If it is your first time, don't rush to the pool. Explore the ship. There are tours of the ship that the activities staff will give and discuss things that you can do. You'll have plenty of time for the pool and slides. Plus, remember that the pool is fairly tiny. It isn't much more than a chance for kids to bob up and down. You do a lot more on the beach.
