You can't rent a microwave at Pop.They had a microwave at the resort food court when we were there in August 2007. And I did see people heat things up in it that they had brought with them to the food court.

Well thats a bit disappointing. Maybe we could start a microwave swap.

wheres the best area in the 50s for a solo, to be near main bldg, away from pool?

When I went solo (3x) my favorite room was a first floor room on the back side of building. I had lake view one time and "forest view" another, but I was in the 70's near Mr. Potato Head. Very quiet. Since you like the 50's I'd recommend lakeview of building #3. There shouldn't be much foot traffic since you are facing the lake side walking path. Or, you may like the back side of Building #1, the lawn/landscaped side. I liked being on the first floor and did not hear much foot traffic at all. On our last trip we were lakeside of #3 on the second floor. That was a good location but I'd prefer the first floor. Hope that helps!

I just turned 50 over a year ago. I got the convertible, a Chrysler Sebring!! Best wishes as you turn 50!

Just got back. Wanted to add that they changed out all the alarm clocks while we were there. Now have a choice of alarms (cathedral bells, and other things) and you can hook an ipod/mp3 player up to it as well.

We stayed 4th floor building #3 (60's building) facing away from the pool, and towards the 60s side. Bowling pin pool very nice, but no shade while in the pool.

Food Court one of the best bang for your buck on the DDP.

:bday:

My prior 2 Pop trips I was in the Tramp building lakeside-top floor and found it very quiet!

When will you be at Pop? I'll be there 11/8 to 11/13.

LOL :rotfl2: Certainly not my first one but the convertible I had always wanted! :car:
Congrats on your new car!

What are you Jan 08 dates? I'll be there celebrating my DS's 7th bday 1/6 to 1/11.

Where is the playground? What building is it close to?

We were there for 11 nights and every night I told my DS4 that we would go to the playground in the daytime (we passed by it every night)....but we never did make it there. LOL! We were just soooo busy.

I thought it was strange that we had a new alarm clock 1 day. We never used it b/c we would get a wake-up call from Mickey or Stitch each morning. I was a little confused & annoyed when the alarm clock went off at 6:00AM on our first morning after being at MNSSHP until 12:00 the night before. I couldn't figure out how to turn it off and was very confused! So, be sure to check those alarm clocks when you check in to make sure they are not set for some crazy hour the next morning!

We just got back after 11 nights at Pop.

Once again we really loved the resort. We had four rooms for our group, all in a row, with 2 connecting. It was rooms 1154, 1155, 1156, and 1157.
We had requested near Parking lot (we drove), and near the main bldg, but not preferred, and we were extremely pleased with the location.
We were on the backside of the Lady bldg. in the 50s.

The new alarm clocks were cool.
They also had a "white noise" type function. Instead of playing the radio you could put on rain or ocean sounds to drown out noise (can't remember the others.)

My only concern with the smoking sections is that there is a very large area just outside the Classic Hall (main bldg.) back doors, on the way to the hippy dippy pool, and it was along our path to the food court and that was aggravating for our allergies. Just a heads up if you have the same type of breathing issues.
I thought the other areas were more thoughtful for non-smokers.

The food court is great, EXCEPT for around 9 am and 9 pm. YIKES!!!!

Bus service was excellent. One day we were at the Contemporary for breakfast and wanted to catch a bus to DTD and had to wait 30 min.
NEVER had that long a wait at Pop.

Buses back from the parks at closing were nuts, but sometimes they had as many as three buses at once which really helped.

Medical frig was in room when we arrived (college dorm size) and the pack and play was delivered soon after we arrived.

Happy to answer any questions.

They don't even get your info until 5 days before your arrival. So no point in doing so until after that. AND, there is some indication that it doesn't help. You decide whether it's worth the effort.

I just requested connecting when I booked, then when I got there I double checked it was connecting and we had no problems.
We have small children, so they make more effort to accomodate the request (they call it guarenteed for families, but it's not really guarenteed. But they try hard.)
