I doubt they cooked them in coals. They probably just did that for ease of serving, but it doesn't help them taste better.
You never know. I've seen them cooking wursts over open coals at the Christmas markets...
Yes, stairs are a big thing for me and still not so easy.
But you're doing great.
Yeah, even my German friends over here are a little stunned.
Stunned... that we hadn't heard of it, you mean?
Jenny and Michael did something in their room.
Woot!
I think she tried to take a nap.
Way to go Michael for keeping her from her nap!
Like this shot with the stream and the walkway curving together.
This shot slightly less blurry than the last.
On several levels.
Like this one.
We took the escalators up to the 4th floor, again something new to me. I only knew about the elevators.
I hadn't thought of that! Of course!
The first stop on our monorail crawl was The Enchanted Rose at the Grand Floridian.
I
think I've seen it?
Because most of the drinks at Trader Sams are rum based, I decided that I would stick to rum for the evening. I know, sorry @pkondz
Not my idea of a fun evening.
Really like this shot of all the drinks.
the Lounge at Steakhouse 71.
I know I haven't been there.
Jenny got another salty dog
Forgot to mention... I ordered one a couple years ago and the manager had to come out to see who would order it. He hadn't seen one in a long time.
Jenny and Michael got French Onion soup
I'm surprised
you didn't!
There was another group there that was also doing a Monorail crawl with a small child.
Sure. Might as well have someone who actually
crawls along, too.
They were encouraging the small child to be very obnoxious, egging her on when she was misbehaving.
Terrific.
The one gal justified it by saying to us, “I’m the fun aunt!”
That's F.U.N. aunt...
F'd Up Nut.
We decided just to check outside for a table, and there were three different parties leaving all at once, so we snagged a table easily.
Good timing for the outside.
Jenny and Jill got the Krakatoa, I got the Dark and Stormy, but did not upgrade it to category 5, because my tummy was feeling a little bit wonky. Michael got a Mai Tai.
So. Much. Rum.
Nope!
Yet another first for me, I’d never sat outside before.
I've never been to Trader Sam's (inside or out) at all at WDW.
Once we finished our drinks, we asked for the check and our waitress was like, “are you crazy? The fireworks are starting in just a few minutes!” When we asked she said, 15-20 minutes. They would be showing right here.
Oh! Nice of her to say that. Good timing on your parts!
Michael got another Mai Tai on the second round. Jenny and Jill got Spikey Pineapples, which was essentially a Dole Whip with Rum, and they both got a second shot. I went with the Polynesian Pearl which had a creamy Rum Chata
More rum.
Jenny and Michael split an order of the Kalua pork tacos.
I've heard of that... DISer on here who really loves them.
The fireworks were awesome it was HEA.
There were two little girls who really wanted to get closer but seemed hesitant, Jenny told them to go ahead and stand up at the railing. They were so excited!
Awww... That was nice.
Jill made a snarky comment, and one of the dads said, “I want to hang out with you guys!” Little did he know….
Pretty soon people asked if they could sit in the empty seats, and it was the two dads and their daughters.
No way!
I started preaching the benefits of DVC to the dads,
Any interest?
In the meantime I had ordered a Lapu Lapu and some Bread Pudding.
So... I've wanted to try that bread pudding, but...
At this point I was the only one still drinking. Everyone else had given up.
Quitters!
I was disappointed In the bread pudding. It was more like a slice of cake than bread pudding,
...but... that doesn't look that great, and...
I'm pretty sure they sprinkled coconut on the top of it too.
...and...
coconut?!?!?
We shared an immediate car with a family, and we laughed the entire way to MK where they exited. I don't remember the conversation but at one point the wife said to the husband, “You need to drink a glass of man up, and chug it!”
As we were exiting the monorail Jenny overheard a couple from the adjoining car say, “We need to get away from these people, they lack Jesus.”
You're work here is complete!
Jenny wouldn't admit that she was tipsy, yet as we waited for the boat and Captain Rusty was still at the helm, she commented, “He's the cook at the Crabby Patty.”
We took a selfie with Captain Rusty and if you think it looks blurry that’s because the picture captured how we felt.
