Adding 60 minutes today - it’s just different walking in the city! We literally walked up 5 flights of stairs coming up from the subway Ugh!! Not to mention the three flights as we changed trains.

Happy Friday, everyone, and congrats to MikeNamez, BonnieF, and our TEAM for reaching Bienvenue à Paris Orange!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

It's time to head to the park, but before we go, let's learn a little about the history of Disneyland Paris:

    How It All Began
    • 1987 - Disney signs an agreement with the French authorities to create Euro Disney in France
    • 1992 - Euro Disney welcomes its first visitors
    • 1994 - The resort changes its name from Euro Disney to Disneyland® Resort Paris
    More Magical by the Day
    • 1995 - Space Mountain - From the Earth to the Moon (now Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain) takes its first passengers on a thrilling ride
    • 1996 - Eurostar starts running trains direct to Disneyland Paris
    • 1997 - 5th anniversary celebrations take place at the Park. It's a festival of flowers to celebrate springtime
    A New Park Opens
    • 2001 - The number of guests visiting Disneyland Paris hits the 100 million mark
    • 2002 - Walt Disney Studios® Park opens alongside Disneyland Park, giving visitors a whole new world to explore
    • 2006 - Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast opens, inspired by Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 2
    Let the Celebrations Start!
    • 2007 - Toon Studio opens with larger-than-life rides and the chance to explore the art of Disney animation
    • 2011 - The number of guests who've visited the park hits a record-breaking quarter of a billion
    • 2012 - 20th anniversary celebrations begin, with an amazing nighttime show, and new spectacular parade
    • 2017 - Disneyland Paris celebrate their 25th anniversary celebrations with new attractions, spectacular shows and a star-studded parade

And, I thought this video covered some interesting information:

(I couldn't find Part 2, but Part 1 stands on its own)

Have a great weekend, all! I hope to make up for lost minutes from the past couple of days.

Stairs are an excellent but tiring workout! I bet you'll feel that later. Your theatre adventures sound fun. I've never heard of Come From Away, but I just looked it up and it sounds wonderful. Hopefully it will tour here one day.

We are going to go see On Your Feet Tuesday night. Not sure it would be one I would attend if we didn't have season tickets, but hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised and enjoy it more than we expect.

More city adventures = more city minutes! I’ll add 90 minutes for Saturday, bringing me to 290/500. The wind was so frigid, and it seemed we were always walking directly into it. I really hate winter! But inside the Metropolitan Museum, it was lovely!

BonnieF's many recent adventures have allowed her to be the first to reach dans le parc Violet! Isn't it wonderful how much walking (and climbing - let's not forget those stairs!) you can fit in while having fun? :Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc

And with that, it's time to hit the park!!!

The first half of this video talks about how our hotel guards the entrance to the park and we get a brief glimpse out the window of just how close we are to all of the fun!

And this one walks us through entering the main park entrance. There is supposedly an entrance just for hotel guests that skips security lines, but I can't find a video or an article that shows it:

And now it's time for Backtrack Bonus Video! So, this is backtracking because it shows more about the hotel, but this video is too good not to share. From the hotel tour portion, I learned I chose the most exclusive suite in the hotel. My husband would not be surprised. :rotfl2: We also get to see an in-depth look at breakfast in the California Grill. My daughter would be so happy with the croissants, pots of jam, and Nutella packets. We have to have a group breakfast here before our trip is over! It's also in this video that I learned about hotel guests having a special skip-the-security entrance to the park. It's a rather long video, but if you have time to watch it, it's very informative and entertaining (at least I thought so).

Sophy1996, did you stay at this hotel when you visited? If so, do you have more intel about the special park entrance for guests?

Tomorrow is another busy day here, but hopefully I've left you all with enough entertainment to tide you over until next time! Keep those minutes coming, everyone!

I stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in February 2016. I got pixie dusted :) I had originally booked Hotel New York and 3 weeks before arrival I got a phone call from Disney to tell me I had been given a free upgrade!! It was off season AND there was huge construction skims obstructing the views of The Castle and Main Street from the hotel, so Im guessing bookings were down.

The hotel is within the Disney security bubble, so there are no security checks at the park entrance. Disneyland Paris is like Disneyland California, as in the 2 parks are beside each other, therefore the security checks are on the main esplanade.

The special entrance to the parks, is one of the perks for club level guests. There are 2 levels of of club level, the rooms and the suites.
Club level is called CASTLE CLUB and the rooms are located on the park side of the hotel, which means all club level guests have a park view. The Castle Club is located on the floors above the restaurants. Castle Club guests have their own check in / reception, which is located on the restaurant level floor, opposite the shop. Castle Club guests have a special elevator which takes them directly down to the entrance turnstiles, without having to walk though the rest of the hotel. Depending on your room location in the Castle Club, it would be possible to open your room door and walk a couple of feet to the elevator and then be at the entrance turnstile in less than 5 minutes.

This was my room, it was located on the Fantasia Gardens side of the hotel

No, we just did a day trip from Paris. Given that we only had one day to spend in the parks, we didn't want the hassle of packing up and moving our things out and then back to the city. It was pretty disconcerting to enter Disneyland by going underneath the hotel!

Thanks for the videos! They were fun.

25 minutes for Sunday, our last day in the city. An easier day, just walking to brunch then to the ferry home. A tiring but fun weekend. It's funny how just a couple of days away from your regular routine is so refreshing!

So true! We were only gone 36 hours to Omaha (left Friday morning and back Saturday night) but it was a revitalizing trip!
