Trip Report Aug 21 - 26!!!

hey all!! excited because i finally get to make a trip report!! been planning & dreaming of this trip for over 3 years now.

who: family of 4: my parents, me (18), younger brother (15)
when: sun aug 21 to friday aug 26
resort: pop century aug 21-25 and then stayed at riviera for the night of the 25th. loved both resorts!!!

park days:

monday aug 22: MK (crowds 6/10)
tuesday aug 23: AK
wednesday aug 24: DHS
thursday aug 25: epcot (my solo day), fam chilled at resort

did everything without genie plus but took advantage of early entry. parks are easily doable without genie sorry had to say it. was surprised with everything we got done!! longest wait was probably 30-40 mins for mmrr but honestly we ran out of things to do in the middle of the day so didn’t mind waiting in the AC for a ride once in a while.

arrival day we did some resort hopping at the sky liner resorts and adjusted to the orlando heat phew!! had dinner at sebastian’s bistro & couldn’t recommend this place enough!!! it was so good, and a lot of food for the price, we didn’t even finish the meat, the most expensive part haha!!

MK day:

ride closures helped us get on seven dwarfs & space mountain!! hop on right when it reopens and barely wait! don’t have exact times for everything as we were honestly just enjoying ourselves but here was the rough day:

7 dwarfs - (just reopened) in line at 9:10 on at 9:24 off at 9:27
fireworks at 9:30

things missed:

• splash (didn’t want to do it)
• peoplemover for my brother and i

overall we could’ve hit pirates (we’ve also ridden it before) before park close but after buzz we were done & very happy with our day so went back to the resort!! should mention we had thunder and lightning around 9pm so fireworks were delayed but no rain (this led to the 7 dwarfs closure that allowed us to hop on it when it reopened)

Day 2: AK August 23rd

crowd level: 6/10
park hours: 8am - 8pm
rained pretty badly around 4:30pm and didn't stop till around 6pm

- in park and in line for safaris by 8:07 (did late rope drop, and also ride was delayed due to animals blocking path)
- on ride by 8:43
- off by 9:08
- Everest single rider
- 10am lion king show
- rode everest single rider with my brother
- watched 11:30 Nemo show
- lunch at satu'li canteen (mobile order)
- 1:30pm feathered friends in flight show
- majarah jungle trek
- in line for dinosaur at 3:17
- in pre show 3:44
- dinner at yak and yeti at 4:15pm

- downpour - only brought two ponchos so we had to share them. most rides were down at this point
- safaris at 6pm

- parents left park, me and my brother stayed (rides starting to open back up)

this is all we accomplished after 6:30pm:
- dinosaur (walk on)
- everest (walk on)
- kali (walk on
- flight of passage, in line at 8:31, in preshow by 8:57

overall, my brother and I knocked out almost every single ride in the last two hours of the park being open. Single rider was great on everest. kali was the saddest ride ever. My family didn't intend to do avatar because we didn't care for the movies, and also my parents can't do simulators. But my brother and I decided to try out FoP at the end since we had done all the rides and it was amazing, probably one of my all time favourite rides!! We were so impressed, especially since we hadn't planned to ride it. Overall, a very successful day.

Day 3: DHS August 24th
the "big" day
park hours: 8:30am - 9pm
crowds were fairly high
took the skyliner over from POP
also they let us in 15 minutes later than they usually do, so kinda messed up my plan

- let in park at 7:45am
- RotR (we were the first group on the ride & the experience was incredible that way!!!)
- off rise by 8:13
- in line for slinky 8:19, on ride by 8:48 (parents rode TSMM during this time)
- tsmm (with the whole fam), off just after 9am
- met sully (out around 9:57 - was a long wait)
- grabbed coffee & num num cookie
- had ronto wraps (these were sooooo good!!!)
- single rider smugglers run twice, from 10:52 to 11:13 - my brother got to be the gunner one time
- shopped at stores
- 11:43 muppet vision
- star tours gift shop
- 12:24 met pluto, finished at 12:30
- 1pm beauty and the beast show
- tower of terror - in line 1:33pm, on ride at 1:57
- carrot cake cookie & pin trading
- met Olaf (10 min wait)
- star tours in line at 2:46pm (15 mins)
- 3:20pm ogas reservation
- 4:30pm indiana jones show
- 5:10pm single rider smugglers run
- dinner at docking bay (not great)
- mmrr (about 40 min from start to finish)
- wookie cookie break


parents left park, brother and I finished it up in last 80 mins:
- in line for smugglers at 7:40pm, off by 7:49pm (not single rider, we wanted to be pilots)
- in line for single rider RnRc at 8pm, off by 8:19pm
- in line for rise at 8:32pm, off by 9:09pm (second time was not nearly as good, especially with lines within ride)


Overall, I would say this day went pretty well. We got everything done we wanted to, and we honestly ran out of things to do, hence why we didn't mind waiting in line for 40mins for mmrr, which was actually a great ride & great for my family. My parents only did a few rides in this park bc they can't do simulators and don't like big rides (I think all they did was rise, tsmm, and mmrr). Docking bay was very disappointing, as my dad and brother's Mac and cheese was too salty and same with their ribs. My salad was great though. Riding rise first thing was so worth it & it was so cool being some of the first on the ride. Single rider for smugglers run works so well, we would walk on right away.

Day 4: solo day at Epcot Aug 25th
crowds 5/10

- in line for frozen at 8:09am, off by 8:26

- explore world showcase (which was awesome & very empty after 10am)

- lunch at les halles

- guardians virtual queue (took around an hour from like 12 - 1pm - such a good ride!!!!)
- mission space green
- club cool
- spaceship earth
- test track single rider
- walk around world showcase to get to skyliner
- leave at 3:14pm

So, I did this park solo and easily did everything I wanted to. Honestly, most of the rides were kind of sad compared to the other parks (including the rat ride, honestly pretty sad), except for test track and guardians, which I wish I could ride multiple times, the ride was so good.
