Yo Ho Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for We Halloween *2012* PTR has begun!

I agree with the other ladies.
:flower3:

Miss you Sherri!

I hope you aren't filling sand bags. They are showing up around here as people get worried about the hug snowpack still waiting for warm days.

1 cup of chocolate milk, 1 six year old boy & 1 messed up laptop...so I am lurking on mybphone until the laptop returns from the doctor. I shall return

The river is at 18 feet today 19 is flood stage and is expected to h it that 2morrow or friday
We had 3 days of upper 70s & 80s over the weekend which is what got us this high now it is raining again. Sandbags are probably in our near future.

I'm certatinly glad to see you check in. I hope the river slows down a bit. Mine is getting high too. Ponds are showing up in places that aren't normally wet.

Sherri - I hope all is well with you and the family.

I'm sure you've had many other things to deal with and I don't know how often you are checking in here, but I must admit that you were the first person I thought of when reading the latest Al Lutz column which says that Pirates of the Caribbean will be closed after Labor Day and all the way to Thanksgiving - 2-1/2 months!:scared1: That means no riding POTC in the pirate outfits! I swear, I thought, "Oh no! No POTC during the party! What will Sherri do?" I was so crushed for you guys!

Of course, things are always subject to change and maybe it won't be closed that long, but it looks like HalloweenTime is going to be without POTC one way or the other, even if the time frame for the refurb is shortened. I would imagine that this is something major that needs a big chunk of time, and DLR can't find that time anywhere else in the schedule before the super busy holiday season starts. They might have a deadline to get it done before the year starts, and the only option is to do it between Summer and the holidays - the two super busy times of year.

I am thinking about you and I miss your smiling "voice".

Oh, that is so sad! I guess the "Pirates Riding Pirates" won't be happening. That is such a long refurb. HalloweenTime without POTC just doesn't sound right.

Hope to see you back to your PTR soon Sherri. You promised us some old Disneyland pictures. :)

Hi everybody sorry :sad1: I have been gone so long. The Halloween trip was canceled and all the trips for 2012 are likely not going to happen either (although we are secretly making tentative plans for Halloween maybe:worship:) and I have been just too depressed to even look at the DIS for a while, but I really had not realized it had been quite so long.

So we did have some flooding but not as bad as we thought it would be. Sadly though it was bad enough to cancel out my lovely summer blog job as a lot of the areas they wanted us to cover were damaged and our wildlife was hit pretty hard by both the hard winter and the flooding, but stay tuned as they told me not to give up hope as there are plans to do it this next summer instead so keep your fingers crossed on that one.

My husband was injured and is going to have to have back surgery. In the course of pre op tests they also found cysts on his kidneys so the surgery on his back has been postponed until that is cleared up We have an appointment with a specialist for that issue on February 1st. Shortly after he was hurt I lost my regular job. Times are tough hopefully I have a new job soon, The surgery goes well and We get to travel & blog this summer and get back to DLR sooner rather than later.

So that is where I have been and I am ready to live vicariously through you all for a while... I am not changing the name of this TR at the moment as hopefully October 2012 will work out for us everyone keep your fingers crossed and send your prayers and I promise not to be away from the DIS for this long again...just reading has made me feel a bit better I should have logged in to read a long time ago

Sherri,

I am sorry to hear all that. I hope that all goes well with your husbands surgery. And that everything is better for you.

Thanks Michelle missed you and everyone else here. Went back on today because someone mentioned the 1/2 marathon and I said I know people that do those Disney marathons...then realized that I had drifted away from you all.

Sherri, it's really good to hear from you! I was thinking about bumping your TR a few weeks ago to see if anyone had any info on you. I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip. Wow, you have a lot going on right now. I hope you are able to get another job soon, and that your husband will be able to have his surgery before too long. How is Colton? Now, wasn't your daughter going to get married last October? I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly. It seems like her wedding would have been part of your Oct. trip to DL. Anyway, it's good to see you back. :goodvibes Good luck with everything.

Colton is Colton just a year older since he is now 7, he says he likes being 7 better than he liked being 6. Currently he is very busy with wrestling season and Cub Scouts a very busy guy. About every week or so he still pops out with "remember when we were at Disneyland and we did....whatever it is that day Every time we pull out a Disney movie he remembers something at DL to go with it even if it was merchandise or a food and not something big like a ride. I will try to get a pic up of him soon he is growing up so fast, maybe I'll take the camera to his next wrestling practice LOL

My daughter Kari was supposed to get married October 31st but in September her fiance was offered a very lucrative career move that would allow her to be a stay at home Mom in San Diego...so wedding plans were bumped in favor of a move instead...and who wouldn't rather live in a house a block from the beach in San Diego instead of Phoenix? So wedding was bumped to next Halloween, So hopefully everything will settle here in time for the wedding which is why we are trying to make DL happen for Halloween this year. Just wish we knew how far the surgery will be delayed due to this new development so I could TRY to make some plans for when he is able to get up & around since he will be down for approx 2 months after the surgery.

and it is good to BE back.:cool1:

It's nice to hear from you again Sherri.

Hope your husband have successful back surgery.

Sheri - I've been wondering about you for the last 2 or 3 months. So glad to see that you've checked back in.
Sorry to read about youre news and I hope your DH gets better soon and surgery is a success.

Living vicariously? That's pretty much what I've was doing last year. But I'm going to Hong Kong.....:rolleyes1

I missed you too. How exciting about your daughters wedding! And yes I would choose San Diego over Phoenix any day. Think of how much closer to Disneyland that is!

I am glad to hear that Colton is still Colton!! That little guy has given me more than one smile.
