I signed a contract 8 days ago and need to decide whether or not to rescind. I wanted to check the resale properties at CCV before committing to DVC but I’m guessing there may be few if any since it’s fairly new. We really love Wilderness Lodge and want to make it our home resort. Where should I go to view resale properties?

Dunno which can be named here or not, but Google the exact question you asked and the resale sites will come up.

From the link posted by DaveNan:

Here are some of the DVC resale brokers often mentioned on the DIS:

The Timeshare Store (a DIS sponsor) - http://www.dvc-resales.com
Fidelity Resales - http://fidelityresales.com/
DVC by Resale - http://www.dvcbyresale.com/
Selling Timeshares - http://www.sellingtimeshares.net
DVC Magic Resales - http://www.DVCmagicresales.com
DVC Resale Market - http://www.dvcresalemarket.com/

Here are few other options for DVC resale purchases:

Timeshare Users Group - http://www.tug2.net (Also a great resource for information about other Timeshare programs)
Timesharing Today - http://www.tstoday.com
Redweek - http://www.redweek.com
Ebay - http://www.ebay.com

I use https://www.***************.com/

It's a search engine that polls the major resellers and lists the contracts for sale at each. You can filter results by resort, UY, price, # of points, etc. And it links to the the resellers' websites.

FWIW, you are not going to find too many CCV contracts up for sale. Those that you do find will probably be stripped of points and will cost very close to the current direct price. CCV only went on sale last year. People who purchased there are not likely to be selling this year without having gotten some sort of benefit from it.

ETA: It appears that website has been banned by the disboards. You'll have to search for it on your own.

I read your other thread as well, @pgp1206, and I would suggest also that you rescind now and take some time to look at resale. The CCV deal will be there later, same terms and everything, after you've had a chance to do your research. So you have nothing to lose by canceling/rescinding now and looking at resales. BRV, the older DVC at Wilderness Lodge, may be a better fit for your lifestyle and your wallet.

Be advised you can also sign up for email updates from us here at The Timeshare Store, Inc.®. We will email you Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 9 am. You can simply email us at sales@dvcstore.com and asked to be added to the list.

Thanks.

If there's any question at all in your mind I'd recommend rescinding. You have this one tiny window to do so until your locked in. You can look at resale and DVC in general and determine if it is a good fit for you and what options andresorts there are. Also give closer consideration to the amount of points your purchasing. If you do decide it was the right choice you can call them back and they'll sign you up right away. You can do it next week if you do decide it's right although you probably need a little more time to check everything out. But if you let this window close and then next week decide it isn't right for you or a different location or number of points would be more appropriate you can't just change. The only option then is to sell which comes at a large cost. Commission to the broker and lower price per point than what was paid.

DVC can be a really expensive mistake if you have concerns. It probably is the most expensive timeshare when you combine the cost to buy in and member fees. Those member fees continue to go up each year. Then you still have to pay for park admission, travel and food which really adds up. We have a few tickets in our MDE that we bought years ago and haven't activated yet. Plus we are now Florida Residents so we can buy those special tickets at the grocery store. And they still cost us. We both have government pensions, plus Social Security. We started saving for our retirement at least 20-25 years ago and have a nice sum in each of our accounts. We bought our DVC points 21 years ago, so there isn't any money owed on them either. We still consider DVC expensive. Only you can decide what to do, but rescission is the best thing to do and then take lots of time to decide on your future. In the mean time, if you really need to go to Disney, rent from another owner.
