Planning our 3rd trip to San Diego in March, will do seaworld the zoo and legoland again. We have done the wild animal park also. Trip is myself and dd then almost 7. Any other attractions we should see? (we have done DL twice and do these areas separately....)

Balboa Park has lots of museums, especially Ruben H. Fleet Science Museum with IMAX theater.

Here's another vote for Balboa Park. Our friend's young daughter loved riding the carousel and miniature train.

Balboa Park is great...on tuesdays some museums are free. The museum of natural history, railroad museum and space center are great for kids. La Jolla has the Stephen Birch aquarium which is nice

Spend a morning scouring the beach of Coronado for sand dollars. If you arrive early enough (8 am) you can grab a starbucks and park for free next to the Hotel Del and wander the 3 plus miles of beachfront. Bring a bucket or a mesh bag to hold your loot.

One caveat: You must sanitize the sand dollars or your hotel room and all your belongings will stink to high heaven within days. Lay the sand dollars outside to dry, preferably where they can see some sun. After a day, drop them into a bowl (or sink) of bleach/water, 1:1. Let them soak for half an hour and use an old toothbrush to get rid of any remaining surface spines. Rinse in plain water and let dry outside. Place them into a ziplock bag and carefully transport home!

Have a great trip!

catch a ball game at PETCO park in the gaslamp...great family atmosphere at the ballpark and the surrounding neighborhood has great restaurants and shops.

we tend to take our out of towners to seaport village and everyone seems to enjoy it . .

if i hear of my kids school heading to the zoo or balboa park during march i'll let ya know if you will be invaded :)

also fyi to all the 5th graders during their one of their lsat weeks of school spend the entire week going to various aresa of balboa park.

i believe it is the fourth graders that go to old town (part of the missions)

lots of shopping deals at Viejas casino (outlets) then finish it up with there free water show for the family. (night fire is the show playing right now)

We love Sea Port Village, & Coronado (so much to do... and the Hotel de Coronado is awesome to visit, even if you're not staying there). There's a ferry you can ride between the two.

Other favorites are Pacific Beach area, just walking along the boardwalk or enjoying one of the many sea side restaurants and the small amusement park at Mission Beach... there is a huge wooden roller coaster and lots of kiddie rides.

This is one of our favorite vacation desinations! Have a great time! :wave2:

i thought that Old town was neat and there are some boat museums (incl a airline carrier) if you like that. we did the trolley tour and while it was a little pricey we did get a chance to see quite a bit.

I agree with all of the other suggestions. I'd also suggest a boat ride around San Diego Harbor. Also, I forget when you will be there, but if it is whale watch season, that might be fun. You can also rent a sailboat on Mission Bay.
