The age/height requirement I think have more to do with wearing the gear then subject matter

I second this. I don't believe they're concerned with the subject matter. It probably just has more to do with the liability/risk of wearing the equipment.

Great, thanks all! We are well above the height requirements and he has done VR before. I was more concerned that it needed to be the exact age since we will be so close to that.
