Unrelated to Podcast, Las Vegas Question - I'm Back :)

one more tip, always remember....
"No matter what it cost to go do something, it's cheaper than sitting in a casino."

That being said, have fun and good luck.

I noticed you didn't say where you were staying. When I got to Vegas I like to see shows that are within walking distance of my hotel. I love walking the strip, but I don't like having to take taxis. Traffic at night on the Strip can be a nightmare. You can basically sit in one place for 20 minutes. The Bellagio is sort of my personal cutoff. If I am north of the Bellagio, I plan to go to a show north. If I stay south, I plan a show south. LOVE is a really great show and is not as "adult" as the other Cirque shows. The Mirage also has a great buffet.

See if the hotel you are staying at has a car rental place in the lobby. I have seen rentals for $25-$30 for a day rental. My mother in law went on the bus tour of the Hoover Dam and did not like the bus part very much.

We are headed out tomorrow. I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the tips and suggestions. I know that we will have fun. If nothing else, I get to spend four days with my husband, and there is nothing I'd rather do than be with him. The planner of the group is not a planner. In fact, I plan her WDW trips for her. In her defense, I DO know more than her about Disney, but she's a pretty go with the flow no worries type of person. Not sure how we are friends :)

After a few bumps in the road that include a kidney infection with near hospitalization and a babysitter backing out (gotta love the in-laws), things are back on track. None of these issue include me. But, I am now going to Vegas with a pregnant lady and a lady getting over a kidney infection, which means I'm the only one able to drink. How's that for fun?

Again, thanks for the wonderful advice!!!

Nicole

Just one more suggestion, given your last post...
The Mandalay spa is fantastic. Divert your alcohol budget there! Also, another fun evening is sitting out on the strip at Mon Ami Gabi (at the Paris). The patio is heated, the food is great, and you can watch the Bellagio fountains for a couple of hours! You'll want to make a reservation.

Also, the Blue Man Group is a lot of fun, but my friend recommends Mamma Mia.

Thanks for the recommendations! We'll look into that. Sounds wonderful.

We have returned. Here's my mini review of nothing Disney related.

We stayed at the Flamingo, a great location. We are not into gambling, smoking, or prostitution, and I think if we were really into any of those, the trip would have been better. We did have a great time, though. Hard to go with three couples and have no plans made ahead of time, but we survived. What we enjoyed most - Freemont Street. That is what I was expecting the strip to be more like. While I like that for the most part you do not have to cross any streets, it was a pain to have to walk three blocks to cross the street.

The insides of the casinos were themed very well. My favorite was probably New York, New York. We made a visit to the top of the Stratosphere. Did not ride any of the rides. DH said God blessed him with a little common sense.

Worst thing we did, listen to a timeshare presentation. After going through DVC, we thought it'd be simple. Nope. We did the Grandview one, and it was absolutely horrible. Four hours of my life I'll never get back.

Glad to be home.
