Well you were not really late to the rehearsal since it didn't start til 5:30, so don't worry :) Your dress does look cute, I wish you had another picture. That suite is gorgeous, it must have been so much fun staying there!

I just looked at your wedding photos. They look awesome, but one of the cutest things was that the flower girl's doll had on the same dress that she did! That was adorable.

Heather - they also have a broken egg restaurant in Siesta Key Florida! It is amazing! I am from Indy, originally Ohio and whenever we go down there it is the first place we eat! :goodvibes

I love your dress... it does look very very very cute! That church looks really nice too. Im glad everyone made it to the church and that the guys finally got the walk down-- men, I swear..:sad2: Cant wait for more!

We all made it to Barreca’s restaurant in Metairie. It is a family owned place that has been around since my parents were young. We had a private room in the back, but it didn’t really matter b/c no one else was there. Haha. They still haven’t re-opened since the hurricane, and just open for private parties. Sad, I know a year and a half later. Anyway, we had to pre order our food b/c this place does it up RIGHT! Everything they make is fresh, nothing is frozen, so they had to have all orders beforehand. This was difficult since there were 55 people at the rehearsal dinner! Luckily I got it all done about a week before the wedding so I didn’t have to worry. Table arrangements were no fun either. There was a head table for me, bobby, and our parents, and then two long table parallel to each other. It took me DAYS to get the seating chart right! So everyone was seated and got drinks and were all chatting and seemed to be having a good time. So I decided to take some pictures

some of the crazy groomsmen. you had to take a chip of a certain color depending on which fod you ordered....

It seemed like forever until the Gumbo came. Everyone was so hungry and getting a little antsy! Everyone got gumbo and then either chicken marsala, veil, or stuffed trout. I got the chicken and it was ssooo good! Bobby got trout and said it was yummy. Well…he didn’t say the word yummy…but you get the idea. After everyone ate, we got some kind of banana bread with rum sauce, it was awesome! Everyone loved it.
After everyone was pretty much done, my sister gave a toast, as I had done for her at her rehearsal dinner. It was really sweet and she asked after if anyone had anything they wanted to say……(enter crazy grandmother) ***side note: ok, my grandmother really is crazy…she had a kneecap replacement a couple years ago and got hooked on pain meds and sleeping pills….so she says things….you know. She embarrassed us at my sisters rehearsal dinner, so how fitting…..****
As soon as my sister asked if anyone had anything to say, my grandmother yells, REALLY loud. “well, I’m just gonna say I’m glad it is Bobby and Jeff (christy’s husband) and not Michael and Frank!!” everyone was quiet. My jaw dropped and my sister and I looked at each other. I CAN’T BELIEVE SHE SAID THAT!!!!” everyone started whispering, and my sister was trying to gain her composure to divert the attention…..(Michael is a guy I dated for 3 years at the end of high school and in college, and frank is the guy my sister dated for 4 ad ½ years in college, they both dumped us) AH!!!!! I was appalled! My dad was like “my STUPID mother! What is wrong with her!” it was like when you are watching a movie and someone does something stupid and you are embarrassed for them….well, that was us. So my sister decided to present us with a special gift her and her husband worked on for us, to change the attention back to us…Christy and Jeff had made us a slideshow set to music of each of us growing up, and then us together, it was so cute and everyone was tearing up and crying. I have a good sister. Even though we grew up fighting haha. So anyway, we soon after ended the dinner, and everyone went to their hotels, except the guys and groomsmen. Bobby and his friends LOVE to sit around and smoke cigars, so, that’s what they did for his “bachelor party” just hung out, talked, and smoked cigars….weird boys. I HATE cigars and won’t let bobby come near me unless he has showered, and brushed his teeth like 5 times. YUCK. I am so allergic, too. So I told bobby goodnight and I loved him, and that I would see him at the alter the next day. My parents and I went back to our room, and a couple of my bridesmaids and my sis and her husband came to our room to hang out. After about 30 min. I said “hate to be a party pooper, but I gotta get some sleep, and you are in my bedroom!” (we were I the living room, as I was to sleep on the pull out sofa) they laughed and said goodnight. I called bobby to say goodnight, and feel asleep on my pull out bed, for my last night as a single person.

Coming up…the BIG DAY! My stupidity injures me for my wedding…

Heather you have me rolling:rotfl: Your grandmother said that? Haha... thats a memory you will always have of her, I guarantee it. Sometimes older people can be so cute.

Aww the slideshow is so sweet. You DO have a good sister! I think we all grow up fighting-- but as we age and dont have to spent as much time together, it seems to build a better relationship.

Cigars, YUCK:eek: DH likes to smoke them when hes on the golf course. He doesnt do it much anymore because when im around I wont let him-- i think they stink so bad. Im the same as you-- a shower and lots of toothpaste before you can come back near me!!

Cant wait to hear about the day!

Aw, grandmas! Gotta love 'em :) :)

I absolutely LOVE your dress!!! Where did you find it? It's adorable :goodvibes

Staying tuned to see how you injure yourself. I do stuff like that too (always at the MOST inopportune times) so I have to see what you did so I can be sure to avoid doing it too :rotfl:

Heather I love your dress too! It's too cute :)

Wow, I cannot believe your grandma said that. You poor thing, you must have been so embarrased! Thank goodness your sis saved the day! Ugh, Jeff and his brother always smoke cigars  I hate them as much as you do... I just don't get it!

Can't wait to read more popcorn::

SATURDAY-the big day!!! (1/6/2007)

I slept alright….my dad is very hot natured and ever since I can remember has frozen us to death in hotel rooms! All I had was one measly blanket and a sheet and it was cold! But I got about 7 hours of sleep, which I was surprised about b/c I thought I’d be up all night tossing and turning. Guess I was just so exhausted from the first half of the weekend! So I woke up at about 8:15 or so, and went into the bathroom. Now I was so tired the night before I didn’t wash all of my eye makeup off (which I never really do.) so I went to the mirror and saw I had makeup around and in my eyes, so I proceeded to wash it out. Allof the sudden I had this sensation in my left eye like I had something in it. Crap. Well, that happens all the time, I flush it out, and move on. But this pain/feeling wasn’t stopping. My mom and dad had gone down to breakfast, so I was alone trying to get whatever was in my eye out! After about 15 minutes I got really frustrated. My eye was really red and it hurt badly.
About that time my mom came back to the room and of course freaked out. She had some eye drops and put them in my eye, we put a damp cloth over my face, etc. etc. trying to get it out. I was supposed to meet two of my BM’s for breakfast in a few minutes, so I got dressed and went downstairs anyway, hurting eye and all. Yes it hurt, but it also annoyed the CRAP out of me. Breakfast was awesome, omelet’s however you want, bacon, waffles, etc. SO good! I thought after breakfast it would go away, and it didn’t. One of my BM’s dads is a Doctor, and they had come down form MS for the wedding, so he came to the room and looked at it. He said if there was anything in it I had gotten it out by now. I told him it only hurt to blink/close my eye (which, too bad I HAVE to do!) and he said he thought I had scratched my cornea…..WHAT!?!? I have NEVER in ALL my years done that! And I do t on my WEDDING DAY! I am so STUPID! If I just would have taken my makeup off the night before, this wouldn’t have happened. I was upset, annoyed, and very angry! He said to take some medicine to help with the pain and it would just have to go away on its own. So I tried my best to get on with the day, I was not going to let this ruin my wedding!
My bridesmaids were supposed to begin arriving about 10:45 to start getting ready. My hairdresser, Sandra, who had done my hair for about 12 years was coming to do everyone’s updos (I was paying for them, and told them they could do it however they wanted, as long as it was all up!) The bridesmaids began to trickle in and we just decided to hang out for awhile. Sandra would be here soon to start hair, and my mom had ordered some food from the hotel months ago so we would have something to snack on. I grabbed a glass of wine as people started to arrive. I knew I would need it.

Coming up…..hair drama, good food, and my painful eye saga continues.

**Sorry this installment was so short, but I have to go study for my test tonight!***
:sad2:

oh no Heather:sad2: . I feel so bad for yuo and the entire eye mishap. How could that happen on the most important day of your life? :scared: I hope that calmed down in time for the ceremony. And I noticed you wrote hair drama... that doesnt sound much better:sad2: ... im over here hoping for a happy ending..:flower3:

Oh no Heather! I hope your eye healed before the ceremony! I could not imagine how upsetting that must have been :sad2: I sunburned my eyeballs once (I have really light eyes) and I remember that horrible pain... but oh my having it on your wedding day! You poor thing

as everyone began to arrive, the room service people came with the food we had ordered. Sandwiches, chicken strips, and a fruit tray and wine. Yum yum. We snacked on that food ALL day!

our yummy food

Sandra arrived and set up her hair station in the main bathroom and started doing hair. It took about 30 or so minutes for each person….times 9 people…well, you get the idea. The rest of us sat down to eat. The food was surprisingly very very good!

100_2243.jpg

me and 6 of my BM's eating/waiting. some have their hair done.

Ok so all this time my eye is still bugging me, but not as bad as earlier, I think the meds helped a little. We hung out for a while, as one by one girls got their hair did. Haha. So heres the first hair drama: one of my dear friends doesn’t think sometimes….she knew for MONTHS before the wedding I wanted everyone to have updos….the week before the wedding she chops her hair off above her chin!!! I was so angry, but Sandra said she could work with it, which she did, but it kept falling and she was complaining about it and I was like “if you wouldn’t have cut it so short it wouldn’t be falling!!!” ok next hair drama, another BM has super long/thick hair. Sandra put it all up which took forever, and BM hated it and Sandra had to take it down. Sandra was gtting very annoyed b/c the way BM wante dit up was almost impossible with her hair type. We finally got it to work in a way she was comfortable but it set us back 30 mintues (which would come into play later)
The videographer was supposed to come at 3-3:15 to get me getting ready/hair/makeup, and the photographer at 4 to get shots of me getting into my dress, and then we were taking pics in the lobby of the hotel downstairs at 4:15, b/c he had to leave at 4:45 to get back to the church, get shots of the guys, and then set up for the ceremony. It was now 2:00 and we still had 2 girls hair to do, then mine. I was starting to get antsy, I am a very on time person and we were starting to cut it close. 3:00 rolls around and the videographer show up. He says “just pretend I’m not here!” I said ok, and started running around the suite eating, talking, and helping people gt ready, and the whole time he just follows me with the camera. Haha I felt like a celebrity. How annoying it must be! Hehe. Sandra went ahead and put the rollers in my hair so the curls could be setting. I had already decided way before the wedding to help one of my BM’s with makeup. She never wears any and she said I could give her a makeover. I was so excited. She looked great when I was done with her!

I look like a grandma with my rollers!

Coming up…..more eye pain, MY hair drama, and running late….
