Villas at Disney's Grand Californian - Room Views

I noticed that this was asked a couple of years ago, but we were just in 6500 in August (2019) and we heard the same thing. They really need to fix it because we could tell every time someone went in and out.

Fyi we stayed in 5502 1-BR with park view in October 2019 and there was a bulb out in one of the lights over the dining table. I noticed on the Grand Californian station on the flatscreen tv that there was a QR link for comments (square “bar code”). I used it and sent a message with my rm number and description of the problem. I was shocked to receive a reply from management within the hr, assuring us that it would be taken care of asap. I was in process of checking out so don’t have verification but management definitely keeps an eye out for comments.

Doesn't always work, got no view twice (trees).

I heard from CM at registration that there is no 1-BR on 6th floor. Thought 6th floor was only grand villas. Confirm?

There is a studio, 1, and 2 bedroom (exactly 1 each) on the 6th floor.

The 3-bedroom Grand Villas are #'s 4522 and 4513. They are basically 4th and 5th floor level. On the 6th floor, there is 1 studio, 1 1-bedroom (and those 2 are adjoining and can become a 2-bedroom lock-off) and a 2 bedroom. We've stayed in each one of those 6th floor rooms, and they are pretty awesome, although as someone mentioned, in the 2-queen bed bedroom of the dedicated 2 bedroom, the wall is up against the door that goes out to the patio, and you can hear every time it shuts. Only downside. I put in earplugs and it was fine, but it would be nice if they would put something to soften that door closing because it really slams. Pictures are from room 6502.

I was definitely in 6504 twice. Last time was October 2018, I got it by waitlist the month before and was shocked when they gave me the room number, knowing it‘s the best studio.

How can I tell which room numbers are dedicated vs lockoffs? Working on my request list.

You are so welcome! So many people helped me figure things out when we were new members, so I'm happy to be able to share.

You probably can figure this out, but the rooms in the picture that have the Corn Dog Castle sign in the lower right are the rooms that face Pixar Pier. Note that these pictures were taken a number of years ago, so the trees have grown quite a bit and block the view up to around the 4th floor I believe now.

Yes! We wanted a “quiet view” and it is exactly that. Having gotten the PP view a few times, I think I prefer the pool. We got Redwood Creek once and loved that too.

1522 is very similar. We were go, go, go this trip so it was a peaceful view.don’t know why it is upside down.

I thought I would start a new thread dedicated to room views from the villas at the Grand Californian. Please post your photos here, and I'll do my best to keep this list up to date. I've started by searching through the other VGC threads looking for photos and found a few, but we've got a LONG way to go. [Update 1/30/2014: we now have at least one photo from just over half of the room numbers. Not bad, but I hope we can continue to grow the list, and even continue to get updates. So please keep posting your new photos even if your room already has some listed here. I think we've already seen some views change with the growth of the trees.]

Note that the view I listed for each room is based on the direction the villa faces. But lower floor rooms may or may not have an actual view of that location.

H/A indicates that the room is handicap accessible.
