a few for the kids. We got matching Hawaiian shirts/dresses for them all from Disney online, and then DH decided he liked it so well he wanted one. Then we decided to make matching tees for all the kids for a couple other days, and lo and behold, the men wanted them too!

So, long story longer, all 17 of us are going to have matching safari hat Mickey tees for our Grand Gathering Safari at AK this spring!

I wish I could figure out how to get these bigger, but I am obviously technically challenged. My DH is the creative one in the family. He makes shirts for all of us based around a theme for each day. Last trip, we all were various Pooh characters for our Crystal Palace day. We were Lili and Stich characters for our 'Ohana breakfast. We each had a park icon for one of our days. We had Bugs Life characters for an AK day. And, we also had red shirts with Mickey (for DH) and Minnie (for me, DD, and DNi). You can see some of his handiwork below. He's already working on shirts for our upcoming trip. So far, we're thinking of Villians for MNNSHP, Cinderella charcters for 1900 Park Faire, and the MK Mountains for an MK Day.

I tend to "color coordinate" us when we are at disney. I dress the kids alike sometimes. I've never really been one for the "mommy and Me" and "Dad and Lad" looks...

that being said...lately my step daughter is REALLY into dressing like me. It means SO much to her if I'll wear my pink Mickey crocs when she wears hers. If we had a matching outfit, she'd be over the moon!!

SO...I think we'll do some matching outfits on our disney trip this August. We already have matching "Pirate Girl" outfits...JUST in case there is a PPP when we go!

(i've heard insider rumors!):cool1:

I think the matching shirts look great for photos and, more importantly... they really help me keep track of my kids in a crowd!

I love all your pics. I am always bugging dh for us to wear matching outfits but he won't.
He had a bad experience when he was a kid. His family all dressed in the same 80's striped rugby shirts, and apparently another family had the same idea (same shirts too) and he ended up following them around the amusement park

DF and I always match when we go. We make
T-shirts about a month before we go and get really excited. As soon as we have a family, you can bet that we'll all be matching! :)
